This place is disgusting. Immediately upon coming inside, I was greeted with a horrible sulfuric sewage smell. I remembered my gallery had this issue from a dried out sub pump, so I brushed it off. Unfortunately, it was a telltale sign of things to come. I waited 45 minutes to be seen. A little jarring, but fine. They had one nail tech on hand and she had great reviews on Yelp. So I'm waiting and begin noticing how dirty this place is and begin to get really nervous about getting my nails done here. My nail tech runs the water for me in one of the two pedicure stations and I go to sit down. The basin was FILTHY (see pictures), the area around the manicure station was not cleaned and full of clutter. I did not see any implementation of sanitization of the tools used from person to person. The last straw was looking behind my chair to see a HUGE COCKROACH hanging out. NOPE! I hightailed it out of there... which was super awkward because there were only four people there & I said I was called into work to avoid confrontation... I haven't written a Yelp! review in months, but this place was so offensive that I feel inclined to share it because the stellar reviews brought me here in the first place.. and I really felt cheated out of my afternoon. This place is a shithole. Avoid avoid avoid!!! Came in for a no chip with lifebooker. The girls were rude and ghetto. They acted like it was an inconvenience that I was there and did a craptastic job. I reported them to lifebooker and they called "to get feedback", but what really happened was the boss was trying to convince me that she is a professional. Sure, if you consider wearing jeans a few sizes too small and have your ass crack hanging out, we'll go with that. I think she was the owner too. I will never, ever EVER return and will tell everyone I know to avoid. They haven't a clue how to treat clients and they don't know what they are doing at all. Beware. I went there to get my roots touched up... just a medium brown color, nothing complicated and the stylist gave me hot roots. In other words, she turned my hair orange at the roots. I had to sit and wait for another color to process and its still isn't the right color. In addition to that, I got a no chip manicure that started chipping the very next day. Aside from that, the salon was very well decorated and the people who own/run it were very nice. I definitely felt comfortable there. I've been to this Salon 4 times for both no chips and pedicures. I've booked each time with Lifebooker. Each time I go it is consistent. What I like: *Every one is very friendly. I feel like I'm at a neighborhood salon, there is nothing commercial or uptight about it. Every one talks to each other, there is music playing on the radio. *I love being offered something to drink. They always have wine. * The nail technician's are always nice and conversational. *They are fast. It is a good place to go for an inexpensive manicure that gets the job done with out any frills. The no chips last 2 weeks. What I don't like: *Not a good place for a pedicure. The pedicure station is dirty and my *Not a good place to go with a friend. When I went there was only one pedicure station so my girlfriend and I hate to wait for the other to finish. *They give you a DRY manicure. No massage, no scrubs, no lotions. A little bit of filing, maybe cuticle trimming, and then the polish. This isn't the place to go to feel pampered. *They don't have lamps at the manicure stations! They do your manicure without extra lighting. I end up with different shades of the color on each nail. *The application of the polish is uneven from nail to nail. Will I give them my business in the future? *Only because it's in my neighborhood. If I lived more than a mile from here I wouldn't travel out of my way. *Only if I want to get a new color, not an actual manicure. *Only for a no-chip manicure *Only if I have a coupon, I'll never pay full price here. read more

This place opened up last week and my good friend, great hairstylist Rafael works there so I decided to give it a try. The decoration is amazing, absolutely beautiful. It is a family owned business, and everyone is so friendly and nice. It has a welcoming atmosphere, which many high end salons lack, and thus make your experience just blaaahhh. If you want a great hairstyle/cut/color with some champagne, may I add, this is your place to go. Now, about Rafael. His passion for hair is out of this world. If you want an extreme makeover, something completely different with your hair, he is your man. I change my hair color very often, and just love different styles. He is always willing to work with me, recommend different styles and so on. Did I mention, he is honest? Most hairstylists, will do what you want, he on the other hand, does what is least damaging to your hair, might take a bit more time, but so worth it in the end, especially if you are like me, and change your hair color often. Love this place! The decor is great, its not too big, not too small. I went to get acrylics from Lex. She was sooooo detailed in everything from length to cut to color to care, etc. I absolutely love my end results. I posted a pic! I got a sport cut with square tips. She was very conversational, and not just chit chat stuff like the weather. We talked about the nails throughout, what she was doing, what I should and should not do afterwards, and when I should come in next for fill ins. For the full set I paid $25, which I was so shocked by. It was nice to talk about things we had in common, and we learned about each other, which I love. The whole process was long, but that is because she really took her time and wanted it to be perfect. I got polish on, not no chip, just because of the color I wanted. Anyway, my appointment was at 2, started around 2:15, and I think I left at 4:30. Yes, long, but I am so thrilled by my nails. It's been almost a week and they still look new! I was mainly sold on Salon La Rouge for the Yelp reviews PLUS the fact it is only a building or two down from my apartment...basically right next door. Proximity is definitely a plus. I went in on Monday to take my med. brown hair to a lighter, natural sun-kissed dark blonde color after making an appointment on Lifebooker. After showing the stylist Eric a few photos of the color I was looking for and short conversation regarding the history of my hair, he said he'd be right back and went off to mix the 1st batch of color which was going to be just single process. Long story short my hair was processed THREE times that day and I left the salon with a yellow/brassy-orange hair after wasting the entire day. Terrified to go back, an owner, Lulu said she would fix it first thing the very next morning. I went back in at 9am the next day with a very VERY sensitive scalp and 3 times-over damaged hair from the previous days amateur attempt at my request. Lulu ensured that I would leave happy and the photos I showed him and she were attainable. We went through applying foiled highlights and a full color process. Although my color request did not change for natural dark blonde hair, I left the salon that morning with red, brown and white skunk streaks in my hair and the color isn't at all even. The under side is brassy and yellow (I can't wear it up to work). The staff was very friendly and nice, but don't let that deceive you as for their skill level. The professionalism and knowledge base of coloring was minimal and damaged hair is the result-MY damaged hair. I felt like I had gone to a beauty school without an expert watching over to assist if things weren't going right. Now my hair has been completely processed 4 times in the span of 16 hours and looks a hot mess. I need to still get it fixed. I spent over 9 hours in this salon and left with damaged embarrassing hair twice. I would advise you stay away if you value your hair, time and expectations when entrusting, what you are lead to believe are, professionals. I was still, unprofessionally, asked to pay the $55 for the Lifebooker appointment because they had used product/hair dye. An experimental 10 yr old could have achieved any/all of the results I saw in this salon's mirror at home, but I went to what I thought was a professional. It's the stylists JOB to choose the correct color to achieve the desired results, not the customers; I should not have been charged. AND I, the customer, now have to live with the monstrosity on my head until I make yet another appointment with a trustworthy salon. Accessories/shoes for retail are displayed in such way that it becomes part of the décor!! Cute & organized... It even smells nice!! The nail tech is an ARTIST!! CRAZY INCREDIBLE! I just did a simple mani/pedi, but she can work crazy designs on acrylics (pics added). The esthetician gave me a free "facial assessment" while I waited, that was awesome and yes it worked, I booked a facial. I called one day deciding that it was time to get my hair cut since it was life-less from the dry heat of winter. There was no natural curl left in it! I decided to give it a go when I made the appt and was told that Jazmin would be able to do my hair. I was SO lucky to get her! She is amazing at customer service, gave me all the information for the hair products she was putting in my hair and what they did, and gave me a discount on a deep conditioning treatment. That said when she dried my hair I was in awe! She told me I would look bomb but she wasn't kidding! She smoothed my tresses and they were so soft!!! At first, I was going to give this place a 4 star..... but my no chip manicure ending up lasting a really long time. The place is easy to find and has a clean interior. The lady giving the manicures could be a little bit more friend, but hey.. as long as you do a good job I dont care. Come the 2nd week of my manicure, it remained chipless. Although the women working there are very friendly and personable the pedicure left something to be desired. My roommate and I purchased the Lifebooker for a spa pedicure so we tried to book together but one of their chairs was broken so we had to go one at a time. The area where the pedicure chairs are located is very dim and not well lit. I don't know how she could see what she was doing and soon found out when I walked outside to go home. None of my cuticles were cut, my nails were a little crooked and very rough on the edges and it was polished horribly. Completely uneven and looked horrible. Thought about going back in but already spend a couple hours there and just wanted to go home. Not 6 hours later and I hadn't even put shoes on I looked down and the polish on one of my pinky toes was gone and the paint on my one big toe was chipped. Needless to say, I need to get them redone already. I wanted to go to more of a salon for pedi's but I think I will go back to the Vietnamese nail place by my house. I don't know why there were negative reviews for the no chips here. Lex did my nails and she did a fabulous job! She helped pick out a color that I was iffy about but ended up looking great. She took her time and was super friendly! About the color selection, there's not as wide a selection as shellac or the other no chip brands because they use the OPI no chip system, which is newer. I purchase a Groupon for a no chip manicure i very very excited to go to this place the name La Rouge sounds so fancy. I made my appointment for 12 pm on a Thursday the lady on the found sound it very nice . i got there exactly at 12 pm . I rushed on my way there not to be late. When i got there the nail technician was going to start a pedicure on someone else. She started my pedicure at 12:55 pm. The water was boiling hot i burn my toes, hen she scrubbed my feet she did it with this scrub that people use to wash a very dirty pan . so rough OMG it hurt really bad I told her to stop and skip that in my other foot. Than she dig into my nail with this sharp object. That hurt my toe too she was to busy talking to another lady . she noticed i kept moving my foot and asked me if hurt, she looked at me lime I was crazy and exaggerating . NO I WAS NOT ! SHE HURT MY TOE !!! NO. I don't recommend this place to get your nails done. This nail technician is very ROUGH not even an animal deserves to through pain. I was supposed to enjoy my pedicure and i just wanted her to done fast. My nails are not even straight !!! read more

I had previously taken her to others who claimed they knew how to work with my girls hair only to be disappointed with the end result, when I first called to schedule the appointment, she took the time to listen to what I was looking for and wasn't quick to say I can do it, here's the price, instead she said to bring my daughter in for a consult and she would talk us through it and give her recommendations, I'm glad we went because the end result was great, my daughter is happy and I'm glad we found a long time stylist! Love this place. I bought a life booker for eyelash extensions. My first set was perfect. I went back for my second set to find the aesthetician left and the new one could only do individual temporary lashes. I decided to get half in each eye (cat eye) I loved them! My mom thought they looked so great she went and got them the next day. (I think around 15 dollars, lasts about a week with care) I also get no chips there too. Marlo gave me the best pedicure ever. She took her time and was very careful about not cutting me, also made sure the color was in evenly and off my skin (last place I went to two weeks prior cut 3 of my cuticles!!!) my hands and feet look great.
