The Bee Man was referred to me by a friend. I had a yellow jacket (wasp) problem. They quoted $250-$325 to eradicate them. On eradication day, two gentlemen came. They were about an hour late due to back to school, so I understood. Then the older gentleman said it was a very easy job and they'd be done in literally 20 minutes or less. Then he proceeded to charge me the full $325 even though the job was super "easy." Not gonna lie that really pissed me off but I didn't feel like arguing, I just wanted those suckers gone. Sadly, I had to call them back two days later because the yellow jackets came back and bored 3 new holes back into the same area. They came back out and eradicated them again and this time they did not come back. Although I was super annoyed about them charging me the max for a job they laughed at that was so "easy" I am still giving them five stars because both men were very polite, respectful, professional, and when I called them back they came right back out and fixed the problem. So grateful that this company was so responsive and fit us into their schedule, "bee man" to the rescue! The way we initially discovered the bees were an issue was when we had workers come onto our roof and they were both stung, so we informed the neighbors that they had a huge hive in their wall. The neighbors brought an extermination company out that sprayed poison on the bees which just angered them and made them more aggressive. We couldn't even go into our backyard or take out our trash for days. We were desperate to have someone come out as soon as possible; in come the bee man. We called them, and they fit us into their schedule the next morning. Having spoken with the owner, I got a sense that he loved bees and did his best to dispel their bad reputation and fear that people had of them. They did a great job, even on a super windy day. I was looking for a bee removal person this company responded quickly and was able to come out the next day.. they offer to relocate bees if you chose.. professional and politely they were not able to pull out the bee hive it was in a tree trunk and it was to deep.. they said it was about 40 pounds and we had to remove the tree trunk so the bees do not come back.. I spoke to Steve on the phone yesterday and said I have bees in my chimney that I would like to have humanely removed alive. He said that they can do that, but do not relocate them to a hive. They would just release them into the wild. I asked if they vacuum them out and he said that was a possibility. He said someone, possibly he, would be out to my small cottage in Laguna Beach today between 8 and 11am and would call first. I was very happy because the other company I had spoken to never gave me a time window of when to expect them and one time when they didn't show up I called and they said they had rescheduled me to the end of the week (without telling me). So I had very high expectations from The Bee Man. Steve called this morning and said he would be here shortly. He arrived, left a brochure on my doormat and went out to get his ladder. He told me he was going to spray a colorless, non toxic, insect repellent to prevent bees from returning after foraging. He went up on the roof with a generic spray bottle and sprayed for a few minutes and then came down. When I asked, he he said he never told me over the phone that they would remove the bees. I asked numerous questions which he avoided answering or answered very curtly. He said the bees would be gone in about a week. I opened my front door and was hit with a very toxic smell. He hadn't asked if anyone or any pets were inside before he "treated" my chimney. I was horrified! My eyes began to burn slightly and I immediately felt light headed. He was right behind me and I told him to come in and smell what I smelled. He insisted the "repellent" was odorless, but didn't say that he did not smell anything. He implied that it must be something else that I was smelling. I quickly grabbed my cats and took them out to my patio. I was feeling more and more dizzy. He handed me the paperwork and a doorhanger that listed the products the company uses. I told him I would pay over the phone after I spoke to the company about my experience. He said fine and left. I was feeling worse so I called the poison ctr. listed on the doorhanger. The person I spoke to confirmed that it was not a repellent, but a pesticide and that as long as I stayed out in the fresh air, I should be ok. They didn't seem too worried. It took over 3 hours for me to feel normal again. I am supposed to be getting a call from the supervisor later today. If you care about our declining pollinator population, and your own health, do NOT CALL The Bee Man. They are on time but do not care about the importance of bees or of being honest or polite to their clients. read more

My HOA is the official client/customer of The Bee Man, so my HOA called The Bee Man out to my unit for bee treatment. Bees had made it into my bathroom (luver) vent from the outside, and had made it into my unit through the vent fan. I was given a call by The Bee Man when they stopped by my unit, but I missed the call because I was at work. They did not leave a message. I came home to find their flyer on my door. There was a huge swarm of bees on the outside of the building near my window where the vent opening was. I called the number on the flyer and left a voicemail. I wasn't sure if they had treated the bee issue. I did notice fumes/a smell emanating from the bathroom where the vent leads, so I stuffed a towel under the door crack to protect myself and my pets. I received a call back the next morning from someone who was very short and rude. She said that they had come and the treatment had been completed, and that it would be normal to see bee activity that would die off. However, she refused to give me any other information about the bee infestation, saying that my HOA was their customer and the necessary info had been given to them. She was also completely dismissive and rude when I mentioned the smell/fumes in my home, saying that had nothing to do with the treatment. In my experience, pest control companies are usually much more informative, helpful, and protective, so for my experience with The Bee Man to be such a wall. read more

Our apartment complex used this company so we had no choice in the matter. We've been dealing with having a hive in our apartments kitchen exhaust system for a few weeks. The Bee Man came out on 5/17 and was here for only 15 mins. Although I did not have contact with the company, my apartment complex's manager was under the impression that the Bee Man removed a hive and queen from our kitchen exhaust pipe. To put it simply, that was no where near the case. The Bee Man sprayed a pesticide, covered up the external kitchen exhaust pipe with mesh and left. The next day, I didn't hear any more bees and thought great! Whatever they did worked! 3 days later, we have the swarm trying to come into our apartment any way they can. They were not dead, were not removed, and had no way to get out, except through small cracks in our apartment. We could not use our stove or microwave due to the bees still being alive in the vents. Our complex's manager contacted the Bee Man and they said that it's normal to see a few bees left over and to wait 8-10 days. We then took it upon our selves to tape up every air condition vent and maintenance taped up our kitchen vent and microwave to try to wait out the 10 days. This was not a few bees, but an entire hive still left in our vents, that were trying to come in any way possible. To be fair, it has been over 10 days now and the bees are now dead. Not removed, but dead. Whether it was the pesticide the Bee Man sprayed, or just sealing up every exit point and us having to tape over every vent in our house, they are no longer alive. Our apartments maintenance had to come back today to address the dead bees that were left by the Bee Man. They vacuumed up a large quantity of bees from the kitchen hood. And we removed the seal the Bee Man placed on the external vent to try to remove some of the carcasses. Look at the picture I've attached. That's how many dead bees were left sitting in the vent on the mesh that the Bee Man placed. Luckily I wasn't charged for this service and my apartment complex has to pay the fee because I am positive that it was overpriced for what it was. Even if this was a difficult case and you could not remove the hive, the Bee Man should have been more transparent about what their service is and give better advice on how to handle bees still left in homes after their service. Just waiting 8-10 days for an entire swarm to die out and then having to deal with this amount of carcasses ourselves is not a good service. I do not recommend if you want to humanely remove bees, and I don't even recommend using them for their pesticide service either. read more

We used this company twice this year. The first time we noticed a swarm of bees and I called this company. I have health issues where I have to be aware of chemicals being used. The company was very rude and told me that the Chemicals are not toxic...etc. I rarely discuss my credentials but I explained that I'm a neuropsychology therapist who has researched chemicals and their impacts on the brain for years and also they are required by law to disclose the MSDS sheets. They were horrible and refused to provide these to me. Even the guy they sent was rude and avoided my questions. Now we because I rent, I had no choice on the pick of the company that was used. I did get a quote from another company and said there could be a hive in the wall. But at the end of the day, it was not my decision on how this would be taken care of. I did ask the Bee man about a possible hive and they told me that the bees would retreat and stop making a hive. The company did some spraying and I thought this would solve the problem. Well about 7 months later the bees returned and the Bee Man came back and sprayed again. But 1 month later, we see honey dripping from the walls and on our interior floors. This was after the heatwave we had. Here's the deal, apparently bee exterminator are supposed to remove the hive because of things like this. The bees returned because they smelled the honey that was still there. Second after researching, dead bees and unattended hives create bacteria and mold. This can also attract other pests and also other scout bees. Ok here's the icing on the cake with The Bee man...after showing this to the homeowner, the company replied and "see the picture of text". Second they always leave this note with a list of chemicals but when I asked for the MSDS sheets they wouldn't provide it. Lastly I will be filing a complaint because like I stated before, I have been having health issues and all I ask for is for information so that I'm aware and can take proper precautions. Second, any bee exterminator should know the possibility of a hive in the wall and provide referrals or do the job right. So I would give 0 stars if I could because of the customer service and support when I first contacted them. Second because they charged my landlord a second time to do the same thing but because they DID not remove the hive the first time! Or even warn about this as a possibility. And third, because now we have bigger issue on our hands. Also please research the chemicals below and don't take anyone's word on the safety. I state the facts and my feelings as best I can without any negative emotions. I was quoted $200-$300 on the phone to remove the bees/hives in the chimney. But their technician came, climbed on the roof and told me there were no hives but a few scout bees, and I was charged $250. I don't have any room for bargaining. I'd be happy to pay some inspection or service trip fee, but I don't think they took any bees/hives and I still should be charged $250, I'll feel like I'm being charged just asking someone to climb on the roof and tell me there are no bees! Also I was told that the holiday service fee of $89 was waived, I would say that since you write 24/7 service on your website then you are 24/7 service, I don't agree that you should charge extra even. The positive side is yes they schedule on the same day (Sunday) and arrived on time, also the technician knows what to do! This is Not a bee specialty service it is an extermination company. The tech, Eric, arrived with a bad attitude and talking over me. I stopped him and clearly stated I wanted to do what's best for the bees that were swarming on my front porch. He angrily told me they were "sick and had to be sprayed and removed and if you want to know what's wrong with them you'd have to call a bee specialist." He killed them with a spray chemical and dumped them into a garbage bag and charged $200 for 15 minutes of work that wasn't what I asked for. I called the office to report the incident. Steve was condescending and also talked over me. When I stopped him from hanging up on me he listened but didn't change his attitude. He lied and said he would mail me a refund check of $50. Eleven days later I have not received anything except deep regret for trusting The Bee man and allowing him to exterminate bees that I was trying to help. read more

Outrageously horrible customer service. Stay far away from The Bee Man! I really wish I would have listened to the recent reviews here. I have never in my life been treated so poorly on the phone: laughing, snark, and complete disregard. We had bees under the eaves of our second story. By chance, I saw their truck at a neighbor's. They came to my house after they finished at the neighbor's and took a look. They told me they would spray the bees and temporarily plug the hole. It was great that they were able to do it all right then without having to call to schedule and have them come back. We decided to move forward and get it done right away. Within 15 minutes they were finished. They said they were able to plug the hole and when asked, they said as far as they could see there was no hive or honeycomb yet. Even if there was a small one it would dry up and wouldn't be an issue. They explained in a few days once the bees are gone we will need to hire a professional to come and fill the hole permanently. Several days later the bees were still swarming the same spot. I called on July 5 (day 8) and was told it could be up to 2 weeks until they leave. I waited in hopes the bees would go away. I called again on July 10 (day 13). I asked when if they could come back and she said they will call me in 1-2 days whenever they are in my area again. I explained the bees were swarming and starting to get into our house more frequently. We would like for them to come as soon as possible. The girl on the phone had a bit of attitude and told me she pulled up my file. The notes say they weren't able to plug the holes because there were too many. I said that is not at all what I was told when they were here. She was clearly annoyed and said she didn't know what happened she's just reading notes. She said she wasn't there so wait for the callback from the service guy within 2 days. On July 12 (15 days after initial service, and no callback for the return service): I called again. I wanted to be sure to be home so they would have access to our neighbor's yard (we have a zero lot line). The girl said she thought we were on their schedule for today because she remembered printing my paper. She came back and said, no it will still be a couple more days until they can get to us. I said we've already waited several days and we need someone here sooner. The line went silent suddenly and I transferred to someone else who was even more rude than the first person. She repeatedly told me they have public safety jobs and are contracted all over the city. She was very snarky toward me and said it will be a couple more days. I explained I spent $300 for bee removal and to plug the hole over 2 weeks ago and the service wasn't completed as promised. The bees are entering our home and we have young kids. We need them to come today as was promised. She repeated the same lines over and over and even had the nerve to laugh at me. She very snarkily said I didn't pay $300, it was only $265. I said, I'm sorry if that's just "$265" but the point is we paid for a service and it wasn't completed. She laughed and said we would have to hire someone to fill all the holes anyways. I told her that was explained to us and I have every intention of hiring professionals to fix the stucco once the bees are removed. I can't hire someone to fix the hole or supposed holes if there are bees swarming. I have never in my life had this kind of attitude from a company. We paid them for bee removal and a temporary plug of the hole. We were told it was done, and now they have changed the story by saying they were unable to temporarily fill the holes. If that were the case at all, why would we pay $265 just to have them spray deterrent?! Of course they were supposed to temporarily fill the hole (or I guess holes as they are now claiming.) If they couldn't fill the holes why wouldn't they have told me this and then explain the next steps? Why would they just spray and be on their way? Obviously we would continue to have problems with bees since they didn't do anything to remove them. It doesn't even make sense. Now they keep pushing us off instead of coming back to finish the job we paid for them to do. It's been a complete waste of time and we still have a swarm of bees and apparently at least one or maybe multiple holes that have not been plugged. If you do decide to use this company make sure you ask them for photos of their completed work before you agree to pay for their service. But really, I would run. There are plenty of other bee removal services in our area and I'm absolutely sure they have to be better than this place. read more

I would not recommend these people. We have a bee problem in the peak of our roof. I paid $350 for treatment which consisted of a guy showing up for 10 minutes and shooting some bee spray into a crack in the ceiling. It killed the bees for a few weeks but they came back. They say they'll respray it for another $350 which sounds like a rip off since the bees will almost certainly come right back and I will have just donated more money to this company for nothing. On August 30Th 2024 Bee Man cut a tree branch from my back yard to remove a large bee hive . I paid him $350 and specified that I like to keep my organic golden honey . To my astonishment he took my honey from my property against my wish . He claimed that this honey was poisonous and contaminated by jacuzzi's water . We do not have a jacuzzi. In his receipt he didn't mention any indication of poison within my hive . Later I called him several times and demanded my golden organic honey back . Eventually he sent me small samples of commercials honey. I am very dissatisfied with Beeman services. I do not recommend him to any of my friends and neighbors. read more

Next morning came and I was told I couldn't get service until the late afternoon or next day because more important calls to attend to. The next day (day 3) I was told there were even more important calls to attend to and nobody would be out until the end of the week. We saw a swarm of bees clustering and going into our attic on a Sunday afternoon. Called Steve the Bee Man. He patiently heard our story, explained the process and provided an estimate. He followed up later in the day to answer our additional questions. Next morning at 7 am, his technician Miguel showed up on time, carefully inspected the problem and presented with us different remediation options. Fortunately, the comb just started to form so it's super small. However, the location is tricky since the attic area where the comb is located isn't accessible from inside the house. We can't save the bees at that point and have to go with extermination. Miguel is patient and let as many bees out as possible so that fewer can die inside. I called due to a hive issue in my bay window. The service man assured me that the bees were not being exterminated. He said to wait a week or so and if the bees did not go away to call him. I found hundreds if not thousands of bees over the next several days but noticed they were trying to get in to another area of the window. I called which has almost been two weeks and three days later the same service man came out and wants to charge $125 more on top of the initial $225 I paid. He said a different swarm is now trying to get into the window. The initial day my home was treated the bees started looking for a different entrance and they are telling me it's not the same bees. They should honor their word and do their job correctly and not try to keep squeezing money out of people by deceiving them. I will be reporting them to the BBB. The elderly neighbor spoke no English and wouldn't open her door to let any bee service in. The two men from your company who knocked on my door Saturday October 21st told me they would just figure out a way to take care of the situation with all of their special tools such as a nearly 50 foot pole and other handy bee removal equipment.
