This is a review for Oceanside dining at Jenks. I've been going here for about 35 years. The place has changed tremendously over the years. I thought the upgrade to the bathroom was incredible. State of the art Dyson sinks. Easy to use and efficient. The place also has a great outside area with a view of the ocean! Our server Wesley was great. He was kind, efficient, & we enjoyed talking to him. Our food came out just as ordered. The food was ok. I remember Jenks taking a little more pride in the food and in previous years, I remember thinking, wow, this food is really delicious. This time I would give them a C for food. The drinks were good. 1st time to this area filled with boardwalk type food such as NJ pizza, funnel cakes , fried oreos, and more. Several arcades were open , ice cream shops, and even an aquarium were there right on the Jersy Shore. On a chilly Saturday night in the 40s you could still see families bringing their kids here for the Holiday lights and we even had a glimpse of Santa as he ran through an icecream shop going to a Christmas event at the main restaurant. Even though it is 2 wks before Xmas, it still was a nice place to walk without the major crowds of the summer. read more

POINT PLEASANT BEACH: Canines and Cocktails has a new location for 2023 at the famous Jenks Club on Jenkinson's Boardwalk! Every Tuesday through the summer from 5:00-9:00pm, come to this beautiful spot right on a fenced-in sandy beach where dogs can run around off-leash and, if you prefer, on-leash. All dogs are in one area (not separated by size). Baggies available at the bar. There are 3 outdoor bars to get a drink and you can order food from a menu with a lot of selections and the servers will bring it out to you. New this year is a doggie menu with a choice of meat, green beans, and carrots. Dogs are not allowed inside the building, but a pet parent can go inside for more bars, food, and restrooms. If it is your first time attending this year, you need to complete a waiver (dogs must be fixed and updated on rabies vaccination) and then you will receive a card to bring with you on subsequent visits that will get you right in. The bartender in blonde was extremely rude to me as well as my guests on multiple occasions to the bar. I asked for a "rum punch". Didn't want a full rum bucket because I didn't want that much alcohol, and she goes "rum punch?? It's a $20 minimum. Figure it out!" Then moves onto the next person. I get that it was busy, but if she were to say "I'm sorry, it's a $20 minimum. Would you want to get 2?" I would have happily gotten 2. Not to mention that I actually had cash on me so I would have just used cash if I would have known. Also, isn't she working on tips? I ended up going to a different bartender bc I didn't want to deal with her, and I advised my friends not to tip her at all since she was so rude. Last night was our first time coming to Jenk's Pavilion, and we cannot wait to come back! Definitely recommend enjoying this venue during the day. It gets crazy packed at night! If you come in early (I believe before 9pm?), there is no cover fee. We started our day here around 6:30pm. After a couple drinks, we had our hands stamped and left for dinner. We then came back around 10pm and dint' have to pay a cover fee. There was a small band that was singing 2000's hits and the crowd was loving it! We stuck with the simple house margarita which was delicious. There was a huge selection of beers. We did not order food here, but we took a look at the menu and their prices seemed fair. We visited the boardwalk recently. One of my friends heard about us coming here for the day so he asked me to get him a bucket with Jenkinson's on it. They give out buckets like that here with kids meals. They have a long area to order from, and you just walk up and order! I picked the mac and cheese. Took about 5 minutes to get it, and then I was on my way. I did ask for a box for the food because we would be traveling with it. My friend got his bucket, and I got an extra meal. It came with a water bottle, fries and 1 serving of Kraft mac and cheese... I know that it is for kids, but can you be a tad bit more creative? lol! Fries were ok, and so was the mac and cheese. It was more important to get the bucket lol! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean from where I was standing and waiting. I did not get a chance to look at the tables... All in all, they seemed to have a decent selection to eat, and they have sit down dining, not table service. They are one of only a few locations on the boardwalk that have that. Never seen that many people in one place. Insanity but a great time. They did a nice job with the Jenks beach outdoor area. They have a dj out there and it was a lot of fun. Inside they have a bunch of island bars and a band playing. It gets crowded so hard to get a drink after a certain time. Overall, I had a blast and I would come back. They have plenty of food options on the boardwalk if needed after the drinks. I think the trick is to get stamped early so you beat the line and then you are good for the night. read more

Was very disappointed when I went on Saturday night. They raised the entry fee to $20 per head, couldn't get around because it was so crowded. Took over an hour to get drinks. I felt bad for the bartenders. All of the drunk customers were shouting at them when they are just trying to do their jobs. The screwdrivers were great when I did get to the front of the bar, but it was just madness. read more

Jenk's North Inlet Café has been a go-to place since I owned my restaurant on the inlet in the days of yore. Park your vehicle in the parking lot if you go during the week it's five dollars, more on the weekends. The parking meters in Point Pleasant or more than expensive. The weather is beautiful...'tis the beach season and time for drinks and listen to the vibes at the shore, sans the crowds. Food is good, their beers are still mundane but it's all about the view & the smells of the Shore. read more

Had a blast sitting at our palm tree surrounded table in the middle of the sand. Love that tiki feel! Writing this review based on a middle of the day experience Been going to this place for eons, pre Sandy. Glad it's back. Their gift shop was a new discovery for me. Loved it! So many adorable welcome signs with a beachy, homemade craft feel which would've cost 5x that price at other places. This is located across the boards from the Jenks bar itself. We ordered a pizza which was humongous. Really large slices! I think one would fill most people up. They are substantial and tasty. The cheese, crust and sauce back East is just hard to beat. They know how to do pizza and Jenk's isn't the best but it's reliable and good. Bar service is self serve. you go to the front to collect your pizza when ready (they give you a buzzer). We had a great time. There's no table service so don't expect a bus boy to fill your waters. It's a casual beach front place where you are really paying for the location but even then it is so affordable! The pricing is very fair and the bartenders were nice and fast. Loved hanging here for a few hours. It's hard to beat beach front real estate, just nothing else like it read more

Random summer weekend we were visiting friends, they suggested we come to this beach so we did. The pavilion is where u get food , first day for lunch we got an order of Mozzarella sticks & Chicken fingers along with a large drink. Very good mozzarella sticks, fried yes but not greasy good dipping sauce. the Chicken fingers were good as well you have to ask for the sauces, we got some honey mustard not bad. Through out the day we got drinks here , the Frozen Hurricane good in taste lacked alcohol, better to stick with beer Landshark was a good choice. Next day we were back for lunch I had the Caesar chicken wrap on whole wheat comes with kettle chips, good wrap chips were good as well. also tried the Chicken cheese sandwich this was very good. Later on for the final meal we decided to try the sit down option drinks decent Froze & Landshark beer. On the food I had the Penne ala vodka this was great, nice tasting sauce with some good grilled chicken. also tried the build a burger with bacon, cheese & avocado .. comes with kettle chips great tasting burger. The cafeteria part of this is not bad some decent choices for food, served rather quickly , the sit down service part not bad either we sat closer to the jenks club area closer to the music playing. price wise on both a bit on the high side but with only so many options all being pretty much the same. this pavilion is a nice size, social distancing in place, limited seating inside because of the open air not bad over all for drinks & food. read more

The location is hard to beat with the ocean views and right along the boardwalk. The drinks were cold and the food was good. We went here for lunch and it was really amazing ! If you go for drinks try a piña colada but make sure you add a runner ! so good so fresh try not to drink it too fast because you'll get a brain freeze lol we got salads and cheese steak (no peppers or onions ) and they hit the spot. My review is strictly based on Jenk's Inlet for catering and parties. I run corporate events and have had our summer picnic here for the past three years. I cannot say enough good things about the food, drink and service for all three of these events which are usually for about 75 people. Prices are reasonable and all food is grilled for you right on the beach. You have your own bartender who runs a tab for you unless you buy the liquor package. They have a great assortment of drinks and service is always good. You get your own security guard who keeps the regular beach and restaurant patrons away from your event. Wrist bands are given out to all attendees. They have plenty of seating under umbrellas, and you can play volleyball on the beach with their nets and equipment. They keep outsiders out for you. Our event was 4 hours during a very busy day at the beach and everything was handled perfectly. Another event was taking place after ours and they were very patient and courteous with our group who was a little slow to leave. A great place for a corporate event, however no cancellations due to weather. You would have to opt to pay for tents if you want them or move your party indoors. read more

What a nice surprise! The husband picked this out while we were in Point Pleasant. It was nice to walk to the end of the boardwalk and find a nice, relaxed, outdoor bar and restaurant. We sat at the outside bar and watched some beach volleyball while soaking up some sun. Inside was a nice, open air bar where you could order food. Food is typical Jenks options- deep fried, average, and about two dollars too expensive. We did enjoy the $2 Coors light specials. This is a more relaxed, less crowded option than Tiki or Club Jenks. We'll definitely take the stroll down the boardwalk back to this place next time we're in Point Pleasant. read more

But this bar/resturant was not only filled with rude staff, we were also served with sugar water as a margarita. I'm astounded by behavior of 5 staff members in a row. Sorry but this place was disgusting. Stay away. What a monumental waste of money. Food was beyond awful. Bread was stale, drinks were all sugar and no alc, burger was over cooked and bottom of the barrel quality meat as was the cheese steak. Service was decent. Felt bad for the waitress like she knew the food was bad. They had some dueling piano guys and they were just awful. Too loud and annoying as all hell. At night when this is a "club" the bodyguards are HORRIBLE. There was some African American lesbian woman(?) who worked the front-ish by the bathrooms and every time she saw me inside in line for the bathroom she would tell me I had to leave. No, I was not belligerent drunk. I'm a breastfeeding mom who had a date night with her hubby. I don't know if I looked like someone she didn't like but she was SO aggressive and mean and it really scared me. Says it's closed, but it's not! The flying mueller brothers played here from 2-5. Beers are $5-7 and mixed drinks are 8-10. Get a rum bucket! $16for about 3 shots and some delicious mixers. Bartenders were very friendly. We followed the band in off the boardwalk. I have seen them many times in seaside and love them so I had to check em out in point pleasant! Jenks did not let me down. Even when the rest of our party showed up, they easily accommodated us with a table that had a equally nice view of both the beach and the stage. The chicken nachos kinda sucked to be honest.. but the chicken tenders were delicious. Food is not the purpose of this bar. Food should not be the reason you come to this bar. Come here for reasonably priced drinks on the beach and damn good live music.. both the bands they have play there and the music that Jenkinson's puts on the stage around 7 on Sundays. 101.5 Big Joe Henry talent show. If you don't mind partying with the cast of the Jersey Shore, along with assorted guidos and guidettes that occupy this part of the Garden State, check your brain at the door and then you will have a great time dancing the night away at Jenks to a good mix of rock, pop, hip hop, and house music. We usually make a few weekend summer getaways to Point Pleasant Beach and always look forward to spending a few nights here. The club is spacious, the mixed crowd is actually pretty chill, and the drinks are really cheap. Usually there is always some sort of beer and drink specials going on Fri and Sat nights. Even the bartenders are pretty nice. If hungry they run the dining area adjacent to the club with in and out privileges that is open until late. Open during the day too with great views of the beach/ocean and there are flat screens all around to catch a game. Some of the best times we have had here are when they feature cover bands such as The Nerds, Big Orange Cone, and The Benjamins. All these bands are really fun and the place is a big party when they perform. From what I have read there was big damage from hurricane Sandy but they have done a great job rebuilding the boardwalk and reopening Jenks. So we can't wait to possibly head down there this summer to take in a few weekends and party. We've always had a great time here. What's not to like? It's right on the beach, music is great, people there are nice, food is close, and the drinks are cheap. Just don't expect an overpriced pretentious Manhattan type club which is all for the better anyway. read more

It's open year round and you can enjoy the boardwalk/restaurant with elbow room. *Small bar in the middle to get a quick beer/drink. Only downside is it's a plastic cup and it's $6 for Sam...booo. *Bathrooms are so key and they are relatively clean. *Didn't really try the food since we went elsewhere. *Staff is normal. read more

I was here last Friday with my wife for an event on the beach (we brought the kids too, but they spent the day on the beach and the boardwalk) and was impressed with the set up and the staffing on an extremely hot day. The event itself was sponsored by a hotel, but the follow through on making the event great was done by Jenks. Just a quick word - we didn't actually PAY for any of this, we just got to enjoy! We checked in on the boardwalk, got our name badges and my wife introduced me to our host...who proceeded to tell us to drink up and that the food would be out in a few minutes. We cozied up to the bar and grabbed a couple of drinks (this is the part that's fuzzy because after three of them I can't remember what I started with...). Bartenders were GREAT all day, even in the heat. After sitting down in the shade, under the canopy, someone made their way up to the food and we followed quickly. The buffet included your normal salads (ha! Filler, not a staple for ME at a buffet like this), burgers and dogs, Old Bay shrimp (fantastic!), ribs (delicious, but a little sweet for me), chicken (didn't try it, but it looked great), steamed clams (and more clams...and more clams...and more clams MMMMMMMMMMMMM), and Whole lobsters (OMG this was such a great meal). I tried not to make a pig out of myself, but when there are clams I tend to overindulge. The event sponsor also had Maui Jim Sunglasses sales reps at the place which made for a very nice addition to the day. Went to Jenks for the first time for lunch/drinks. Overall, the experience was lackluster as the food was overpriced and our waitress might have been the most miserable employee in that establishment. We requested a table for 8 but were still waiting for 3 people to arrive. Regardless, they seated us even though we were perfectly content with waiting for the rest our party at the bar. Once seated, our waitress (named Quinn per the bill) constantly badgered us, demanding status updates on when our friends were going to arrive. She claimed her manager was getting impatient and we had to order entrées ASAP or else we would have to forfeit our table. If this was going to be an issue, why did you seat us in the first place?! Keep in mind the place was not even busy - there were plenty of empty tables and no "line out the door." Food was mediocre at best. I ordered the twin lobster rolls which are advertised with having large chunks of lobster. In actuality, the rolls come with ground bits of lobster with an imitation crab taste. It's pathetic and has no resemblance to the picture in the menu. Plus it's $17. Save your money, folks. The food and our perceived mistreatment left us with a sour taste in our mouths and, needless to say, we do not plan to go back, ever. I recommend avoiding this place - Tiki Bar is a better choice in my opinion. read more
