I was looking for Cajun town and I couldn't find them. After searching I was able to find the bayou Cajun Café. Come to find out I talked to the manager Arsenio And he told me they indeed changed the name but the food is still the same. I was relieved! I got their amazing Cajun pasta. I have been eating this dish for many years. I can confirm the food is still indeed the same. So if you are in the mood for some amazing Cajun pasta and or Cajun food. This is your spot! Everything is so good here. The Cajun pasta is simply the best! I have also had the crawfish etoufee which is extreme good! The lunch portion is huge and can probably feed two people. The chicken tenders are so dam good too! My picky brother in law said these are best chicken tenders he ever ate In his life. That's a lot coming from him. Trust me if you are in the area stop on in and try some amazing Cajun good! You will not be disappointed. *** also you know you go out to eat too much when this happens. Quaint restaurant... it is really quiet on a Wednesday, although I am not quite sure why because they have nice size TV screens. It would be a great place to watch the game. The restaurant was clean. The waitress/cashier was attentive. She was also very knowledge about the menu and made several suggestions. If you are looking for a quick bite to eat in this area, stop here. Have been wanting to try this place for a while. I finally stopped in with my mom. I ordered shrimp Po-Boy w/ fries and my mom ordered half at Crawfish Etoufe and half fried crawfish. Po-Boy was excellent. Shrimp had very flavor/tast. I give high grade to the French Bread they use. Bread is very fresh and is a little larger to hold all the shrimp. Etoufe was very good as well. Also ordered a cup of seafood gumbo and definitely give it a good grade as well. Very good base flavor to it. Definitely recommend.. read more

So Happy to have this place close by. The etouffee is my favorite- crawfish or shrimp. Both yummy! I usually get the half and half- fried and etouffee. It's not a fancy place. You order at the front and sit where you want. Simple place, good food. read more

A bowl of gumbo (was the smaller clear plastic bowl that's about 3 inches tall) was decent size did think it would be bigger since I paid for the bowl option not the cup . Can't imagine how small that is . The gumbo itself was very bland unfortunately :( . I had to season it very generously. The boudin was also bland . Meh . Probably won't order again . Had 2 lunch specials yesterday. My husband had the Crawfish Ettouffee with rice. For lunch it was a large plate of food. I had the catfish and shrimp with French fries. We wanted to try this restaurant based on its reviews. We're from NOLA and I was raised by true Cajuns who spoke only Cajun French so I know good Cajun cooking. This was a HUGE disappointment. The red beans and rice was so thin it was actually watery and had no flavor other than too much pepper. The beans weren't even fully cooked as some were hard. The gumbo didn't remotely resemble actual gumbo. It was gross. The étouffée wasn't too bad but had no rice and was extremely greasy. Located in an older strip center, empty when we arrived, ... about 1:00ish.. first impression was that the tables were not bussed ... Walk up to counter ordering... My test we're to order the fried oysters.. a test by which I apply to all seafood restaurants... Mine came to me quickly... Presentation and size we're not too impressive... Taste was good... Veggies we're not bad... Overall, service needs improvement but the taste is there ... Worth a visit but I won't be going out of my way to visit again.. for the price there are nicer restaurants.. but convince to the locals should be a big plus.. read more

Happened upon this place when looking for local eatery to deliver after long day working. We were beyond impressed with the quality, quantity and flavor of the food. If it's this good after delivery time can't wait to see how good it is fresh. Even bought an extra meal for lunch next day. Warmed up perfectly. We recently moved to TX from the Midwest. I'm from New Orleans, and I know good Cajun food.i started ordering from Bayou when I saw them on DoorDash. Today I got their boiled crawfish. The spice is similar to Pappadeaux's. Lots of unique spices with a roux color. The boiled crawfish were great. The Étouffée is also very good. The fried oysters were so so. I am ordering from them on DoorDash on a regular basis. My parents and I have been going to Cajun Town for many years on West Little York and it is alway delicious. This was our first visit to this location. I Had the mahi mahi and it was very dry and fishy. The dirty rice was packed with big Chunks of dry liver. My dad had fried shrimp it was over cooked and my mom's salmon was also over cooked. The former Cajun town cafe has changed its name to Bayou Cajun Cafe.. with a different name comes other changes, unfortunately the 15% discount for paying with $ cash has gone bye bye :-( much to our dismay.. their cajun food is still on point, however this last visit I was looking forward to having the Crawfish etouffee combo..I've had this plate many times at their establishment and have never been dissatisfied.. but this time I didn't receive what I originally thought I ordered.. 1/2 fried 1/2 regular.. instead I was presented with 1/2 shrimp etouffee and 1/2 Crawfish.. delicious as it was it left me craving what I thought I had ordered as I had many times before in previous visits. Nice quiet place, great service.I tried the seafood gumbo, it was good and I will be back. Very friendly waitresse's, the pkace was clean and service quick. Tried this place last year and had a young lady at front register with a very nasty attitude so I just thought to myself maybe she was having a bad day so I didn't say too much and that's not me but I let it go. Food wasn't tasty at all but again they were new to the area so decided to try again a year later. Today I ordered fried catfish plate, fried catfish and shrimp plate and fried catfish, oysters and shrimp with coleslaw. Well, the gentleman said 10 - 15 minutes and that worked because I lived about about 8 minutes from the restaurant thinking that the food would be just right temperature. Well, food was cold, coleslaw had to be several days old because it was watery and the purple cabbage was just disgusting looking. Fish and oysters didn't have a flavor and the shrimp were boxed breaded shrimp. Nothing fresh to say the least. Very disappointed. Thought about ordering the gumbo but I know gumbo and just didn't want to chance it. Well, glad I didn't order gumbo. So, very disappointed with the food. read more
