I have frequented the Brewster/Orleans area on Cape since I was born ! I have driven by the Beacon Room a million times and just never been in! Finally last summer I came in and was so pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious the ambiance was relaxing, and the drinks were strong and good! Since it is tucked a bit off the main road it doesn't feel so Cape Tourist! I took my aunt with me this time, and once again delicious! She had the Cod with risotto which was fabulous and I had the Sole with curry and grape salad with Jasmine rice. I had the curry sauce on the side to try it out first, but oh man was it great! I've heard they may be up for sale, and I hope that whichever person takes over changes almost nothing! I especially love the for sale artwork all around! Highly recommend!

    Duck

Without a doubt, the best duck I've ever had! Came here in 2024 and came back to enjoy the duck again in 2025. Doesn't disappoint. The skin is so crispy and inside so moist. For apps we also had a scallop special over a bed of corn and fries. Both were good. My friend got the chicken parm in 2024 and also loved it. The service is always great as well!

3 rating based on my meal alone. Ambiance was cute. Had the veggie bowl. Waitress asked chef to swap out cauliflower with spinach and I added the shrimp. I got three shrimp. Decent size shrimp. Came over a lemongrass coconut broth. I had to ask for more. A bit dry. Could have used a bit more flavor. Boyfriend got the salmon. He enjoyed his meal.

Beacon Room is still very tasty. Prices are high, but the staff were friendly and efficient.

Stumbled upon The Beacon Room when exploring down Cape and we are so happy that we did. Many of the other restaurants in the area are closed for lunch, especially during the winter, so make sure you check this place out if you're looking for a good lunch spot. Atmosphere is fantastic. A bit on the fancy side, but you could also be casual. There is plenty of parking and a decent amount of tables. From the parking lot, it looked pretty busy but we were still sat right away as a party of 4. They have an extensive cocktail list, which we dabbled with. We ordered one of the mocktails and added gin which was phenomenal and also tried their Negroni cocktail, which was just okay. Out of everything we ordered, it was the only item that didn't impress us. For appetizers, we tried both of the soups; the clam chowder and their soup of the day which was a butternut bisque. Both were great, however we did need to add a bit of salt to the chowder to bring out the flavor. Their lunch menu is mostly sandwiches, but they all sounded delicious. I got the Reuben which was one of the best ones I've ever had and opted for the truffle fries ($4 upcharge). My husband got the Fish & Chips and we split both. Everything was delicious.

    Great duck $38 including sides.

We enjoyed our duck immensly. Service was also very good. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

The bread was served warm with very cute spear butter balls. Service was very slow! The waitress took the order of people who were seated after us order first and seemed annoyed when I told her I was ready to order. Food was good portion was ok size but could be more for the price. The atmosphere was very beautiful outside.

While I can appreciate the choose your own adventure / tasting concept and benefits of moving at your own pace, wine tasting is something where I'd prefer to have more of a personal touch. The storytelling and personal connection was missing, and made the experience feel a bit hollow. The space was a nice open hang and there's snacks and games, and there is staff there, but the experience made me realize I prefer a guided human tour for some things, wine tasting being one of them. Prices also snuck up on us a bit, it's easy to lose count of how many you've had with the card reader. I was also a bit bummed to find that if you liked a wine you cannot purchase a bottle on site. But I'm glad I tried it and had fun.

There's plenty of bike parking by the beer yard. It was a nice day so we wanted to sit outside and have a few beers in the Hog Island beer garden. Service was great. They were getting prepared for the busy season training some folks, and everyone was very friendly and hospitable. The beer garden itself was a huge grassy area with plenty of seating, a mix of picnic tables and regular tables with chairs. Despite it being right by the woods it didn't seem too buggy which was really nice. After hanging out a bit we decided to get dinner there. We were able to order food right at the beer garden and pick it up at the take out window. The food was awesome! We got a bowl of clam chowder, loaded tater tots, and the Rt 6 bacon cheeseburger with a side of greens. First, they're not messing around when they say 'loaded' tots! Some places put a sad little drizzle of cheese sauce on top, but theirs were thoroughly covered with a delicious beer cheese sauce, fresh bacon, and scallions. The clam chowder was great! Not too thick, lots of clams and clam flavor. And the burger was amazing! A nice, thick, juicy patty that was perfectly cooked, a really fresh brioche style bun with lots of flavorful toppings. We walked through the restaurant itself to use the bathroom and it seemed like they had a lot of seating, a nice bar, and a patio area. The only bathrooms being inside the restaurant was a little annoying, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they'll have some port-o-potties by the beer yard come the full fledged busy season. Overall a really nice time and we look forward to returning!

I'm usually there during off-peak (translation: cold) times, so I tend to gravitate towards more robust menu offerings. The French onion soup is quite good, with a nice beefy broth and a generous amount of cheese. It's nice that the restaurant offers bread, which is becoming a rarer occurrence. The entree portions are quite strong. The lemon flounder filets were nicely pan-fried and not overcooked. The seafood strudel has a good amount of seafood, including a lot of shrimp and smaller scallops. I don't think they have the cioppino anymore but that was also a quality entree as well. Service has always been friendly and professional. The servers are good at making friendly conversation without dragging down efficiency.

The sous vide veal breast was a miss. The ratio of meat to fat skewed too heavily toward fat. The diners I observed around me at the bar all left fat on their plates. That said, the sauce and spinach accompaniments were delicious. The bread, optional caviar, and dessert courses were brilliant. The wine pairings fell a bit flat, I thought--they were all good, but none compelled me to ask for more or to see the labels for later purchase. I loved watching the culinary theater from the bar seating. It was a bit more hectic than I recall from my last visit, but it was clear that the staff were working hard and collaborating effectively. A talented local artist's work on the walls here could definitely elevate the ambiance.
