We dined here on a Saturday afternoon. The calamari appetizer was a fresh, crunchy start to our meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails from their speciality drink menu. Even though it was busy, service was prompt and the food & drinks came out extremely fast! For our entrees, we had the Greek salad with chicken, and the birria Cuban sandwich - both were delicious. We dined indoors, but there's also a large outdoor seating area with umbrellas right on the Asbury Park boardwalk - the ambience is perfect for a seaside meal.

Such a good beach day lunch! Drinks and food were delicious. We can't recall our server's name (my husband thinks it might have been Tori?) but she was amazing- so kind and personable. This was my second time going here for lunch and will not be my last!

The Robinson ale house is located right on the water in Asbury Park and is a great place to go for breakfast lunch or dinner when enjoying a day on the boardwalk. Stacked with a full bar, the margaritas and bloody Mary's here are great. Same goes for the bar food snacks and sandwiches (favorites including the crab cake sandwich and hot honey dipped fried chicken). I've never left disappointed.

Besides the good service and nice ambiance by the beach, there's not much else that's good here. The clam chowder was quite good but the lobster roll lacked meat and was off balance relative to the bread. At least the drinks were nice, especially as we sipped on it while watching the sunset.

Talk about prime location! Right on the boardwalk, solid food and good service. We decided to dine at The Robinson Ale House since it was so conveniently located across from the Convention Hall and at the heart of the boardwalk. After a few hours of beach time, we got to the restaurant at about 1PM and it was very busy by then, but there were still tables available outside. We decided to dine outdoors since it was such a beautiful day and it gave us an opportunity to just take in the beach breeze. Also, if you're a people watcher, it's the PERFECT spot for you. Some tables outdoors were not shaded though, but we were fortunate enough to grab one that was mostly shaded. We were very familiar with the menu since we went to a location of theirs in Long Branch, so we knew the menu was going to be pub-like. We got the kids the Kids Chicken Tenders and Kids Grilled Cheese. My better half ordered the Steak + Burrata Salad and I went with the Chi-Town burger. Our food came out fairly quickly. First, the kids. Unfortunately, the Kids Chicken Tenders was a bit disappointing and not what we remembered it to be when we went to the one in Long Branch. The tenders were more patty-like and didn't have much crunch or flavor. The Kids Grilled Cheese was very good though, according to my wife. I had a bite of it and thought it was just OK and fairly what is expected of a regular grilled cheese. As for the Steak + Burrata, my wife enjoyed the salad overall, but she felt that the steak needed more seasoning, which was disappointing. I thoroughly enjoyed my Chi-Town burger. Everything about it was perfect. It was cooked medium exactly the way I like it and those chips that come with it are always addictive. There are a few other restaurants on the boardwalk here, but none better situated than this one. It's hard to miss and has a perfect spot for people watching, if that's what you're into. The food here wasn't bad, but wasn't the greatest either, however, if you're just seeking a relatively quick meal that won't empty your pockets, Robinson would do.

    - Plenty of seating on your average weekend beach day - Food was decent: burger was cooked nicely and had good flavor, came with plenty of chips; grilled cheese was soft with a nice crispy exterior, apple slices were lacking; steak was cooked medium as ordered but not seasoned at all and bland; kid's tenders were disappointing, flavor and texture were just meh - Ladies restroom gets busy: two stalls and one was out of tp, two faucets and one was out of order, and the paper towel dispenser was broken - Front entrance off the street and back entrance right off the boardwalk

As someone who has come to this bar regularly to watch Knicks playoff games, I can confidently say…read moreI will never return after what happened during the NBA Finals last night. What this bar pulled was completely unacceptable. They were openly reserving seats at the bar for certain people while telling everyone else they were unavailable. There was no advertised reservation policy, no advance notice, and no opportunity offered to regular customers. Apparently, the only way to get a seat is to know the owner, know the bartenders, or be part of the inner circle. What made it even worse was that my group had been sitting at the bar, ordering food and drinks starting around 7:30 PM, only to be forced out of our seats at 7:45 PM. The reservation signs on those seats clearly stated they were reserved for 8:15 PM. We were paying customers actively spending money, yet we were removed 30 minutes before the supposed reservation time. That is absolutely egregious behavior. I've worked in sports bars and have owned sports bars in New York City. In all my years in the business, I have never heard of reserving seats directly at the bar--especially during a major sporting event. It goes against everything that makes a sports bar successful. Bar seats have always been first-come, first-served. That's Sports Bar 101. I've spent plenty of money here over the years because it was always a great place to watch big games: good atmosphere, sound on the TVs, and a fun crowd. Unfortunately, last night proved that customer loyalty means absolutely nothing. Regular patrons were treated like second-class citizens while preferred customers received special treatment. For a bar that markets itself as a neighborhood sports destination, this was incredibly disappointing, unprofessional, and frankly insulting. If you're planning to watch a major game here, don't assume you'll be treated fairly. Unless you're friends with the right people, don't expect the same experience as everyone else. There are plenty of other sports bars in Brooklyn that understand how to treat customers. After last night, I'll be spending my money there instead. I won't be back, and I certainly won't be recommending this place to anyone. Let's Go Knicks

The Commissioner is one of my favorite spots to watch a game in Park Slope. The frozen margarita is…read morea standout (and even better with some snacking queso). They've also got a great lineup of local beers if that's more your speed too. It's the kind of place where you can cheer, snack, and sip without missing a play. Darts and photobooth available to round out the fun. Friendly staff, fun energy, and a crowd that actually feels like neighbors.
