My two friends and I came here on the Friday night of Fourth of July weekend and had a great time. The music was really good, the drinks were great, and the atmosphere was exactly what you'd want from a beach bar. The owner was incredibly nice and went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience (and made sure we weren't leaving hungry ). It was a small act of kindness that meant a lot, and it's something we'll definitely remember. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Hampton Bays. I've been going to Beach Bar for years and the vibe has definitely gone downhill...The music is just bad now (super outdated) and the DJ ruins every good song, either by messing up the transitions or talking over it. He also won't take requests, which makes it even worse. Was body checked by a security guard on 7/13 around 11:15 pm. He was wearing braids pulled back, if they were down they would be right below his shoulders. He was maybe 250 or 300 pounds, 35/40 years old. He was wearing the black polo shirt uniform, his khaki pants were cuffed and tucked into his socks. I moved to the side as he was walking straight towards me and he then proceeded to move to walk into me. He had the audacity to tell me to watch where I was going and touched my arms in the process. I was walking next to my friend who also jumped out of the way and in front of a group of people who all witnessed and agreed that this was targeted. Was incredibly creepy and I did not appreciate the unwarranted touch and I am incredibly perturbed. I was sober (had drank half beer as a 25 y/o female). I told another security guard as I exited and they made me describe how I was touched. He was visually appalled and had the look of recognition in their eyes when I described what they looked like, BUT did not seem surprised by this behavior. I appreciated them hearing me out and them and other staff members were polite beyond that. While I don't expect them to take ownership for a colleagues behavior in the slightest, they also didn't seem to have agency to do anything beyond hear me out after I described what happened, which leads me to believe that this behavior is usual. The Beach Bar is a Hampton Bays icon and continues to serve the dance-hungry folk of the working people. A place unlike any other in the Hamptons, this dance bar is perfect if you're looking to revitalize your youth and resurrect the feelings of bliss brought on by that public university you went to and miss dearly. Likely the biggest dance floor in the Hamptons, this place is jumping every night I've been. The drinks are modestly priced compared to most of the other uppity joints in the Hamptons. I can't speak on the restaurant portion of the bar as I have only visited after it changes over. The indoor/outdoor feel of the bar is perfect for cool nights when the sea air is blowing in. My only qualm is DJ Fresh was a mild disappointment, the music was just a bit too loud and the song choices were questionable. After a run of great songs and momentum building, DJ Fresh would put on a stinker and ruin the vibe. My friends and I even have a running joke about it. As for the loudness, it is a club, but if you stand in the wrong spot on the dance floor you won't be able to hear anything for several days afterwards which is not ideal for recurring customers. Other than that I can't recommend it enough, the bar is filled with locals and tourists alike which achieves a great balance. Staff is kind and want you to have fun as much as anyone. I was physically abused by homophobic and unnecessarily aggressive bouncers. One of the most traumatic experience I've ever had at a bar. My boyfriend (I'm gay) accidentally tapped a bouncer on the shoulder. Realizing my boyfriend was gay, the bouncer pushed him and yelled at him to leave the bar. When we tried to talk to the bouncers in the front of the line to explain that my boyfriend literally just tapped a bouncer on the shoulder, six or seven bouncers attacked me, choked me, and called me a "cocksucker" since they knew I was gay. My friends and I were in town for my bachelorette party. At first we tried to eat here at 3pm on a Friday. Some of the staff were in the parking lot and could have told us it was closed. My friend and I walked all the way around and realized it was closed. We came at like 11:30pm last Saturday. There was a line and a cover of $10 per person. It is CASH ONLY! There was a ridiculous printed sign that said no bedazzled shirts, no white shirts, they spelled camouflage horrible wrong! The bouncers used a light and were taking a while looking at ID's. One told my friend you look much better with dark hair! Seriously?! We were told to come back on a Saturday because it is "throw" back music. It was not throwback at all. The music was jersey shore fist pumping and not good electric dance music. My friends and I were waiting for good music and it didn't come! The crowd was early 20's. My best friend and I were thanking our lucky stars that we had great guys! The scene was a sh!t show and could have been way better. We wanted to dance and celebrate my upcoming wedding. Since you're waiting in line security staff members are very rude. the Dj was good playing music but he stopped it every half minute always to discriminate people with homophobic and racist comments that was very disgusting! Beach bar doesn't support NYPD. Went the Sunday on MDW around 11pm. There was no line, pretty dead inside and two bouncers at the door. My friend, my boyfriend, and I approached the door and the bouncer immediately started with an attitude and told my boyfriend "you're 2 for 2 wearing a hat and jersey". Mind you my bf had on nice shorts and shoes with a brand new Mets jersey (they won that night in the 10th inning, LGM!). He told the bouncer "no problem I'll leave my hat in the car, sorry I didn't know about the jersey", then made a comment about them winning to lighten the mood. My boyfriend than asked if maybe he could do him a favor and told him he is an NYPD officer to which the bouncer responded "I don't give a fuck who you are. You work for NYPD. You mean nothing out here". He continued to be rude and curse at us. Meanwhile he could've just been like sorry man but it's policy, no jerseys. We left within 2 minutes. Such a shame to have no respect for a police officer. Happily will not be returning to beach bar ever again. Great place, just make sure to bring cash since they don't take credit cards. Good music !!! However, its so disorganized on the second day made sure that I had my card to make sure to get money only to find out that both ATM are not working. Had a great time the DJ was awesome. The bartenders where great. The people were great. It is the only Night In the Hamptons for the LGBTQ community. We are straight but hey it's a night out. This bar on paper is ideal for a hamptons night out. In reality, it was AWFUL! The service including the bartenders and bouncers were the rudest people i have ever encountered at a bar. They charged $50 minimum when using cards and were beyond rude when explaining that. Someone in our party stepped on a piece of glass that went through his sneaker. We asked the bouncers for a first aid kit and the bartender decided to barge in and say he didn't hurt himself and she wanted to see proof. Not actually open when they say they are. We literally called several months ago and were told it would be open during this "time in the season" so we rented the house across the street. Unfortunately it has yet to open. Apparently they open upon discretion of the owner. FYI. Yelp says they have been open the entire weekend (4:00pm-4:00am). Not true. Been coming to this bar everyday Friday during for the past 4-ish summers. Cool place to go, a little pricey though. What makes this place great is the layout of the club/bar. The club part of this place is located indoors, where there is a DJ and dance floor, couple of bars, etc. But then you can walk right past that and go to a large outdoor bar area. This doesn't have the club feel to it, so if you're someone who doesn't like clubs or dancing, you can still enjoy yourself here. Usually when I go with friends, all our guy friends skip the indoors part and just hangout outside, while us girls all go inside and dance. Everyone's happy. I think there's a $20 cover charge just to get in (I haven't had to pay though because I'm a bartenders guest list). The drinks are a little pricey too, around $9/$10 for a cranberry vodka type drink. Prob $6ish for beers (not a big selection). However, if you're okay with the pricey aspect of the bar, then it's definitely worth going to. Music is usually radio hits/techno. It's the kind of bar that anyone could really enjoy. People who like clubs and dancing will like going here, but people who are also more laid back will like it too. read more

If you want a low key night that still includes dancing this is one of the few options you have. The DJ is ok most of the time. I would definitely not pay cover to come here, if I don't pay cover in the city why would I pay cover on Long Island? Lol. Came to the Hamptons for a weekend in late July and came to Beach Bar on a Friday night around 1AM because it was one of the few options close by. The club is in the midst of a lot of houses, which can be confusing when you're driving there. There was a huge parking lot that was packed in the back. $10 cover and no wait. The club was actually better than I expected! It was packed and music was good (top 40s with a little edm mixed in)..there was some weird Christmas music because of the theme that night though. They really decked out the venue in Christmas themed decor like banners, huge ornaments, a Santa, Christmas lights, and a Christmas tree! Santa even took shots with the DJ at one point. That night the dance floor was even better than some clubs in NYC so we spent most of the time dancing. The bathrooms had no line, which is astounding for a club. There is also a huge outdoor area with a few TVs and bars. Inside has a fun club feel while outside has a chill bar feel. A great place to check out if you're in the Hamptons and want to go clubbing or hang out at a bar! read more
