My friend asked me to brunch and I always wondered about it. So happy we went! Service was so lovely and attentive without being intrusive. The food was so good. A bit of everything. My girlfriend had the avocado toast and it was lovely with a fruit side. I got a French dip with the thought in mind of what would last into the next day. Did not disappoint. Ok, we pulled off the highway and searched out a breakfast spot. This was a nice and easy find. The decor is very festive, bright, wild...fun! Music, lights, atmosphere with truly friendly staff. I believe they have barstools on one end of the restaurant but we sat on the opposite side. Anyway, we were only in for a quick bite. Food came out quick, nicely plated and delicious. Having eaten in many restaurants throughout Mexico and the United States, I would list this one as one of the best! There are all of the classic dishes and the breakfast and dinner menu and their sauces are excellent. Most Americans will find both salsa Roja and salsa Verde very approachable - not too spicy but not bland. I cannot speak to the Mole nor other sauces because I haven't tried them yet but I would suspect they are good. Atmosphere is very cheerful and well done in a modern architectural style . There are classic Mexican works of art and a professionally lit up full bar. My wife and I both thought the house margarita was excellent. We had Herardo as both our breakfast and dinner waiter and he was perfect - including very witty and entertaining! What more could anybody hope for in a restaurant? read more

Oh my goodness! I love Frida's! Our kids brought us here tonight for the first time and we will be back. We're from So Cal and we're used to good Mexican food. We've been coming up here for 30 years and my husband just proclaimed Frida's the best Mexican he's ever had in G P. Went to brunch with my family of 5 other adults. The restaurant was about half full, not very busy at all. We ordered our drinks & our sister also ordered coffee when my wife & i ordered our coffee. My wife & i got our coffee almost immediately but our sister didn't? No big deal we thought but our waitress didn't return w/in a few minutes to bring her her coffee? We waited about another 10 minutes before another waiter arrived to take our order. Before we ordered we requested again my sister's coffee & he said he'd get it after we give him our orders. While we were waiting to order, another couple was seated adjacent to us. They ordered mimosas. We placed our orders w/o any major modifications with the exception of extra jalapeños in my omelet. So we wait... and wait.... and wait. One waitress came by once in the 25 minutes we waited fir our food & refilled water & coffees. My sister still hadn't gotten her coffee we'd asked for twice. Our food finally arrived except for 1 person & my English muffin. The polite thing to do was to wait until everyone received their food? It was another 10 minutes before the missing order arrived & i had to ask again for my English muffin, which arrived warm but untoasted? Consequently, the couple that was seated next to us & ordered after we did & received their food before my sister's food was delivered? When i dig into my omelet, the extra jalapeños i requested were not only missing, there were none? My wife ordered calamari which on the menu stated it came with a red sauce (later to be determined some kind of fry sauce) but also tartar sauce? My wife asked for cocktail sauce & the waiter gave a dumbfounded look as if he didn't understand what cocktail sauce was & asked if she wanted tomato juice? Additionally there was no tartar sauce on her plate either but noted on the menu it came with it? Overall this was a poor dining experience. We didn't get what we ordered but because of the poor service just didn't bother to try get the issues resolved. There was a sense of disorganization with many staff congregating near the bar instead of checking on the customers. The waiter who took our orders didn't recall who ordered what as he passed out the checks? And lastly, the service & follow up was almost nonexistent. I read the great reviews & gave this place a shot. We won't be returning again. At $25 each for the wife and i, i expected more. We should've went to black bear diner, paid less, have better food & better service. Save your money & go elsewhere. read more

Surprisingly good! Big shock when we walked in. Cute and cozy, it felt opened and doesn't feel heavy or crowded. Amazing coffee. I had their veggie omelette, very delicious-well cooked and presented. My bf had their Baja tacos-one shrimp and one fish. He was very happy. They were also delicious. Yes, I was very impressed, since I live in California and we have lots of Mexican places in our town. We have been here for breakfast twice now and both times have been fantastic. The food is great and the attention to detail does not go unnoticed. The people who work there could not be any friendlier. They own another Mexican restaurant in town and I am so happy they have expanded.
