Cape Cod Friends (: we had a lovely time at Baleine's. Saw that they had local DJ's playing sets during the fall (2025) on Fridays and Saturdays but stayed for the freshest, local oysters, bar nuts and sublime white wine. I will def' be back to sample more of what they offer. Bring your empty tummy's they have excellent bar treats including caviar. Nom, Nom, Nom

From the moment we arrived, the hostess was warm, friendly, and welcoming. Our server, Jessica, was exceptional--she described the menu with such knowledge and enthusiasm that every entrée sounded irresistible. We were a party of four, and everyone absolutely loved the dinner they chose. The food was outstanding--thoughtfully prepared, beautifully elevated, and memorable in every way. My wife and I have had the privilege of dining at many Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, and The Pheasant easily ranks among those exceptional experiences. During our two-week stay, we enjoyed meals at many restaurants across the Cape, but none compared to The Pheasant. The menu is inspired, the dishes are refined, and the entire experience was exceptional. It has unquestionably earned a place on our "must return to" list whenever we are back on Cape Cod.

And we decided to try this weekend when my daughter came with a friend. We will definitely going back. The main complaint is that is hard to get a reservation. We started with calimari. It was pretty, but not exceptional. My wife had the onon soup. For main courses we had the beet and arugula salads, (the arugula with shrimp), the flounder and the crispy salads. The main reason I cam giving the restaurant 5* was the scallops. These were far from the typical fried scallops. They had a like panko coating, served with succotash, and were quite good, even by Cape Cod standards for scallops. The salads are both also very good. Service was attentive and not intrusive. It is a nice old house and has nice ambiance.

I've found this restaurant to be one of the best ones around. Scargo is one of the reasons why travelers shouldn't skip Route 6A. I'm usually there during off-peak (translation: cold) times, so I tend to gravitate towards more robust menu offerings. The French onion soup is quite good, with a nice beefy broth and a generous amount of cheese. It's nice that the restaurant offers bread, which is becoming a rarer occurrence. The entree portions are quite strong. The lemon flounder filets were nicely pan-fried and not overcooked. The seafood strudel has a good amount of seafood, including a lot of shrimp and smaller scallops. I don't think they have the cioppino anymore but that was also a quality entree as well. Service has always been friendly and professional. The servers are good at making friendly conversation without dragging down efficiency.

It started out great, 4:45 reservation, sat down, ordered, food took a little longer to arrive then expected, but whatever. It's Wednesday. Then it got busy. A large group of people at the front door waiting for a table. Our server wanted to turn our table and wanted us GONE ASAP. She started clearing our plates when we were not even done. Threw away the mussels I set aside for my sister on a side plate because she thought they were just shells. Threw away my son's chicken tenders that I wanted to wrap up for him. $725 tab for an awful, rushed experience. Happy birthday to me! A little kindness goes a long way. I asked if I could get 3 mussels to go for my sister, the mussels that I ordered and paid for that she threw away, and she said no. I would have to order another order and that wasn't possible. I almost did, but judging by how long the food took to come, I just couldn't wait for it. Never again. Also, no soap in the women's bathroom on both sides. A birthday dinner out with family should be special. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. It certainly won't be special here.

For an appetizer, we shared the sweet potato tempura stuffed with scallop and crab. It was light, flavorful, and beautifully prepared--an excellent start to the meal. For our entrées, the swordfish was wonderfully fresh and packed with flavor. While the accompanying potatoes were a bit dry and under-seasoned, the fish itself was outstanding. The seared tuna was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful crust and tender center, and the noodles complemented it perfectly. Fin has the charm of a historic home, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The bar is cozy and welcoming, though on the smaller side, so arriving early is a good idea. We were seated upstairs at a corner table, which provided plenty of privacy and made for a wonderfully romantic dining experience in a quaint and intimate setting. Our waitress seemed a little reserved at first but quickly warmed up and became attentive and engaging throughout the evening. Dinner for two, including tip, came in just under $200, putting it on the higher end of the price range, but the quality of the food, cocktails, and atmosphere made it well worth it. We will be back to try the oyster stew.

Entered to see basically dated everything, carpeting cared for like it was older than the combined age of my family, and the ambiance of a live performer sounding like a bag of cats. Seated promptly 20-30 minutes after our reservation. The waiter literally could not answer a single question about the menu. When challenged with what dressing is on the beet salad the waiter replied that it was a... beet salad. Tried the house salad, beet salad and a special buratta salad. House salad was one bite and done. Couldn't ID the dressing but tasted maybe like it has mustard, pine nuts and basil. Was weird and gross. One bite and done. The buretta salad featured a single slice of tomato and some prosciutto. Was advertised with roasted peppers that were no where to be found. Only one person had the beet salad and featured the same weird green dressing. Two of our party have seafood allergies. We couldn't get answer from the waiter on cross contamination so literally gave multiple entree options for them to work with and the entree selection ended up a surprise. Ordered a variety of entrees. Chicken parm was not eaten, a pizza had one slice consumed, a special salad concoction for a seafood allergy was not enjoyed, I had a pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe, which didn't kill me but I would never recommend it or attempt to consume again, and then two people had the Bolognese, which they said they enjoyed. Incidentally the waiter kept telling every diner about homemade pasta. There is no way the ziti or penne that was served in lieu of the linguine ordered was homemade. The menu is huge. That's always a red flag to me. Do fewer things really well and not 50 poor to mediocre things. It was very busy when we arrived at 630, but nearly empty before 8. The service was terrible end to end. The food was 80% terrible. It pains me to say it, but any chain Italian restaurant is better. We would not ever return...

Our server was so nice and friendly, as was literally everyone who came to our table. It felt like eating at a friend or family's house. It was just so comfortable and there's something to be said about that. The menu is short and sweet, one page. Everything except for the dishes at the bottom were small plates. So we ordered 5 small plates (shaved comte cheese, tuna crudo, fried oyster, Jonah crab salad, cape cod biscuit) and 1 large plate (Halibut). They don't have a full bar but offer wine, beer and canned cocktails. Everything was amazing, most notably the best Tuna Crudo I have ever had. So tender and fresh!! It was in an almost like Italian dressing type sauce with fresh basil. Wow, the flavors were delicious. It was so good, we ordered another one!! Dessert we did ice cream and cheese cake. We ended up there on a Wed (happened to be our anniversary) so I only experienced the à la carte menu. Highly recommend reservations as it's a small restaurant. Parking is limited but you can park in the lot of a nearby furniture store ( across the street and a half a block east). Our server ( Maeve) is very pleasant and helpful. All staff members we encountered greeted us and seem happy to be working there. Not a full bar but many nice choices. We enjoyed Pinot noir from Oregon. We had delicious oysters, a fresh salad, Portuguese clams, and a swordfish dish. Also had a "fancy" Hoodsie dessert that was quite good. All our items were first rate. Other dishes served at neighboring tables also looked great. Noise level in restaurant is very tolerable. Pricing seemed very reasonable given quality. **** It merits stating that this restaurant( Lune) is well staffed for the number of customers they serve. We had terribly slow service the night before at Viera on Main ( Chatham) because they don't have enough staff. Lune provided very attentive service to go with their high food quality and flavor.
