Such a cute place with a good menu. So many options I had a hard time picking what I wanted (which is a good thing). I ended up ordering a the super bowl and the almond joy latte. The super bowl was good even with me taking out the cheese (made it a dairy free option). The almond joy latte was good as well, but not sure it fit my idea of an almond joy flavor. Service was quick being they were busy. One of the servers read my mind about needing a Togo cup for my latte and gave me the cup before I even reached the front to ask for it. Have not heard of this place until yesterday and I can say this place is amazing. Food was great, staff were very helpful very polite and friendly. I ordered the turkey wrap. The only complaint I have is the filling was very small compared to the giant size tortilla they use. If you want your customers happy fill'er up Josefina!!! My husband ordered an omelette. It look great, but the potatoes were overcooked and dry. My cousin ordered the Devil Desert now that looked delicious! All in all breakfast was pretty good. I could not resist taking home a blueberry muffin and a tart!! Very delicious! I would recommend going there. Very small inside, but there are tables outside to sit in the cold during the winter if you like. Otherwise you will have to wait for a table. read more

Was taken there by friends who really enjoyed it when it was "Josefina's " only. Four of us had the usual breakfast of omelette's, fried or scrambled eggs and potatoes with toast. Two fancy teas, and two regular coffees with a $5 tip.....$76 total and we were expected to bus our own table, my regular coffee came with one free refill of which I needed to leave the table and go to the counter to get my refill. Food and presentation were noticeably less than I get at home, service...nobody came by to ask.....when I asked for some sort of hot sauce I was directed to packets of Cholula...come on folks this is NM not TX or AZ. read more

The service was amazing. The turkey pesto sandwich was very delicious. The chicken salad sandwich was a bit dry and chicken was tough. But it was fresh. The green chili pozole was very spicy. I liked having a choice of sweet and unsweetened Jamaica. My little dog loved hanging out in the patio. I have a different experience with the Bean in a different location (much less positive than at this location), so I will try and keep this review strictly to this location - personal disclaimer It is a quaint little spot which smells absolutely lovely when you walk in. The indoor seating is a good size, but there is way more outdoor seating - great in the mild Las Cruces weather. The people were very nice and helpful since I had a bit of a time deciding on what to eat. I personally do not like how much potatoes are in breakfast burritos generally, but they were understanding and put only a tiny amount for me which was perfect. I also selected the green chili to go with it as well as a Matcha Latte. One of the friends I was with ordered a muffin which we all shared. My burrito was absolutely delicious and I practically inhaled it with my green chili. I did not like my Matcha Latte because they added sweetener to it which was kind of over-powering. To me, the muffin was kind of terrible. It was really hard and tasteless. I think the sweetener they put in the matcha should have gone into the muffin. The burrito and the ambiance of the outdoor seating though, I definitely recommend. read more

Just when I thought this place could not get any better they go ahead and pick one of the best locations in the area. Their menu is one of my favorites because they have the vegetarian options I look for plus they accommodate some dishes to not include meat. It's not like before where you would sit down and then order. Now you have to order and then sit down. Just a quick tip until we are all familiar with the new system. The parking is not the best but nobody cares when walking in Mesilla is a great experience by itself. The employees are always helpful and kind. The menu is simple which is a huge plus. Tucked away in one of the side streets of Mesilla a part of Las Cruces, New Mexico is this wonderful little pocket of liberalism and healthy cooking. The restaurant itself is wonderful with a book rack to borrow or donate books, a menu that is very earth friendly, a staff that is helpful and enthusiastic about the food they serve and a variety of flavors and drinks to choose from. I had several options I wanted to try and ended up picking the breakfast burrito and the lavender and honey latte. The burrito itself was a little smaller than I would have liked and with the bacon and other ingredients in it, it did taste a little too salty. The potatoes could have used more time on the grill as they were slightly undercooked. The burrito, while very good could have used more variety in flavors and textures and it didn't come with any side items like fruit, plantains or a small salad. Honestly, I would recommend this so that you have something to clear the pallet between bites. Maybe some pineapple or melon. Not a lot, just enough to take a dozen bites or so. The latte was made from an American ground coffee which left a slightly bitter after taste even with the lavender and the honey to help mask the bitterness. I would recommend switching to an espresso ground and possibly a Cuban or European coffee supplier since these coffee beans are less roasted and have a tendency of offering a richer less bitter base to work from. Don't get me wrong, the food here is good. It's just not as good as it could be. They has clearly been a lot of thought and effort to create this wonderful little spot in Mesilla, why not deliver the absolute best and become legendary! If I ever find myself in this area, I'll be certain to stop in again and try their salmon sandwich and their chicken salad sandwich which the cashier did recommend and assured me it's done if the best of their menu. Considering that Josephina's can't figure out their business model from hosting the public to hosting nothing but corporate parties to turning into a coffee shop with a pared down menu, it's hard to distinguish what exactly they're up to. I went for brunch this morning and it was good. It doesn't seem quite as hoity toity as the old Josephinas. The atmosphere was relaxed and the coffee was good. I ate a blueberry muffin with coffee and then had a breakfast burrito. The muffin was wonderful. The burrito was what you typically find in town for breakfast burritos. It tasted good but was atypical. The salsa that came with it was good. A person can either order it red or green. I got red. It was fine. Personally, I'm not a fan of flour tortillas but that's what everyone makes burritos using. Parking, well it's Mesilla and a weekend. Your call. The servers bring drinks and food to the table. However, if you want cream and sugar for coffee you have to get it yourself out in the lobby. Overall I enjoyed the brunch and it was relaxing and I came away satisfied.
