The only issue we had as that it was so busy and we had to wait a long time to get our food. Loved the dining room in the front of the building. Nice and private. Came for lunch and I had the fish sandwich. It was delicious with home made tartar sauce. The fries were the best. Slim and crispy with a nice soft center. A local staple in Brewster, it is warm, cozy and clean. The service is personal and pleasant. This is a restaurant good for all ages. The fry cook is a master of the craft - the fries and the special deep fried oysters were a perfection of crispness and served piping hot. The chowder is a very tasty, traditional New England clam chowder. Plenty of butter and cream, well seasoned with a good ratio of minced clams and without chunks of vegetables or potatoes. We went there for dinner. I got the scallops, soup, and a beer (kolsch). Service was good. Food was good. Scallops were particularly good and the tartar sauce was excellent. I will complain about price to scallops, but I'm a cheap bastard. Also, the coleslaw was in a shot glass. The kolsch was excellent. For the cape, this hits on the seafood for seafood prices, and the tartar sauce and beer were in the top. Clam Chowder was solid too. What I liked: Great service, friendly staff. Normal food portions -- not the ridiculous-sized meals the yokels around here demand. Reasonable price. Homey atmosphere. What I didn't like: Ordered medium-rare burger and it came super rare. The thing was bleeding like it had a cut artery, lol. What a nice surprise! On a friend's suggestion we had lunch at Uncle Pete's and I could not be happier! When we arrived, shortly after noon, things were quiet. All in all, the place is nice. The ambiance is cozy, though very loud, despite the acoustic panels lining the ceiling. The food was pretty good. My husband loved the chowder and massive wedge salad. My fish and chip plate was a bit pricey, and the fish coating was very over salted. Fries were "meh" but edible. The coleslaw was mid at best. The service wasn't great. Our server wasn't able to answer some pretty basic questions and seemed in a rush to take our order. At least one of the other servers wore so much perfume, it was truly stinky: a bad idea in a food setting. The bar is lively, though, and full of what seemed like a happy local crowd, which makes me think the place is worth another try. read more

I have been waiting for awhile to go here to give it a try, since it changed hands. So much looked good. Im right down the road. So, I was hoping it would be as good as it looked. I do see other reviews feel differently than what I'm about to say. And , I'm glad they had a good meal. Mine, overall wasn't that great: the fried calamari appetizer, was overly salty in some pieces. Honestly, like just taking a tsp of salt in your mouth: I almost feel like it was 2 different batters and dishes combined. Some pieces looked crunchy and some looked smooth, there was so much difference in flavor with different pieces. When it came to the batter. We know it was calamari mixed with a ton of peppers . Almost $20 for an appetizer. It should've been good: but, with the salty pieces. And then, the fishy tasting pieces. We didn't even finish half of it. Nor, did we want to take it home. My meal was very bland. Now, I don't understand how a restaurant can offer various pasta dishes like, carbonara, vodka sauce, pesto... whatever. And not allow you to choose your meat if any at all. I had my eyes on the carbonara, carbonara is my absolute favorite. But, I don't even really like lobster. I really love Panko fried chicken. So, I asked them to combine them. The panko fried chicken from one pasta dish to another lol And, it was almost like an issue? The waitress, just kind of stood back, and voiced: " oh, I don't know. It might be too busy for that. That might be a problem I'll go check, etc.. We may not be able to do that." And, while, I do appreciate her going to check. It had a whole feeling of how dare you? All I did was ask if it was OK? I didn't even assume that I could order that. I mean, right there it already feels like things are not fresh or even maybe premade: Anyway, it worked out and they did decide that they could do that for me. With an added "this one time" And, I was happy with that. I guess. (Aside from the huge problem my small question seemed to be.) I think, I would've rather had been told it wasn't possible. Anyway, I was ultimately surprised when we were still charged for a lobster carbonara and not a normal chicken and pasta dish lol. I mean obviously the price point in the other dish was the lobster. That I don't care for. The thing was, I then looked forward to the fact, that I was able to get what I wanted. And then it came: it was super bland. I ate a little bit of it. And I took it home lol .. instead, I ate it today for lunch. I had to add a tab of butter, some Parmesan, some garlic and herb powder, minced garlic and onion powder. Also, red pepper flakes just for my own extra dab of spice. It was great after that. I also don't know if I have ever had carbonara with corn it, while it was a nice addition that o did like, it was unexpected. The way they still priced me on my dish. Has really nothing to do with the fact that they're charging $38 for a dish that is so bland and not even top notch good. I didn't ask if pricing would be based on a chicken and pasta dish . I guess, I just assumed. So, I guess that's my fault. But, I would've just ordered something completely different instead of paying $40 for a pasta and chicken dish . It also, never occurred to me that way.... Because I saw the panko chicken, vodka sauce dish. And specifically asked if it could be done as carbonara instead .. She was like so you want the lobster carbonara with panko chicken on top? And I was like no lol I like the Panko chicken, I don't like lobster and I like the carbonara. I'm wondering if we can just do panko and carbonara? Honestly, if I knew it was going to be such an issue to just ask. I would've gotten the Caesar salad and mushroom beignet instead. I probably would've liked it better too. lol Whether, it be lobster or chicken, the cabonara was just tasteless, the chicken was the good part of it. My significant other had the crabcake sandwich and he thought it was pretty good and it did look good. If I go back, maybe I need to get the fried chicken sandwich I don't know. The bill was over $90 after a beer and a Shirley Temple added onto that. I just don't think it was worth it. I would rather go to ukiyo and get a great meal for a 1/3 of the price. I think if they're going to have pasta dishes, they need to have different price points for different meats that are preferred, and, they need to learn how to add a little more flavor to their dishes. I mean, if a chef is so insulted you are asking to substitute a small change. He better, be really good. Anyway, this wasn't. The service was mediocre and of course we all know it's cramped there. It is what it is. I won't go back for another actual sitdown meal. Maybe, I'll try one or two things on takeout. Or, if someone comes to the area and just wants to grab a bite to eat maybe I'll end up there again lol .. but, I definitely won't be getting another $40 chicken and pasta meal lol read more

This restaurant was recommended by a local and we had a great meal! Two of us had the cod with polenta which was not only beautifully presented but also delicious! Our friend had the corn chowder which she loved and said the tuna nachos were also VERY good. We all agreed the key lime pie was excellent. The food and service are both good, but the dining room is VERY NOISY. I think this is due in large part to the fact that the carpeting, which used to absorb sound (as well as providing a homey atmosphere) was removed during the recent renovation and not replaced. read more

We had a very good meal here. The clam chowder was excellent. Had the Sandy Crab sandwich, thick and all crab, no fillers. We also ordered the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich which was excellent. They make delicious fries which comes with the meal. Reasonably priced and good service. The bar side gets very loud with "conversations" of local people, but it was fine. read more
