[[HIGHLIGHT]]The location has an amazing view and very fun ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, if you are not into loud music and live bands I would not recommend.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is decent, not spectacular, but food comes out fast. The wait time can be extremely long on busy summer weekends but that is to be expected. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The highlight of this place is its location and the sunset is gorgeous.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My dad appreciated that the "beer was appropriately cold."

Amazing desert the dark the dark side omg with a cappuccino; heaven

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The wharf side was my mums favorite place to sit down and enjoy our favorite dish fish and chips[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My mums was a proud British subject and believe me the fish and chip better have been the best because she will let you know if it wasn't and her tea had to be poured a certain way. Unfortunately Hazel mum is no longer with us she passed away but she did get her fish and chip before she past away . This place is great ...i dont care what anyone says i recommend this place 100% I m a retired chef of over 30 years of experience and a long line of chefs in my family.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated quickly with a beautiful view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Enjoyed everything we ordered. I'm a Jersey girl living in CA and it was wonderful to have a sentimental visit.

Patio Punch. Tasty but it gets watery too fast. Either share with someone or order a smaller drink.

I visited the Patio Bar this past Sunday with my wife and overall we were satisfied with what was offered although both the food and drinks are pricey. They open at 12pm and we arrived at 1pm. 80% of the parking lot was already taken at that time so keep that in mind. If you arrive later you might need to park on the street. We were able to get a a table near the band stage and the water which was nice. I noticed that after 4pm people were standing near the bar waiting for tables in the outdoor area. The ambiance is great, especially on a sunny warm day. A little more laid back with a nice view. Since it's near the water it doesn't get too warm. The band (Nine Deez Nite) was great. They are the reason we visited Patio Bar since we had seen them playing at Martell's a couple weeks ago. They play 90s music. But note that the line up at Patio Bar varies so check their site to see who's playing. Food was average and very pricey for what's offered. We ordered both the mahi mahi and the fried flounder. Mahi mahi was just ok, somewhat tasteless. Fried flounder with fries and coleslaw was better and tastier. My wife had a couple frozen pina coladas and I had 2 Patio Punches (in the bucket). Pina colada was good but very small for $15 and Patio Punch was ok ($18). Since the weather was warm it got watery really fast so next time I will probably stick with beer or get a frozen drink. While some of the staff is friendly, some of them look miserable and seem to be unhappy with what they are doing. Our waitress didn't smile not even a single time. Every time she brought me a drink I politely said thank you but she didn't even look. When I went to the bar to ask the bartender to put some ice on my drink she made an angry face, put the ice and handed the glass back to me as if she was doing me a huge favor. I said thank you and she said nothing. She definitely wins the prize for the most miserable employee on that establishment. Hey lady, we spent $140 dollars, I think I deserve some ice and a "you're welcome", otherwise get a job feeding lions. On the other end the hostess and the red hair waitress who took our picture were much more friendly. So just to summarize this is a nice place with expensive average food and drinks and and some of the staff need to have a better attitude and need some customer service training so that we feel more welcome.

Finally I got back to New Jersey!!! And most importantly I got back to The Wharfside! Great place, Great food and an excellent renovation!!! Sorry the staff is the best. I'm not going to say to much but, if you have never gone, GO!

    Coconut Shrimp, Mahi-Mahi

The restaurant is located next to the water - arrived on a warm Thursday night, no reservation, bar was a little crowded, however manageable. Ambiance- it's wharf side, so the smell of seafood permeates the restaurant. There was a band that evening that played a mixture of Queen, AC DC and Paul Simon..very sing-a-long oldie tunes. Ordered the coconut shrimp and the chili rubbed mahi mahi. The shrimp was delicious, the mahi mahi was mediocre. Service - surprisingly good. Check it out next time you're in the Jersey Shore.

We sat by an open window area, it was beautiful and the breeze that swept through was perfect. The patio bar next door had music, so it was the perfect volume for us to still have conversations. The food was quick and delicious. I got the spicy garlic shrimp pasta, garlic yes- spicy no. I asked for more red pepper flakes and it was great! Just wasn't spicy. My family enjoyed their meals and the service was friendly.

    Non mask wearing bartenders

We've been dying to come here! Great location and atmosphere on the water. However, the bartenders either did not wear a mask or did not wear it properly (under the chin or nose) while fixing/pouring patrons' drinks. We sat at the bar and each enjoyed a bucket drink. We didn't eat here so I can't review the food. Honestly, we couldn't really get past the fact that they bartenders weren't masked. They also seemed grumpy and unhappy to be there- so definitely not a friendly vibe. We loved the location though and watching the boats go by. The other patrons weren't exactly socially distancing and the bar got a little crowded a few times. Chairs were moved to form large groups, which is against state guidelines. If you go, just beware that this place isn't really following covid guidelines. Despite having a large sign displaying new covid rules upon entry, the bartenders and people drinking at the bar did not think this applied to them. Also- beware of the flies. I'm between a 2 and 3 star but settling on 2 because of the lack of covid protocol.

Rum buckets! Decently strong and worth it as a great option off of the boardwalk. It can get busy but their service is always fast. You will not be sitting without a drink in hand for long. And not it mention, it's on the water and has a great view with boats passing by. Food is also fantastic!

Wharfside Combo with added Lobster Tail - All cooked to perfection.

Our first time at the Wharfside Seafood & Patio Bar. We sat outside the dining area along the waterfront. When we first sit down they brought out complementary cornbread hush puppies & coleslaw. The coleslaw was very good just the right combination of vinegar & mayonnaise. The Hush Puppies looked perfect but were mushy inside & we couldn't taste the cornbread. I love martini's so I tried the Point Martini. It tasted like medicine to me. Luckily our server Hunter offered to exchange my drink & I had The Inlet. The inlet was delicious! We each ordered a cup of Lobster Bisque which had a nice portion of lobster meat and was very good & creamy. For an appetizer we took a chance as I don't like spicy foods & ordered the Spicy Garlic Shrimp. The Spicy Garlic Shrimp came out with a slice of garlic bread. It was perfect! Not hot spicy at all. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, the sauce had the right combination of flavors & the garlic bread added a great touch. It was so good we thought about not ordering entrees and just ordering more Spicy Garlic Shrimp. I ordered the Wharfside Combo & sprung for the added lobster tail. Everything was delicious & cooked perfectly. DH ordered the Cajun Mahi-Mahi & loved it. Unfortunately the jasmine rice that was under the fish was ice cold and flavorless. DH felt the rice was dry & asked for melted butter to moisten it. Not that we weren't stuffed already, we ordered dessert. The Key Lime Pie was delicious! The presentation was lacking but the flavor was good. Hunter was our server. He had the best personality & was always checking back to see if we needed anything. He was knowledgeable of the menu & made suggestions. Thank you Hunter. We look forward to coming back.

Someone mentioned this place so we decided to check it out. For those who haven't been here before, you must show id, open up any bags/purses and get a wristband placed on you before entering the space. With it being a beautiful day, it made sense that it was pretty full/packed in there - we were still able to find some good seats at the bar. We both went with frozen drinks to cool us off. They weren't as strong as we were hoping/expecting so we ordered a round of shots also. We were pretty hungry, so happy that it didn't take long for the food to come after ordering. Both felt our seafood was fresh and were surprised at the large size of the shrimp. Food was good standard bar food. The live music group came on before we got our food and I really enjoyed their set. Good go-to spot to check out when at Point Pleasant Beach.

Walking into the restaurant, i also have to say that I encountered the most friendly servers I've ever encountered at a down the shore restaurant. Every single server, said hello, good afternoon, thank you for coming, have a great day, and were so pleasant and friendly. It was a nice change to be greeted happily by so many just for lunch. What I really came for was to get one last lobster roll before the summer ended and was pleasantly surprised that even though the size may be deceiving from my picture, it was a very satisfying and stuffed with fresh lobster. I also had the burrata appetizer, which came with 2 small toasts and I think some kind of mango puree, which was just okay (I think I'd skip that next time), and we also ordered the seafood platter, which was very good as well. Overall, it was a great lunch, I'd definitely go back and would highly recommend!

As usual, the restaurant was very busy--we waited about two hours for a table, and getting drinks at the bar took some patience. Once seated, however, our waitress was excellent: friendly, attentive, and one of the reasons we enjoy coming here. The only negative part of the evening occurred after dinner. My friend and I walked down to the dock to smoke cigars. We passed a security staff member while holding our cigars, and he allowed us through without hesitation and which we normally do when we go to the Wharfside. About 15 minutes later, another security staff member approached and told us smoking wasn't allowed there. I had no issue leaving, but I was disappointed by how she handled the situation. The conversation quickly became confrontational as we were walking off the dock, and I felt I was spoken to disrespectfully [she called me a dick for no reason. To make matters worse, the first security staff member denied allowing us onto the dock, even though he clearly knew why we were going there to smoke [guessing he lied because she was the manager and didn't want get reprimanded by her as she seemed to be very angry [& nasty]. We've always enjoyed dining here, and have to admit this experience will probably stop us from returning. I hope management reads this and provides clearer communication on the smoking policy and ensures all security staff handle these situations professionally and consistently!
