Cute family run wine bar/restaurant with an amazing menu. We stopped for lunch after visiting Crater Lake on our way to Dunsmuir and so glad we did. It's run by a husband and wife and we had such a lovely conversation with the wife (sor Im not so good at remembering names). Service was so friendly and menu recommendations were spot on! A definite must try is the carrot curry soup - it doesn't disappoint! We also had the Tuna melt and Gerry's grinder sandos. The food was all fresh and delicious. We wanted to love this place because it is so dang cute & interesting and the staff was great too. Came on Sunday brunch and had the korean burrito and the BLT. The korean burritto wrap was falling apart and the flavor needed a punch like add a bimbimbap sauce or some kind of korean flavored sauce with some korean chili flavor. The slaw on the side was not great and just tasted like vinegar and paprika. The BLT was on a small fresh roll but was also falling apart and made it hard to eat without making a mess. The bacon had no smokey flavor and the cream cheese was a little too much so changes I would make is stronger bun, bacon with more smokiness, maybe some picked red onion to cut the richness. I checked out this spot a couple of times since it opened in a cozy lower-level spot, and the flavor profile delivered every time. On a staple signature night out even that is Medford's Third Friday, I joined a couple of friends for wine and appetizers here, and I chose the nonalcoholic rosé, which was delicious, and I appreciated that they had that option. My friends really enjoyed the wine selection; the in-house seasoned popcorn, which I got to try, had an interesting cinnamon-forward flavor. The food came out very quickly, it was in fact the server behind the bar who recommended the rosé to me, and I can't wait to come back here for the deviled eggs with the candied bacon accents. read more

Quiet unassuming staircase leading to heaven. Take the stairs! Enter the warm inviting cozy space. Head to the bar to look over the menu and order. Do the soup flight. Do it. Three bowls of delicious well spiced and hot soups. My favorite was the curry. The pozole was delicious and the third I loved but cannot for the life of me remember the name. We also got the deviled eggs. My husband loved them so much we got the kit on the way out. He ate half of them for breakfast. He ordered the cabbage roll special. I cannot stress enough how this was *Not* the one your mom made. It was better- I said it. Soft cabbage wrapper, well seasoned filling sitting on top. We walked in to an attractive, cozy restaurant, wine and champagne bar, that also offers grab,n,go and frozen dinners. The waitress was engaging and we ordered 2 soups, mushroom and beef barley. Wow! Fresh comfort food. The tuna melt was finished in a panini press and the filling was delicious. Mid-afternoon lunch with family, 6 adults, 1 toddler. Very accommodating. Coconut curry soup was amazing. Salmon on leafy lettuce salad with feta cheese was wonderful. This is the perfect place for after work drinks with the girls. I love the silent book club nights. It's nice to have a place in the downtown area I would go to alone and feel completely safe. I ordered a dirty martini and asked if they have blue cheese stuffed olives and the cocktail menu designer told me she would make it happen! That is above and beyond! read more

If you haven't checked out The Beatrice yet.... Do it now! I'm obsessed with this new restaurant/wine bar. The atmosphere is such a cool vibe to have a business luncheon, meet up with friends for a glass of wine, or chill by yourself! The food is so fresh and delicious! I eat plant based which can be challenging, but the staff is more than accommodating to tweak dishes to meet any dietary considerations! My two favorite dishes are the beef bulgogi lettuce cups which they sub tofu for me. I'm not typically a huge tofu fan at restaurants because it's seldom cooked well, but the folks at The Beatrice have mastered it. It's cooked perfectly every time! My other favorite is the power salad minus feta with extra "stuff"!!! I always order both so I have the salad for later. I know when food is prepared with the best ingredients like fresh herbs, veggies and seasonings. Again, the Beatrice is all about really good food!!! This cute new spot in downtown Medford is located right below Pomodori. They take great pride in cooking scratch made, globally-inspiref dishes including salads, flatbreads, soups and many shareable choices like toasts, Candied Bacon Deviled Eggs, and Cheese Board. I had their Soup Sampler that was perfect for me because I always want to try all the things, Gary had the Flatbread special that came with a choice of soup or salad the. We shared the Crab Fondue. The space is cozy and comfortable, perfect for date nights or just hanging out with friends. They change their menu seasonally and serve wine, beer and cocktails and have a great selection of non-alcoholic options. If you'd like something quick and to go, they have a pantry stocked with ready made dishes along with a large selection of beverages. I'm "late to the party" but I now know about The Beatrice! Busy lunchtime crowd but the food came out in short order. My friends with the Power Salad loved the fresh ingredients and perfectly dressed salad. Tuna melt was delicious. My Spring rolls were fresh and tasty - perfectly cooked shrimp and great dipping sauce. We shared Salted Caramel truffles for the birthday girls - that sweet treat will be hard to pass up on my next visit. I'm looking forward to perusing the wine offerings at a later date. read more

This restaurant has great potential, but it doesn't quite live up to it yet. The menu is lovely, with creative salads and interesting soups. The carryout fridge is a great idea. I wish the contents had been more attractive. The soup bar is nice, with bowls close by. Does the food live up to the yummy description? Not quite. But it is worth waiting to see how it all progresses. The service is strange. No one greets you, forcing you to figure it all out by yourself. Is it counter service? If so, where do you go? Do you get your own food, as in the soup bar? Do you get your own napkins and silverware? The server is extremely friendly, but not entirely helpful. The furniture is cobbled together fifties and sixties midcentury cheap, on the verge of being nostalgic but mostly uncomfortable. The crockery and the linens are first rate, though. There is a lot to like at the Beatrice. I want to have a food experience in Medford that is new and creative and fun. I hope The Beatrice gets there. read more
