We had mussels and beet salad, both of which were very high-quality and tasty. The building of what is now the Teahouse in Stanley Park has a rich military history, and is now a beautiful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, and even seating in what looks like a greenhouse! There was a wedding taking place when we arrived, and we were told that weddings are held there almost every day. We were seated at a corner table with a beautiful view of the ocean (from certain angles). My family ordered the Chicken Karaage as a starter, as well as the ribeye steak, Miso Glazed sablefish, and Roasted Chicken Supreme. All the food was fantastic, however my husband said that my son's ribeye tasted better than his. Our server was great, very friendly and frequently checked on us. Parking is available in front of the restaurant, but you are competing with other park visitors who are visiting the area. Pay for parking via the parking kiosk in front of the restaurant. While the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, I was dismayed that the restrooms are not wheelchair accessible and I didn't see any baby changing tables anywhere for those who are wondering. Teahouse in Stanley Park for brunch was perfection. I was a little nervous booking a reservation in a touristy area like a park, but I'm glad I did. This is no ordinary restaurant, it's an experience. The white table cloths sat crisp on each table with a stunning view overlooking Third Beach. We actually saw a bald eagle while sitting out front. Ample parking is available but you must pay at the pay station otherwise, you'll be greeted with an after-meal parking ticket. There was a wedding party in one of the dining areas when we approached the restaurant. Apparently, weddings are a big thing in Stanley Park. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Despite the busy vibes, attention was given to each table. General Manager Matt McLellan was buzzing around, making sure things were going well. Srger (sp?), our server was truly wonderful. He took time to make sure our meal was nothing but perfect. The brunch menu was speaking to us. The table ordered tea, a must at a teahouse. We also ordered croissants (4 in the basket for $12) that came with house-made strawberry jam. Outstanding! Brunch plates were filling, tasty, and eggs cooked perfectly to our liking. My husband took me to the Teahouse to celebrate my birthday. It was a lovely evening, and we had a great view of the water and were able to enjoy the Sunset. We had a lovely meal. A friend of ours had asked Teahouse to put the bill for the bottle of wine on his credit card. We shared an order of mussels as an appetizer. They were delicious in a nice tomato broth and served with bread for dipping. I was somewhat surprised that we were just given very small plates to put the empty shells in as usually the container for the shells is larger. I had the rack of lamb and it was perfectly cooked medium rare as requested. It was a very generous serving. My husband had the miso glazed sablefish. The fish was also delicious and perfectly cooked. By the time our entrees arrived it was dark outside and unfortunately it was very dark where we were seated and I could not see my dinner plate well. I needed to move the candle right in front of my plate in order to see well enough to cut the meat and find the vegetables on the plate. We told our server that we did not want dessert because I assumed that I would be given a piece of cake for my birthday. Unfortunately, we were just given a very small bowl of panna cotta. Service was okay. Maybe because there was a wedding party at the restaurant the evening we were there service was not a good as I'm used to receiving at a fine dining restaurant. Our wine was not decanted or topped up during the evening and I was disappointed that instead of the anticipated cake I was given a small dish of panna cotta. We went here in 1986 during Expo 86, and it's still as lovely as we remember. Whether is time for a dramatic sunset, or a cozy day with rain pattering on the glass roof, this is a special place in a special park in a special city. The menu harkens back to traditional time, with dishes like Steak Diane, but also a few modern dishes such as herb-crusted ware albacore. The arancini appie was great, but the kale caesar salad was a bit dry and the texture made it kind of hard to eat with a fork. For entrees the duck was delicious, though the carrots and broccolini were a little undercooked. The steak and prawns were excellent, fries were a tad underwhelming. Dessert was super rich and tasty. Service was awesome, our waiter was really kind and made sure I felt safe with my peanut allergy! Heard someone at the table next to us also dealing with an allergy request, so they seemed open to that kind of thing. We got a bigger table with two kids at our table and has a clear view of the water. We started with Stuffed Mushrooms which other patrons rave about. We were underwhelmed. They weren't sautéed or even cooked. Heavy on the cream cheese and light on the crab and shrimp. We loved the crispy Brussel Sprouts and the Cauliflower was OK. Two of us had Lamb which was delicious and I had Halibut. Excellent. Service was decent. We could not have asked for better. The staff were very accommodating. It was almost 5 PM and we were hungry/thirsty and came across , perched on a hilly spot with a view of the English Bay the Teahouse that offered to be a cozy and warm spot. We went here for dinner during the Dine Out festival. All the dishes we had tasted pretty good except for the dessert. Service was great. Parking is free after 6pm which is a nice bonus. I had a client in town only for one day on a cruise stop over. I met her at Canada Place and then walked the seawall through Coal Harbour and around Stanley Park. By the time we got to Third Beach, we were hungry, so I suggested we go to the Teahouse. It was such a lovely experience. Their lawn out front with Adirondack chairs is a very charming and lovely place to relax and take photos on a sunny day. We sat on the patio and ordered a couple of appetizers (stuffed mushrooms, and smoked salmon flatbread), a couple of mains (fish & chips and a Cobb salad), and a side of broccolini. We split everything. It was all delicious. The service was perfect, everyone was very nice, even when I spilt my water all over the table and had to move to a different table. I would definitely go back with other visitors in town or for a special occasion (but really every day is a special occasion right?). The only thing I wasn't sure about is that they didn't actually have high tea service on their menu. I hadn't thought of it until we had already ordered, otherwise, we may have gotten that. We were there at perfect high tea time too- 2-4pm. But that's ok. We still had a lovely and delicious time. I would highly recommend checking this place out. If you're wanting high tea, call ahead to see if they are serving it so you're not disappointed when you arrive. I'd recommend a reservation too.
