I became a fan of Corner Bakery Cafe thanks to my time at UCLA. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this location on a long trip and simply had to order breakfast! Items were packaged as usual for carry out, meaning the very tasty bacon is in greasy paper. Aside from that, the pancakes are easy to eat on the go in a plastic container. I usually dont have issues with this place, but I ordered food online today and found that they charged me for things that I did not receive such as my chicken on my Cesar salad! :'( They also forgot my brownie bites until I let them know they werent in the bag. Food was not great. My husband got the grilled cheese and it was rather sad. Small, overcooked without much cheese. The accompanying Caesar salad was wilted and looked old. Ordered the full pancake breakfast. Bacon was overdone, severed cold and could not chew it. The scrambled eggs were cold and tasted as if from a C ration can. We also ordered a avocado wrap but was too soggy to eat. An expensive breakfast with over half thrown out. Before I moved away, this was my favorite lunch spot in Las Cruces. The food was always tasty, especially the sandwiches and salads. This is the office's stand by place when Le Rendezvous isn't open. Decent lunch menu with the half sammy and half soup. I do really like their tomato soup. The rest of the stuff we usually get - salads (it's a salad), Paninis (usually good but nothing extra) and the vanilla sweet cold brew (delish) - are your basic chain grub. It's good and filling but it's not got any extra touch or flavor. Ya know. But they have a great staff that helps you carry the office order to the car and it's not super expensive. This is the only place I go for a salad when I'm in Las Cruces. My salad was excellent. better than any place in both Las Cruces and Albuquerque. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Just had lunch here after not having been here for awhile. I got the "choose two" option, with a sandwich and a generous SW salad. Hubby got the same salad as a meal. In the past, we've had good luck with all their offerings. Today, the salads were pretty scowlly. The lettuce was very close to compost. We ate the toppings and left the rest. We even spoke to the manager, who asked what she could do to make it up to us. My husband said use fresh ingredients, next time. Neither of us felt she really cared. We have to credit the bus girl who summoned the manager. She was very courteous and caring. However, we won't be returning any time soon. read more

Was pleasantly surprised by this place! Ordered their chicken, walnut, and blue cheese salad on the first visit and it was HUGE! They accidentally gave me 1 wrong dressing, but the correct one was delicious and came in a decently sized container that was enough for the whole salad. The following day, my team decided to order from CB again. I got a half BLT and their Asian salad with avocado. I wish the half BLT had been bigger and the salad smaller! The BLT with avocado was delicious and the salad was good, but felt like it was missing something. Still, next time I go to Las Cruces, I'm sure we'll stop by again! read more

I really want to like this place but it just falls short. The girls at the front counter rush you to order and they're not all that friendly. Just impatient. Our sandwiches looked so good in the picture but again, fell short. They arrived with plain old white bread that slid off the sandwiches. Presentation is everything! It looked like both plates slid and tumbled and nobody bothered to fix them. The coffee was good and the sweets look spectacular so maybe stick with sweets to go, skip the rest. read more

From my experience, the staff went beyond expectations yet bathrooms look messy, workers looked stressed, and the impression of the majority that dine-in look like they are retired and might have the ability to talk you to death if you get them upset, what a super power. I needed somewhere to grab lunch and work on my laptop a bit. This place was perfect. I ordered a Green chili chicken panini on sourdough and Asian salad with a side of Edamame salad. Sandwhich was warm and tasty. It had the kick of real green chilis that I love. The edamame salad was sooo delicious.. that could have been my salad! I am a proud veteran and went to the Corner Bakery on Lohman today to find out they do NOT offer a military discount which is their prerogative. That being said this restaurant is owned by the same franchisee which owns the Tucson location. What I find deplorable is that in AZ the military and veterans are recognized with a military discount. Las Cruces restaurant does not. This simply put sends the wrong message. Is the active or veterans blood different in Las Cruces New Mexico? Do they believe our money or patronage is not as good as those in Tucson? read more

We had our first experience dining at the Corner Bakery Cafe today. Five of us met there for lunch. I had the 1/2 panini (Sliced Meatball) with a cup of clam chowder and my wife had 1/2 panini (California Grill) with a cup of tomato basil soup. Our meals came with a pickle and a small bag of potato chips. My selection came with a small bowl of marinara sauce to dip your panini. Both of our meals were very good. Service was very good.
