Don't! Turn around,…read morego to the grocery store, get yourself a cooked salmon and a bag of lettuce. You'll save ten bucks. 1. I had to finish my salad with a leftover egg I had in the fridge. 2. I had to add my own dressing. 3. Tail end of the fish which makes an improperly cooked fish even drier. Conclusion: Extremely stingy portions. Both Protein & Dressing. (SEE PIC.) Ok..... I had the Salmon Salad. The size of the salmon I would say was comical if I hadn't paid $19 for it. It was so overcooked and so thin that technically It could've been Salmon Jerky. The Salad itself, which was a combination of cabbage, shredded lettuce, cranberries and edamame with a tiny sliver of a small avocado cut in half on the side. lol. I mean honestly I can't take this review seriously. It was as if a 7 year old made me their first salad. Again, perhaps cute if It hadn't cost me $19. Service? Not great. Not terrible. They took my money and gave me my food. That pretty much sums it up at this Fish Market on Wednesday, April 8 2026 @ around 12 noon.

It's a fish market / mini take out seafood counter. A friendly young lady was there making the lunch specials right in front of you. My girlfriend introduced me to this place. She work around the corner. I meet her for lunch. We both got the seafood bowl with rice also can get with quinoa. Fresh fish and veggies. For $13 is was a deal. We took our food and walked down the beach and had our lunch. The fish was cook to order. We waited about 5 maybe 10 minutes. If you're in a rush my gf says you can call ahead and just pick it up. The rice bowl was yummy, had corn, avocado, onions, tomatoes, so on and topped with a spicy mayo sauce. Overall, I was impressed. I will be back.

Very cute mom and pop place The servers were fast and knew what they were doing. They had servers just for grating cheese and pepper and taking away plates and others just for taking your order Carpaccio (21) - we enjoyed the carpaccio. Not overly done with cheese or greens. Not too chewy either Prawns appetizer (22) - cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Could do with a little more vegetable Linguine vongole (26) - tasted like the sea. Noodles could have been less cooked but then again it depends on your audience. The clams tasted fresh and were sweet. Seafood pasta of the day (26)- had squid in it. Also tasted like the sea (in a good way). Pasta was the same as the one above except the toppings were different Arugula pizza (24) and Primavera pizza (24) - the pizza dough is obviously the same on both but both were delicious. Well cooked and chewy. The toppings were different. I preferred the meat one more just because I love proscuitto. Well balanced. Would recommend the pizza over the pasta Tiramisu (12.50) - pretty standard. Not overly sweet. Generous portion for the price. Wouldn't order it again Overall I thought the food was not bad and the service was pretty good. The seafood pasta flavours were something you can't make at home. The pizza was also good. This is a cute neighborhood joint. The prices are also good

One of those moments at the end of a lovely day and the conversation goes something like "where do…read moreyou want to eat tonight?" The thought of being downtown is awful...hot summer night, BC Lions game on, beaches packed. So over the bridge to West Vancouver and to Wooden Fish because it's there, it's reliable and the owners and workers there are kind. All they want is for you to enjoy the food, but - and this seems true of many family run Vietnamese places - there is a story they want you to be a part of. So the story of Wooden Fish is captured on their menu, and I share that below, because it's an important part of the experience of eating there. The food is great. A small bowl of spicy beef noodle soup hit the spot and I wish I had noticed the specials sheet because the satay soup bowl looked amazing too. They were out of the home made lychee kombucha of the day, but that's on me. They always sell out of it. I love the staff here. They care for you as a team. They make your day better. Let them feed you, feed your bellies and your heart. It's good food, not standard Vietnamese fare, but home touched, played with a little, offered proudly and quickly but with care and genuine gratitude.

He recognized her love for miso and he got us a whole bunch of extra miso soups. He was also very nice and acccommodating. I had a salmon toro and it was really good. Also had the salmon teriyaki - it comes in a big bowl with lots of veggies in it, seems more like sukiyaki as it's full of broth. The broth is really good too - I highly recommend it. Oh and they have two kinds of miso soup - including clam miso soup which my daughter really liked! The crispy oshi was much bigger than I remembered. Huge slices of avocado! Great place.

We'd been to…read moreanother restaurant across the street recently where she'd had katsu so I decided, let's go somewhere different this time, where she could get her katsu and the menu would have more variety on it for the rest of us who might not be in the mood for katsu. I tried something new this time. It was a cold rainy day so I was in the mood for a bowl of hot soup and noodles. I had a Vege Udon. My mom ordere the seafood Udon. So OK...I suppose soup and udon noodles isn't exactly trying something new as I've definitely had soup and udon noodles before. However, udon noodles are something I have rarely ever ordered over the years. Especially as Ramen seems to have gotten more popular over the years than Udon. Plenty of Ramen restaurants within Greater Vancouver, but how many restaurants in Vancouver specialize in udon? Not very many. I don't know why I don't order udon noodles more often. When it's a cold, rainy day I always think Ramen noodles but this bowl of Vege Udon was just as satisfying as any bowl of Ramen. Actually, maybe more so since I've had lots of Ramen over the years but hardly any bowls of udon noodles. This was a refreshing change of pace. They serve the udon noodles in what appeared to be a cast iron bowl. Simple yet so elegant. I loved the flavor of my broth. It was a nice, light broth. Not too rich, and it had a sweet flavor to it. I think I've just regained a new appreciation for Udon noodles!

It was served in a scalding hot bowl. The rice was crispy at the bottom and I was amazed at how well it retained its heat. Even when I blew on each spoonful to cool it down, it was still piping hot when it entered my mouth. My niece ordered some tacos and said they were really good. She said she had ordered them before so they must've been good indeed since it was a repeat order for her. My mom's Avocado Benedict looked really good. I will have to try ordering that for myself next time! Service was "meh". It was one of those situations where I could see our server but he was constantly facing the wrong direction. It was ages before I could finally catch his eye and flag him down.

The patio itself is in a beautiful spot and they've added patio heaters, which makes it comfortable even when it's a bit cooler outside. The food was good overall, and the menu is what you'd expect from Earls -- solid options with something for everyone. Unfortunately, the patio cleanliness took away from the experience. When we sat down, there was bird poop on my cutlery and water glass, which meant I had to ask the manager to replace them. After that, they brought out another glass that had bird poop on it. So, I also had to ask for the entire table setting to be refreshed so everyone had clean utensils and glasses. To make matters worse, there was bird poop on the couch cushion as well. I understand patios can be tricky with birds around, but it did feel like the table area should have been checked and cleaned before seating guests. Overall, it's still a nice patio, dog-friendly, and the food was good, but I'd recommend the staff do a more thorough check of the outdoor seating before guests are seated to avoid situations like this. The patio heaters and location are definitely nice perks, though.
