I decided to check out Sean in LA, which is not something Id typically do as I live in Fullerton. I read all the great reviews and decided to give him a try. Location was fairly easy to find and has a large parking garage nearby. Sean spoke with me about his method and how he could help. It was great to hear someone passionate about this kind of work. Most massage places do the bare minimum and rarely even ask why you came in. I had some piriformis pain and general tightness in my upper back and hamstrings. I was definitely getting a good sweat going with all the heated herbal packs and hot stones he used. At times it was intense but he really knew what areas to focus on. Can I just say, "Wow..."? He is probably the most intuitive massage therapist I've ever encountered. He knows how to angle the pressure points so it hits my problem areas correctly so there's actual release of whatever energy/tension that has been stuck. I highly recommend Sean. I first went to him around 2010 when he was practicing out of the gym in Twin Peaks. I had taken an exercise class at the gym, and I pulled something in my leg. It was hard for me to walk. Sean treated me immediately. I was able to walk out of the gym with a minor limp. I was amazed that in less than an hour I went from having a difficult time walking to almost a normal walk. After suffering with hemiplegic migraines for 12 years, I was at a loss of what to do. My doctors continued to increase my medications, but nothing worked. I was already getting Magnesium Infusions every month, as well as nerve blocks and Botox shots every 3 months. The headaches were the least of my problems. I had extreme weakness on the left side of my body and muscle spasms throughout my entire body. I was lucky enough to book a session with Sean during my recent visit to Los Angeles. I heard about his work on a podcast, and his message really spoke to me. I have a long history of migraines (which had kicked into overdrive lately) and a few other repetitive use injuries (tingling and numbness in my hands-I'm a chef) and some chronic swelling after two ankle reconstructions. After a thoughtful and thorough explanation of what his method entails (which is always so valuable, because I become a true participant in my treatment and healing), Sean draped me in heavy, hot herbal packs. I am not a fan of heat, at all. I actually don't tolerate it well, and actively avoid it. However, after a few minutes of adjustment, I relaxed into the heat, which felt really therapeutic. He then rubbed hot stones (with plenty of oil) on my ankles, arms, legs, and base of my skull. I'm used to deep tissue massage, and I kept waiting for the painful portion of the treatment. It never came. It was intense without me wincing and holding my breath like I usually do. When we were done, I felt more loose and relaxed than I have in over 20 years. My neck and shoulder muscles are so chronically tight that I can't fully rotate my head. Following the treatment there was free movement. It was amazing. (I can say, plan to shower afterward. Sean is liberal with the oil and I was finding it hard to get dressed without coating my clothes). Sean shared great insight and wisdom as well, which was really helpful in some other areas of my life.
