The dish I ordered showed up and the fish filet was overcooked on top and the shrimp were the tiny ones you get frozen in a bag at the grocery store. I changed order to another dish which never showed up until after the rest of my party had finished eating. I asked to take it with me which they did but made no effort to make up for the poor quality of the first meal and the fact that I did not eat that evening. In addition, the waitress (Jenny) was snippy with her responses and approached being rude. Left hungry and left no tip on the table. Will definitely not be going back here in the future. read more

We love going to the Galley Grille, especially when the band Half Step Down is playing. We have been going for manny years, have noticed that the food has diminished and the prices have risen. Too many times, the food comes out less than hot, cold veggies, no baked potatoes, used to get bread and oil, but that has stopped. The service continues to be above and beyond, everyone is so great to us! BTW we, have mentioned that the only Two handicap spaces are not properly painted. Many times non handicap vehicles are parked there! We love going there, but unless. They get more consistent with the food, that will end! read more

Prime rip was cold and came without au jus. Tips were undercooked and were not actually marinaded. The sauce seemed to be added after. . Chowder was creamy and loaded with clams and potatoes but had a taste I had never tasted before won't say it was bad just not my style. Service was friendly and they did offer me something for the food being cold which was quite nice considering I did eat it all. The place was clean but had a dated look. My wife was happy with the way the way the tips were made even though they were uncooked. However no excuse for cold food. Two meals: Seafood Sampler and Baked Scrod Sampler: Clam chowder= excellent Clam cakes = bad ( they had no clams and were actually giant hush puppies. Stuffed Quahog = fair. Average taste and not much clam or sausage. They were all served hot though. Baked Scrod = poor. Not completely done and not hot or very warm. No flavor that I could detect, even though it was covered in bread crumbs. Copious applications of lemon juice and salt and pepper helped a little. Did not eat it all. I questioned if it was thoroughly cooked and the host assured me that it was. The mashed potatoes were great and the slaw was pretty good, but very mild. Needed some horseradish. I couldn't force myself to finish the scrod. The waitress was very nice and the wine was good. The decor reminded me of your average American Legion hall. Sorry for the bad review, but honesty is the only way to make things better. I recommend you find a decent pizza place. read more

We went in on a Thursday for their prime rib special and were pleasantly impressed. The waiter seated us in a booth as requested. The fire was going on this cold night and the atmosphere was cozy. Started off with the pulled pork nachos (yum) and ordered the Cape Cod Rueben and the prime rib. Our waiter was very prompt and friendly and made sure everything was timed perfectly. Service is always great at Galley Grille. Prime rib was cooked just as I like it. Also recently joined the Lafrance Hospitality rewards program and it looks to be a great motivator to try all of their other locations. We will definitely be back! read more

Been several times, stopping on our way towards Dartmouth and without fail, food is always delicious! I love how they have daily dinner specials as well as a very generous lunch menu. Yesterday, my husband ordered (lunch menu) the baked fish and shrimp with buttery crunchy topping along with vegetables and rice pilaf (you can change sides), I ordered the turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce and the most amazing portuguese stuffing. As if that wasnt enough, you also get a buttered brioche bun. I was stuffed and very content. Both meals were only $15 each! Our waitress Lexi was very attentive and so friendly. The atmosphere is casual, plenty of seating from tables to booths. A long U shaped bar is great for friends meeting up or single diners looking for a bite to eat. The staff was personable and pleasant. The restaurant was not busy, but it took 40 minutes for our food to come out. My scallops & fries were lukewarm. We brought several friends with us, and I found the food quality to be somewhat embarrassing. I went to pickup my order & came home to find my dessert had melted & my mud pie was sliver of a piece. I went back & the manager tells me it's because it melted. That's not the only problem... 1. don't put something that will melt on top of hot food 2. Looks like it was the last piece of pie & someone cut it to make 2 pieces. The manager is arguing that is not what happened, can I prove it No!!!! I look over the menu & guess what no more mud pie. Hummm Yes they did offer me something else, but why would I want anything from your business if you are going to argue & tell me no that doesn't happen. Ordered from here cause we were staying at the hotel and they had free delivery to our room. Had eaten at whites but never the galley grill so we figured give it a try. We wanted some fish and chips on our last night in New England before heading back to Vegas. We lucked out as Tuesday's special was - fish and chips!! We ordered 2 and waited for delivery. It was pretty quickly delivered and we dug in. Fish was well packed and they gave us everything we needed except for malt vinegar. Oh well. The fish was thick and white with just the right amount of batter and cooked perfectly. Really miss good fish and chips in Vegas. The fries were good but the fish stole the show. I ate mine in record time then polished off the rest of the wife's. So good and glad we got it read more

Comfort food and great service. We arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday and did not have to wait for a table. They had someone singing and playing the guitar which was cool. Atmosphere was ok---- not fancy--- laid back. The service was really good. Waitress was friendly and attentive. We both had the scrod dinner and it was really good. The scrod was fresh and portion was a perfect size. The side of vegetable medley were really good---- you could tell they were fresh and not previously frozen. The price was $16 and a $3 up charge ($19 total) for a house salad as one of the side. This seemed a little high to me, especially for the area. The baked scrod up the street at portals da cidad is $12.99 it is just as good and portion is actually a little bigger. So while very good and they had entertainment a little over priced. read more

We were honoring the one year anniversary of the death of our mom/grandma, & we chose Galley as her repast was there & my parents were actually the first wedding there many years ago. Christine helped our group get seated even though the restaurant was very busy due to an event. She actually carried a table over & added it to another, & then moved her desk to give us more room! Really disappointing. Burger was a pre frozen patty and wasn't cooked medium well it was dark on outside and bright pink on inside, fries were decent. Butternut squash ravioli wasn't even full cooked (still frozen in center, sauce was like thin Iike water with barely any flavor (supposed to be sage cream), it did not have goat cheese and walnuts as menu described. My boyfriend and myself go to The Galley Grille every Wednesday night ( well, almost every Wednesday). We truly love the staff and the food. When we're not there, the staff are concerned because they care about their customers. They know what we like and we're never disappointed. The food is made to order, always fresh as well as more than enough quantities. If there's an issue with what we ordered, the staff will take the food back and return with a corrected ordered. That doesn't happen very often. We find the prices to be reasonable too. We don't have anything negative to say about our experiences at The Galley Grille. read more

Came back for Prime Rib and Lobster at end of July 2018. Arrived at 6:50 and even though menu states "Lobsterfest and Prime Rib Friday's" they were sold out of both. I was hugely disappointed since I work in Boston and drove way out of my way to get here. So if any of you plan to come here for lobsters or prime rib, my suggestion is to arrive before 6:30 on a Friday. Update: Stopped by Galley 2 weeks ago; ate at the bar and had a nice prime rib. Very pleased at the quality and quantity. Just left Galley an hour ago. Ordered the prime rib again with expectations of 2 weeks ago. So disappointed at the size (very thin) and quality (tasted like it was cooked day before and reheated). Unfortunately consistency is an issue at this establishment. Waitress was very nice. Too bad because when they want to get it right, they do. Won't be giving this place any more chances. read more

Friendly staff and healthy pours but unfortunately it smelled like my grandmas basement. Live music on Saturday night but could do without. Went here thanks to a two for one coupon. I also think of big banquet stuff when I think of White's, not necessarily a place to go for dinner. We had a really good time. We went earlyish on a Sunday and were seated immediately. The place was maybe half full. The Olympics were playing from four TVs but the sound was off (captions on) and you could watch it or not. Our waitress was attentive, charming and friendly. She got us drinks (bottomless soda and a great dark and stormy from the bar, which came amusingly enough, in a Coors pint glass) and some bread with dipping oil which we noshed on while we waited. I got the chicken parm which was served over a heap of tortellini and came with some tasty garlic bread. It was delicious, filling and really well made; it's sometimes tough to find a good chicken parm around here. Boyfriend got the meat pie and he loved it. It was a slice of a large pie, not a small pie which wasn't what we were expecting. It's all meat and the crust was really good, flaky and more of a pastry style. It wasn't really my favorite (something odd about the meat flavor but just a preference nothing wrong with it) so I had some of his (perfect) fries and some of his butternut squash which was also great. His was a decent value for the price, whereas I felt like the chicken parm was a crazy value. The atmosphere of the place was nice. It's dark and there was a little stove going. There was one couple seated at a comfy couch which would be a great place to just have a few drinks and watch the game. I liked the details, the chairs at the bar, the metal riveted walls, the old fashioned bar, the folks stopping by to ask us how everything was. I purchased a total $83.00 for two orders of take out from the Galley Grill this evening and everything but the coleslaw and the Blounts clam chowder was terrible. The clam-cakes were burnt, the Seafood Casserole was dry, the Calamari was soggy and the fish n chips were greasy. I am a regular there and have experienced sub par before, but this was the worst. I will be going a little farther out to the Cove hence fourth. read more

Having this located right down the street from my hotel was nice. I walked in and thought the place looked nice and inviting. I unlike GW'S comments on the atmosphere found the place to be really nice. The hostess helped me to my seat and waitstaff helped take my drink order immediately. I ordered a bowl of the clam chowder, which I really enjoyed the bowl of clam chowder. I went out on a limb and ordered the clam pasta dishes. It looked really cool when I got it. But it was a bit salty or maybe it was the clams. I don't order them a lot so I don't know. It was OK, but just might be my unfamiliar association with eating clams. All in all I was glad I tried it!
