This place is amazing! You walk in to a trendy fun and welcoming bar. The bar tenders greeted us with friendly smiling faces. We found a place to sit in the back & we were given menus. Neither of us had ever been there before so we asked for recommendations. We went with something fruity, I think it was called paradise something, it had pineapple and coconut in it. But we had that to start. It was delicious. Then she came back and I asked for a recommendation on the dessert portion of the menu and she said the cupcake martini was a huge hit and so my friend & I did went with that -- just a note the cupcake martini has a lot more alcohol in it than the first one, whoa... -- but it was still really good! My friend and I had a blast while drinking our martinis and enjoying the atmosphere in the lounge. The way they set it up is really nice. I went home and immediately told my boyfriend about it. I'm really looking forward to going back and trying out different drinks! I haven't heard people talk about this place. It's like a hidden gem in Homewood!

However, a friend got stood up, so I came in to fill the spot. First, I have to say this is definitely a nice little spot tucked into Homewood. It sits right in the heart of its town-ish downtown area and really completes that "where to go and meet the locals" vibe. The staff is always nice, and the drinks are always strong. Honestly, I would love to have something like this in the South Loop, but at the same time, I think part of what makes it work is exactly where it is. The main floor is comfortable and accessible, with loveseats, bar stools, and plenty of space to settle in. It falls just a hair short of having that comfortable neighborhood restaurant feel, just without the restaurant or the food. The cool part is that you can bring in food from any of the local places down the street, which fits perfectly with the whole neighborhood atmosphere. Then there's the basement speakeasy, which has an entirely different feel and is easily one of my favorite parts of the place. Overall, this is one of those places that reminds you that you don't always have to head into the city to find a great night out. It's comfortable, welcoming, has plenty of personality, and feels like it belongs exactly where it is. If you're in the south suburbs and looking for a place to grab a strong drink, meet up with friends, or just settle in and enjoy the evening, this should absolutely be on your list.

Never heard of this place and I am beyond past any bar, lounge or club type situation but again we were invited for a birthday party and had no idea what to expect. That means the world to me! I do look forward to my next visit. I went here Saturday with my girls, and the vibe was on point, but the service from one of the bartenders left a bad taste. I want to extend some grace because it was extremely crowded and only a few bartenders were working, so one would expect a longer wait. However, when trying to order a 2nd round of drinks after tipping 20% our requests were repeatedly dismissed while others that came behind us were being served. When we finally did get served, I didn't realize my friend had paid for my drink and I put $15 on the bar for it. Once my girl told me she had already paid for my drink, I asked the bartender for my money back. She told me I only put $10 and despite my witnesses correcting her, she took it upon herself to STEAL $5 from me. In the future, I will not request service from this particular bartender. Other than that, it was a great time, and I look forward to my next visit!

For the pricing, I expected much better flavor, quality, and overall creativity. The shareables were overpriced, the drinks were mid-level at best, and nothing really stood out enough to justify the cost. The space itself is nice and works well as a social spot or sports bar atmosphere where you can sit, talk, watch games, and enjoy company. That part of the experience was probably the highlight. However, the service was also lacking because the restaurant seemed noticeably short-staffed. It took a long time to receive attention and proper service throughout the visit, which added to the frustration. Overall, the location and atmosphere have potential, but the menu, food quality, drink execution, pricing, and staffing experience need major improvement to match the type of establishment they appear to be aiming for.

It is so relaxing to have a drink on the patio overlooking the golf course. I have rarely seen it crowded unless there is a special event. They often have live music inside and that can generate a crowd. The hours are shorter than you would expect for a watering hole. They close at 8:30. I'm told that has something to do with their relationship to the park district, but whatever the reason it's kind of nice. It attracts adults. There will be no "going for one drink" and then somehow stumbling home in the wee hours (we've all done that right? not just me??). Pop in have a couple drinks and go home. As for the food, I can say while there's nothing particularly remarkable, I have yet to have a bad bite here. The menu is appetizers, salads, sandwiches and pizza. We usually gravitate toward the apps: fried pickle spears ($8.25) with ranch are delicious but eat them fast - soggy spears are no good, Angus beef sliders (3 for $10.75) are always juicy and well seasoned - you may even want to order 2, The big Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese ($10) an absolute must. If you're looking for a low key place to catch up with a friend or unwind after the day from hell, give them a try (and you'll be home in time for the nightly news!)

The place was packed, and the fee was 5 dollars to get in. We were bored out of our minds so we entered into this torture zone. Immediately, my friend and i went to the bar and ordered a drink.....There were no drink specials so i ended up paying 7 dollars for a tiny cup of watered down liquid shit. There were no available seats in the club, but out of luck i spotted to empty seats by the bar and we sat out butts down! After 5 minutes the bartender told us to move because those seats were taken. We kept siting there! Hell the seats were not occupied and there was no VIP sign placed on them.....Hell these were seats at the bar!!! I didnt know that people reserve seats at bars! 15 minutes later, a old drunk couple approaches us and starts a argument telling us to move out of the seats. They were in there 40's or 50's and drunk as hell. I didn't move one bit, until the boyfriend got in my face and threatened to hit me. I'm a very small individual with a 6 foot tall drunk man threatening me so that is uncool! Lots of people saw this confrontation, but no one intervened....security did nothing. I should have called the police, but i was a little upset and just left the establishment. So i lost my 5 dollars admission fee and my 7 dollar drink since i left the club after 25 minutes! It was terrible, ghetto, and i will never go there again. Oh Lord, where do the classy people hangout in the south burbs????? Why are the bars out here so darn ghetto???????????

Since I was solo, I sat at the bar. I wanted to start with spinach artichoke dip. There was none. So, I ordered carrot and black bean tacos. The tacos were a good backup. Those who lean towards vegetarian would like them. I must say that I was expecting some heat from the jalapeños. For my main dish, I had the shrimp and grits. It took a few swallows before the flavor kicked in. The sauce was tasty, but was maybe a notch above mildly seasoned. I have a feeling that the tomatoes in the recipe added a little acidity. With the addition of spinach, this dish landed in gourmet territory. From what I gather, the restaurant has been under new management for a few years. It feels like they are working out kinks. I'm not really gonna talk about the ambience, because for me it wasn't there, but that is not the basis of my scoring. The old-fashioned made by our waiter was good, excellent, perfect. We wanted a margarita, but they let us know that they did not have the materials needed to make it. They also did not have the ingredients to make a few starters and entrées on the menu so their limited menu became even more limited. The food, we ordered crabcakes, and a colossal honey glazed shrimp. The crabcakes came out and they were flat, they looked like what was supposed to be one crabcake broken into three. The shrimp came out and instead of having colossal shrimp we had small shrimp, maybe even baby shrimp. We addressed the concern with the shrimp and they said they're not going to charge us for it. With our pasta came a side salad, the salad and the salad dressing, which was a lemon vinaigrette, was good. When we received the pasta, there was only four pieces of sausage, the chicken was unseasoned and the sauce was cheese sauce with hot sauce added, no other seasoning. Nothing about the pasta was Nola.

I also understand that servers sometimes make assumptions about guests. However, every customer deserves the same level of attention and service, regardless of what a server thinks the tip may be. According to the receipt provided by the manager, I believe our server's name was Jaden. Unfortunately, she never introduced herself and only checked on our table once throughout the meal. Most of the service we received actually came from the manager on duty. I found myself repeatedly getting up to ask for things until I finally asked Jaden, if she was our server. I hoped that would prompt a little more attention to our table, but it didn't. Instead, she remained focused on another table that had arrived before us and was still there after we left. I watched her check on them four or five times while our table was largely ignored. Whether intentionally or not, it certainly felt as though she had decided our table wasn't worth her time. If that was her assumption, then in this particular case she was correct about one thing: my husband and I will not tip for bad service. I have no problem rewarding excellent service, but I also believe tips should reflect the quality of the experience provided. Rather than leaving money for poor service, I chose to give the cash I had to the busboys, who were attentive and helpful throughout the evening. The reason I'm sharing this review is because I don't want one bad experience to overshadow what has otherwise been a good restaurant. I've dined here several times before, live nearby, and have always enjoyed my visits. That's why this experience stood out so much. I'm willing to give the restaurant another chance because I know the level of service they're capable of providing. My hope is that when I return, every guest will receive the same level of attention and hospitality, regardless of assumptions about who they are or what they may tip. Great service should be consistent, and that's what keeps customers coming back. One final thought: tipping culture only works when both sides do their part. GUESTS should recognize and reward good service, and SERVERS should provide quality service to every table. When assumptions are made on either side, EVERYONE loses.
