I came here with a group after an afternoon at Barney's Joy. TBH, there had been some adult beverages involved in the afternoon, so the details of my visit here are a tad fuzzy, but the whole vibe is great! We sat outside and enjoyed the cool evening and sunset. We heard a rumor that the Bayside has the best lobster roll, so that is what I ordered and it did NOT disappoint! I could barely locate the bun underneath all of the lobster. There may have been two lobster's worth of lobster in this lobster roll! Seriously! And the lobster was cooked perfectly; tender, melt in your mouth! I do not recall anything about the service, the drinks or what other people ordered but I remember every last taste of that lobster roll! Well done! read more

Scallops were almost perfect, and the lobster roll was very good. Decent sized servings, and they have lots of beverage choices. There are big windows and plenty of outdoor seating to take advantage of the view of the beach in the distance. Since I visited early in the season, there were trainees learning about the service, but overall everything was great. In the past I've gone later in the season and found it crowded, since there aren't many other options out in this remote area. I'd suggest arriving early or midweek if you don't like waiting. read more

Found this place, strictly by chance, back in 2018. The lobster rolls and seafood chowder I've gotten over the years were GREAT. Was there this past week, with my wife. Lobster roll was good but smaller than the photographs I took in years prior. Wife did not enjoy her baked scrod. The seafood chowder and quahog chowder were on point, as usual. Lost a star because their restrooms were out of service and the only had portable toilets in the rear of the establishment. Service was good, server replaced my wife's cold french fries instantly. Props for using hand-cut fries - a lot of places don't. Unfortunately, due to my wife's experience (I won't get into it), we probably won't be back. read more

Nice quiet location in Westport with inside and outside seating. Perfect evening on summer solstice! I had the Maple Medley which consisted of sugar cane skewered shrimp and NB sea scallops pan seared with house made maple $sesame glaze over wild rice with asparagus. Absolutely delicious - the best scallops I've had in a very long time. They actually tasted like scallops! The shrimp were also very good. Anytime we go down to Horseneck Beach. we usually end up at Bayside afterwards to grab some food and a drink. We went on Saturday July 12th, the day before our 20th anniversary. We had a little bit of a wait but we ended up looking in the little shop and buying a pair of awesome gray sweatpants. The woman who helped us, Alicia, was absolutely fantastic and so kind and we started talking to her about how it was our anniversary the next day and she just made our experience so much better. We got a table shortly after that, the food was fantastic and our server was amazing. Right before we were leaving, Alicia came over and gave me a couple of match books, which I collect, that they had from their 50th anniversary last year. I just wanted to give a shout out to Alicia for making our night so great. It was the perfect ending to an amazing beach day. We will obviously be back! read more

Yes! Go to this restaurant! I had a fabulous Sunday summer dinner at The Bayside last night. My brain slowed down into what I felt was such a wonderful "don't worry be happy" type of atmosphere. We were sitting in a comfortable covered outdoor dining area and thankfully our waitress did not rush us even one bit. Although not planning on a cocktail, the Bayside Rum Punch was calling me and I'm so glad it did. Super delish! I was actually very hungry so I knew I'd appreciate any meal but ordered up and went for the Maple Medley - "Sugar Cane Skewered Shrimp and New Brunswick Sea Scallops - lightly chili dusted and pan seared with house maple- sesame glaze over wild rice and asparagus". We were there on April 25. The place was hopping, all tables were filled at 1:00 p.m. Ordered fish and chips. Fish portion could be larger but it was nicely battered and cod. Loved it. Black bean burger was fine. They cut their own french fries. We got the bottom of the bucket lengths of fries. Short 1 1/2 inch or less. I told the waitress who brushed us off, said "Well we cut our own fries". She walked away. Next time we get stuck with these, we are complaining to the hostess. You could only eat them with a fork. Advice to kitchen, keep these short ends to make your fish cakes. Serve long fries. read more

Greeted and seated immediately. The ambiance is bright, colorful, beach casual vibe, yet the suits were also there for lunch as well, so a nice mix. We both started with seafood chowder, which was excellent and gone before I even thought of taking a picture. Sorry about that. Definitely recommend. Huge chunks of lobster, scallops, shrimp, potatoes, and carrots. She ordered the curry chicken salad. I don't know if you can see the size of those berries in the picture, but holy cow, they're huge. I ordered a naked lobster roll with eggplant fries. Next time I'll opt with the regular french fries. Personally, I wouldn't do the eggplant fries again just because they were a little heavy (breading/oil) for my liking. However, all in all, their menu options are definitely right down my alley. We're both in agreement that we need to make it more of a habit to hit this place after work. read more

Beautiful Bayside! Wife had fish sandwich, I baked scrod. Both of us agreed the French fries were second only to McDonald's for perfection. My side-salad of cooked vegetables was clearly the best I have ever tasted! Our tasty ginger-ale was imported from Bristol RI-private brand. I am a stickler for cleanliness, was surprised by all-new, enlarged, show-room quality rest-rooms. Abbey, our wait-person in training, was top-notch. Welcome aboard, Abbey! Web site says dog friendly which is not true. I arrived with my 17lb dog with a harness on and sitting in her stroller very much contained. There were open picnic benches outside but we were turned away. No dogs allowed due to an incident last year. A year later and the web site is still not updated to reflect the "no dog" policy. We stopped by (on our bikes) just for a bite after a day at Horseneck Beach. Not only were the fried clams excellent -- juicy, sweet with big bellies -- they were brought to us piping hot with crisp, delicious french fries and tasty house-made cole slaw. Our spinach salad was also superb. The outdoor seating area is big and open, with beautiful views of the marsh and Audubon sanctuary. Great service, folks eager to please and quick to bring us whatever we needed. A visit to the Bayside is always the perfect complement to a day at the beach -- cannot recommend highly enough. read more

Really wanted to like this place. Great atmosphere. We were seated inside quickly with a long wait to sit outside. Drinks were expensive and weak- $14 for a rum and coke- only tasted of flat coke. We both got fish and chips. Fish was fine, fries were greasy and not hot and neither of us liked the tartar sauce. They should offer an alternative "regular " tartar sauce - the kind with lots of mayo that we all love. Theirs was more like a scoop of chopped pickles and herbs-not creamy at all. read more

We have yet to try lunch + dinner here though I've heard good things about it. Now that we live closer I'm sure we will be stopping in more frequently. We came for breakfast on Memorial Day around 10:30 and only had to wait fifteen minutes for a table outside. Inside there were tables a plenty. Our waitress wasn't very friendly and we hardly saw her after our drinks and breakfast arrived. I had checked out their menu online and saw that they had mimosas advertised for $3.95. This proved to not be the correct price they run at $9 a glass. It was tasty but I may pass next time. I ordered poached eggs with raisin toast which was delicious and my husband got the breakfast burrito. Our food was tasty and we really liked the small crispy home fries. We had to flag down our waitress to ask for more water. It was interesting that we were never asked how our food was, if we needed anything, etc. The views are stunning though perfect on a sunny day. And if you are visiting from out of town or looking for a beach souvenir they have a little mermaid truck parked outside with jewelry, shirts and small gifts. Definitely worth a check out. read more

Amazing and very relaxing patio experience on a Thursday afternoon at Bayside! We decided to take a leisurely drive and ended up here to grab a few drinks and a bite. Although we ended up staying into the evening. It was indeed a beautiful, breezy view from the patio, minus the bees that insisted on hanging out with us. Most likely due to the beautiful flowers and landscaping that line the patio. There are also lush vines and a fire pit with seating area. Very inviting! Our bartender was also our server and she was great! We arrived around 3pm so they were starting to close up the patio bar to move orders inside. It was a little slow turn around to get refills on drinks but not enough to complain. It was generally an older crowd most likely comprised of locals. I requested a key lime martini based on their pie selection I noticed upon entering. The bartender said it wouldn't be a problem. They were perfect! I ordered several. We tried multiple martinis from their signature drink menu and were never disappointed with any of them! While enjoying the afternoon breeze over drinks, we ordered the eggplant fries. Definitely recommend trying them! Light batter but great flavor! A bit later my fiancé ordered the fried scallops and I ordered the club sandwich. The scallops were amazingly fresh and I had no complaints with the club! Love the mermaid decor with many items for sale! All around a perfectly enjoyable visit and we look forward to a return visit soon! read more

The wait was 25 minutes, the service was excellent, the food was excellent, the fly count was nonexistent, the only issue I had was $20 for a one piece of fish on a fish and chips plate! I think that is a reach and embarassing to serve! It probably was a third of a pound at best. There are restaurants that serve three pieces of Haddock, a pound, for $18! You can get a pound of Haddock retail for 6.99-9.99! If I got a third of a pound, that was it! The ride and atmosphere are perfect on the day! read more

Okay, so it was very early in the season, April 12th, in the morning, but both the milk for my coffee which was slightly curdled, and the coke slaw, which was badly spoiled, disappointed me, but I didn't give them a chance to correct it because we were in a hurry and the fish and chips were dynamite. Really good and fresh cod, prepared perfectly, and the fries, were extremely good and is strongly recommended. Next time, I'll give them a chance to fix the cole slaw and I'm hopeful I can update this review and give them a better review, but serving rancid cole slaw just because its the first warm day is not a very good sign. read more
