So the price of lobstah has spiked and so a 10 oz lobster roll probably shouldn't cost you $32, but given that, the Beach Plum does it right. So much Lobstah on that beautiful sandwich. Then you get this low class bag of chips, it is perfect. Finally you can walk across the street, sit on the ledge and eat your sandwich while watching the waves come in from the Atlantic Ocean. Can you get a better tourist / NorthEast experience than that? I think not. So don't worry about the price. Just enjoy the food and the wonderful service you will get. We've enjoyed this brand of Lobsta rolls and tried this location, it did not disappoint. I had the 8oz cold lobtsa roll, wife had 8oz hot lobsta roll. It's a lot of lobsta, I'd get the 6oz next time for better toasted bun to lobsta ratio, then again some argue never enough lobsta, so enjoy it. Kids got the kids grilled cheese which was tasty. Then we get soft ice cream. Let me warn you the pics are deceiving in how much you get. A half a kiddie can feed two after lunch. However, finding out it was over 3 mi each way discouraged me since I am new in town and not in half marathon training shape to have faith I would be able to walk back in the heat after lunch. So when we had to do laundry in Portsmouth on Day 4, I decided to grab a roll to go to eat in the car on the way to the Laundromat. Since it was right before 6, there wasn't too long of a line and many of those who were, ordered ice cream. For the lobster roll, you have a choice of 6, 8, or 10 oz of meat, while the foot longs start at 12 oz and goes up to 20 oz. Before long, I had my box with my 10 oz roll and a bag of chips that I held carefully in my hand like a priceless vase. If Red's Eats is the best lobster roll in Maine, Beach Plum is a contender for the best lobster roll in New Hampshire. Not impressed with this location's food. My wife and I went out for lunch (we are Hampton residents) on a fine May day and opted for The Beach Plum in North Hampton. This is a takeout-only, beach-side location, styled as an ice cream stand. This location is very popular in the summer with ordering lines stretching out to the street. She ordered the hot lobster roll, 4oz (one can choose how many ounces of lobster one wants to pay for), which is warm lobster meat and melted butter. They had a GF bun to oblige her Celiac Disease diet demands, so she was good to go. I went for the Haddock Sandwich. We found a picnic table a little shielded from the breeze (it was May) but in the sun so fine. Food came out in about ten minutes and we got to it. Her lobster roll looked pretty good and she was very happy with it. Potato chip bag is the side. My Haddock sandwich, on the other hand, was visibly a disappointment due to its perfect, narrow, triangular shape. Not a Haddock filet obviously and some factory fish thing. No cheese either which is usually found on such a sandwich. The fish flesh looked a tad dark to be haddock and I'd speculate Pollock. Take a look at the beautiful Haddock Sandwich picture they have on their online menu. Mine looked NOTHING like this and I would've been happier with a McDonald's Filet-O-Fish! On the other hand, I've had good meals at the Portsmouth Rt. 1 location where I've had the lobster roll and the clam chowder. I think I know now not to ever order the Haddock Sandwich. Friends raved about the ice cream so we went to try it. I got a small Moose Track in a dish and yes it was more like the size of a med to large but I was disappointed with the flavor. Mr G. got a small hot fudge sundae. Again a small size was big but both came to over $12 and we didn't feel wow'd. All the reviews about the lobster rolls but the prices seem really steep to me. The girl taking the orders could not speak up and I had a hard time hearing her speak which made ordering difficult. The North Hampton location has the view but the food is mediocre. We ordered the 10oz lobster roll. I like my lobster a bit sweet, this was not at all. We also ordered the Haddock sandwich, which was very small compared to the large Haddock you get at the Portsmouth location. We were disappointed and will go to Portsmouth for now on. read more

This is such a great location and a nice menu for a lovely afternoon beach day. The only reason I'm giving four stars is that The customer service was a bit off. Explanation: they have a discount program advertised on some signs there locally and as I was checking out, spending about $90, the discount wasn't mentioned to me and I definitely would've appreciated it. As I went back for ice cream, another 30+ dollars, I asked about getting the promotional discount but the lady nearly laughed at me and told me that it was only partially credited if you bought it on the same day as you wanted to use it but that you couldn't retroactively use it either. I felt like a dummy as I didn't see the sign or realize that I could've taken advantage from the get-go but I really felt like it was bad service when she did respond that I wasn't eligible. I've been to the Epping location, which I like for the indoor seating but if you want a beach side meal, this is a nice option. The second time, I had the jumbo lump crab roll which was crammed full of crab. It's the better bargain when it comes to seafood but lobster is lobster. The crab roll was filling for sure and came with a side of chips. The kids meals are cute and come with some bubbles. I got three scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone, which I did not expect to be so big. The kiddie bowls were as big as my waffle cone too. It's a good place to stop for lunch in the area, a little bit pricey depending on what you order. I may not be the best judge as I don't eat seafood. They have a really good selection of rolls, wraps and salads. I had the chicken salad roll which was pretty good, the chicken was cut a bit big to me for chicken salad but overall was fine. Ambiance here is fantastic cause it is almost right on the beach! Decent lobster and crab rolls and great ice cream options. If it's lobster rolls you are coming for they aren't the best in the 30 mile radius by any means but they are good. As a great way to end the perfect dinner and evening, our hosts took us to the Beach Plum for ice cream. The choices were endless, making it hard to decide what to order. I settled on a small sugar cone with Ginger and Rum Raisin ice cream. It was so large that I had to ask them for a cup to put it in. There must have been 6 + scoops in a "small". One can only wonder what a medium or large would be. My husband had Death by Chocolate and Peppermint Stick in a cup and our host enjoyed a sundae. Ok, this Beach Plum is a summer staple for many of us. I need to mention one woman who consistently makes a marked difference. From the tee shirts directing us to "napkins are behind you," to 1/2 Kiddie pics, so helpful, who knew I needed a 1/4 kiddie for my baby granddaughter to getting out there and washing the picnic tables I'm so impressed I finally asked her her name.
