I've been seeing Pedro for 2 years and he has be wonderful! Unfortunately due to a schedule change I had to switch stylist. For the last 8 months I've been growing my color out (was full red) Pedro has done a impeccable job blending my natural regrowth with my hair. On Monday I seen a new stylist who advice a soap box would be best. I really didn't need to come in again but figured it wouldn't hurt to blend it a little bit more. What a mistake! 3.5 hours later, I ended with glosses, Color and who knows what else. 8 months ruined. I look worse now than I did coming into the salon. The worst part when I called to express my concerns it took multiple calls and emails to finally get a response. It only got worse from there. Chuck (the manager) had no empathy, when I expressed how upset I was that I've spent 8 months working on this for it to be ruined. Also mentioning I fly out for business tomorrow and look ridiculous. He advised I could come in be consulted, wait for a half a hour for another appt and they could possibly fix the bright roots but or course there is no fix to dye that is now on my regrowth. Needless to say I don't have another 4 hours before I fly out to spend in the salon when what should have taken maybe an hour has not cost me so much progress, time and money. It's okay. Nice ambiance. Massages are expensive and just alright. Had a few different services done and was always just "meh" about it. Wish there was another spa in our area that offered the ambiance, services and better quality execution of the services offered so I didn't feel like I wasted money after my experience. read more

Being newer to the West Reading area I went to Bell Tower for several different services from nails to waxing to hair and makeup. Not all of the services were perfect but many of them are. The service at Bell Tower overall is amazing, the customer service I have received has been impeccable and they have certainly appeared to want to make me happy. I received wedding services (hair and makeup) that was so perfect I almost cried before the ceremony. Carly who managed all my wedding services was always available and quickly would get back to me leaving nothing to worry about. Every day services I get are mani/pedi and color/cut. Leah Perlman is my hair specialist and she is amazing in every sense of the word, wants to make you happy and she makes me happy every time I am there. I have my hair cut here and it was the best one I've ever gotten! I'm really here to review their cafe, which I feel like not many people realize they have. Everyone was so pleasant and friendly! We loved our relaxing pedicures and enjoyed the calming atmosphere. We booked three pedicures at the same time. They were extremely courteous, especially when my mom's pedicure chair jets weren't working properly. The staff went out of their way to make her comfortable and compensate for it. I will start off by stating that I have had many facial and massages at other establishments prior to coming here. My visit booked off of a Groupon. 1hr massage, 30 facial, 15 in sauna and a breakfast over at the cafe. I was greeted promptly. They offer lemon water or tea, no coffee. When i was called back they called" My name and another clients name at the same time. Apparently sinve we both had Groupons, they put as in the same timw slot so my entire visit everyone thought Amanda and I were together, bit annoying. The room where u change to s robe and flip flops is very clean, locker included, u keep your key in the robe with. Massage therapist was fairly lite with pressure, never asking hoe I felt, til she was done. I was taken to the sauna which is up a flight of steps. Sauna was npt very warm and VERY DIRTY ( i reported to front desk when I checkes out). I stepped out of rhe sauna before my time was up and a girl had me sit in a pedicure chair until the facial girl was ready...again uner the chairs and nooks where they keep towels etc..DIRTY. Facial was very rushed she put some steam in my face and basically cleaned and moisturized, she never put a lite nor magnifying glass to my face. Check out was quick, I handed the girl a 20.00 due to everything I just reviewes here and she looked at my $20 bill "like really". No thank you BT, I know more professional, kinder and affordable places than yours. read more

I was so excited to move back to Reading and see this cute spa in such a cool building! And what a disappointment. My daughter and I went for a pedicure and I will not go back. They charge big city prices for a very small town and sub par experience. When we arrived no one told us where to hang our coats, so we ended up carrying them upstairs and were then told to "just put them on your chair." Really, on the spa chair? I had to ask if they had beverages- no one asked me. There were no magazines on the second floor- again no one told us where to get magazines. The pedicure was mediocre at best. Standard. Absolutely nothing special. After the pedicure we were put in a sitting room to dry- and no one ever came back to see us! No one sprayed our polish, checked in on is, nothing. Really such a great spot. They need to either bump up their service, or cut their prices. Is this really the best Reading has to offer? So sad. read more

I would like to start off by saying I am not from Pennsylvania and I attend college in the area. I am going on a trip for 2 weeks and i figured I should try waxing because shaving is a hassle and I've been meaning to try it sometime. The reason I picked this place because it had the highest reviews out of the other places.My first time at the place and I call to make an appointment for Brazilian and stomach waxing. I've never been waxing in general before so I don't really know what's the average price range. $65 doesn't seem to bad but it is a lot. I got there 10 minutes earlier (as my appointment is at 12) and I wait another 10 minutes. So it's about 12:15 and I have a place to be at 1, usually when you make an appointment that's the time they take you in. Other people that come after me are taken before me which got me slightly agitated. So I'm slightly irritated, and I finally get called around 12:20. The place is clean and pretty which is the only reason why I have it one star. The lady was really nice and made conversation with me, told me some things about waxing and what it does. She starts with my stomach, and it hurt like a b***h but stuck through. Then she goes "done"and that was that. I'm left baffled and confused because I was suppose to get a Brazilian, as I called. When I go to pay I ask why they cancelled my appointment for Brazilian. They said that it overlapped other appointments. The reason why I am angry is because they said it was okay on the phone, I made the appointment 4 days prior to the day it was, and on top of that did not even call or tell me when I got there. I originally called for a Brazilian and they booted me out. My experience was awful and the Bell Tower Spa handled the appointment very unprofessionally. They said I can come back and "maybe" see if they can take me, when once again I made a specific appointment for that. They didn't even tell me at least prior to the appointment. I am extremely dissatisfied and would not recommend anyone to come here, unless they want their appointment cancelled without any prior knowledge. Overrated, overrated, overrated. I tried three stylists here and had bad haircuts from all three. First stylist left one side a little longer than the other side, so I had to fix it, meaning cut my own hair to make it look normal. Second stylist cut me off when I was explaining to her what I wanted. I clearly stated that I DID NOT want a heavy bob line but ended up with a matronly bob that I had to fix (cut) as soon as I got back home. Third stylist also left me with a matronly bob line, even though I again clearly stated that I DID NOT want a heavy bob line. I also told the stylist that too often, a stylist will layer out the sides and leave the middle of the back of my hair with a unlayered bulk of hair, and I clearly stated I DID NOT want that, yet that is exactly the cut she gave me. And it is ugly and outdated, like a grandma hairdo. Not stylish at all, but dumpy and dowdy. Plus one side is excessively layered and the other side is not layered enough, so the sides do not look the same. Does anyone at this salon know how to truly listen to the client in their chair ?????? When a salon charges a premium price (plus tip!) for a haircut, you should get a premium haircut; I did not get that here, I didn't even get a haircut worthy of mid-priced cut. I had high hopes when I first heard of Bell Tower but am left extremely, massively disappointed. I recommend not going to this salon. Save your money. Get a mid-price quality haircut at a mid-priced salon instead of this over-priced chop shop. Worthy of zero stars but Yelp requires at least one star. read more

After going to several local salons I felt defeated with half a** hair cuts and began to realize I would have to start going back to Philly to get a good hair cut....This was only until a co-worker recommended Bell Tower. The salon/spa is beautiful and modern and the staff is very friendly. I have short funky hair and needed a stylist who could deliver. Laura P., with funky hair herself gave me an awesome cut and really listened to what I wanted. She also gave her own input about what would work, unlike these local stylists I've been seeing who could offer no suggestions. I left the salon extremely satisfied and happy, something I have not done in at least 6 months. I can't wait to make my next appointment! read more

I have been going to this hair salon since the early 2000's- while they are usually accommodating with last minute appointments and the haircuts have overall been satisfactory, hence I've returned for nearly 20 years, back then, there was simply a price for men's and a price for women's hair cuts and a separate price if you went to the owner/master stylist. I am disappointed with how convoluted and complicated their stylist levels and pricing has become. Asking for a low level, low cost stylist (because I generally have been happy with the result regardless of level) I agreed to go to a level 2 stylist, assuming it would be in the 20s as it always has been. The cost was $42 for 20 min men's cut, which can't be justified in my head. Level 1 costing $29. Level 3 only $45- I think this $13 jump is misleading, and given the logarithmic scale, I have to think it was designed this way. If not, I would expect to be told about such an increase after specifically stressing wanting a low level and cost men's haircut. Apparently there are even lower levels adding to the complexity. ("apprentice level", etc). I gave a $6 tip as I was happy with my cut, but felt swindled and thus will not be going back. read more

I'm stylist, Laura, listened to me and did a wonderful job on my color , highlights and cut. She also looks like the salons best advertisement. Her own hair looks amazing and very uptown! read more

I have mixed emotions about this place. I've had some good haircuts there and some really bad ones. It depends on who your stylist is, as is the case anywhere. That said, I've had better cuts from some of the lower-level stylists than the higher-level, so don't be afraid to try the lower-level stylists. My complaint with this place is that it feels like it has no soul. It feels like the poor girls working there are afraid to do something wrong. No one looks happy. It's pretty depressing to see. Plus, the lighting is terrible, which sounds picky, but I don't want to spend $65 on a haircut to look at it in harsh fluorescent overhead lighting that makes me look like I have terrible circles under my eyes. I want to leave feeling pretty. The other complaint is that I feel like they make the stylists push product on you, as apparently that is part of reaching the next level. I hate that feeling. Just tell me what you used and I'll decide if I want to buy it. Don't push it on me. read more

I used to go to The Bell Tower for all my facials with Niculina, who is very good. I made an appointment with her and then received an email saying it was with another technician. When I called the woman said Niculina was booked for that time and she did not know what happened, no explanation. She then asked if I would like to get on the cancellation list. I came in Friday for a microembrasion... I was told that my face was too damaged and inflamed for it.. I accepted it, then she said she was just going to clean my face and see how it does and we could possibly do the microembrasion... Never told me if there was going to be a change in price.. time goes on, and I begin to ask her what she is doing.. no answer. 20 minutes later she told me that she was going to start the extractions... never told me a price change AGAIN.. kind of furious at this point. Starts using all these products on my skin ( its already red and inflamed)... I have a an allergy to milk, and soy and intolerance to gluten.. never asked a thing about allergies.. by the time everything was said and done, my face was a balloon.. super red and swollen.. I went home and took Benadryl.. woke up Saturday even worse then Friday.. my face is super red, a balloon, swollen, and literally beyond itchy.. as I go up to pay- she told me its 120$ because she did a lot that day, and continued to put products on the table for me to buy, and I told her I wasn't expecting more then the $50 I was quoted for microembrasion.. literally 120$ later, to have a swollen face for days and super itchy.... I always loved coming here, but beware. Stylists add services to your bill and never tell you. I was charged $25 for a gloss applied to my hair after my hair was colored. The stylist never told me she was doing this, and never told me there is a charge. So I was charged for a service that I didn't know was happening lol. This happened twice on 2 different occasions from 2 different stylists. Very unethical. Managers refused to take it off the bill. If anyone wants to know why I let this happen again or went here again- the first time this happened was a couple years ago. Recently I decided to give the salon another chance. I have went to Bell Tower for the past 3 years for all of my services. I would get my hair done, facials, massages, pedicures ... the last time I went to Bell Tower to get my hair done was on September 7th 2019. My hair is naturally dark and just the ends were a blondish/brown color. I asked for my ends to be dyed as my natural color and my roots touched up to cover some grays. The hair stylist did exactly that and I loved my hair when she was completed. I even bought products from Bell Tower which she recommended to help maintain my color looking fresh. Well, after ONLY 2 washes, all the dye came out from the covered up ends and NOW half my head is a weird brown ish penny color and the rest of my hair is my natural color. It is SUPER OBVIOUS. I paid $200 for my hair plus shampoo & a little bottle of conditioner. I was honestly very surprised to see the color run out SOO fast .... so fast that my hair became different colors ....... so I sent Bell Tower a message explaining my DISAPPOINTMENT - especially after being a client with them for 3 years and spending a lot of money there. I never ONCE received an email back, a phone call ... nothing. Last week I visited Bell Tower to get my eyebrows touched up and also because I wanted to speak to someone regarding my complaint and my discolored hair. The manager was on the phone when I was checking out because their credit card systems were down and probably going to be on the phone for awhile the receptionist told me ... so I explained my problem to her and also advised I sent a message and never got a response. She took down my name, information, etc and said the manager would contact me when she was off the phone.... that never happened either. I am extremely disappointed in Bell Tower ... especially considering the fact I have been a faithful customer to them even with their high prices. I will never go back there because of this one time. I didn't even request a full refund or anything - but to not even get acknowledged? Hopefully no one else ever has an issue like this because you will absolutely go unheard and your $200 plus money down the toilet. read more

I went for my first ever massage, and my goodness I'm kicking myself for waiting so long! (I can do that now...my legs are quite limber after my amazing massage!) My masseuse was fantastic, the girl who did my nails was fantastic....there were 7 of us out for a girls' day and they accommodated all of us and they did it brilliantly! All of us spent the rest of the day lounging in relaxed bliss, and I can't wait to go back! read more

I greatly enjoyed my experience at Bell Tower. I felt very comfortable with my Esthetician. She was very easy to talk to and relatable. However I felt like she was a little rough. I have received waxes from other places and they were more gentle when waxing my most sensitive parts. Also I did not enjoy the type of was used. My experience with another company, European Wax Center used a gel like wax which I felt we less hot and harsh on my body. Also the ladies at the front desk of Bell Tower were not the most friendly. They made me feel like I didn't belong there and very I welcomed. This could be because it was my first time there. Maybe with further appointments I will feel more welcomed. read more

Went a few months ago for hi lights and a cut. I was really happy with the results-so I decide to return this week just to freshen up roots and get a trim. I told the stylist I loved what she did last time and wanted the same. She put way to many foils in and let me sit for an extended period of time and severely over processed my hair. I had pieces that were so blond they almost looked grey and pieces that were breaking off along my hairline. It was also blotchy all over. I don't know if it could get any worse. I was and still am very upset about it. I will never ever go to Bell Tower again. I'm sure they have some talented stylists and technicians, but this was an absolutely horrible experience. read more

I am done with this place. The techs and stylists are great, however mgmnt and front desk is just not on the ball. I have been a customer for over 3yrs. Anytime I make a verbal appt, something gets messed up and it ends up my word against theirs. I started emailing what I wanted so I have a log. That is just the first problem. The 2nd is their points program. I was never told they expire at the end of the year and when I had services the beginning of Nov a couple years ago, I just hung on to my points. Figured I would use them in a couple months. Went in for services the end of March and went to use points and they said I had none. Found out then they expire the end of the year. I lost an entire years worth of points. Then they would do nothing about it. Even contacted the mgr and never got a call back. Then they said the front desk girls would have asked if I wanted to use them. You know in all the years I have gone here, not 1 time have they asked. It does not matter the time of year. Then, the final straw and why I am not going back. I always have a long list of services. The price tag is anywhere between 500-600 bucks, not including tips. I make a list, email it, and select the date I want. I don't care who the tech is because as I said they are all great. This time they said, we don't have the message you want. Pick another one or another day. My day was set due to wedding. I asked what they had available and did not get an answer. So, I selected another message. I got an email saying that was not available. I think because the day I am selecting, no one is there to perform the service. Finally, I picked one they had available. Then, I find out I have to work so I need to change appt to week prior and all I get is an email response saying not all your services are available for that day. Wow. Can you be anymore vague? I had this back and forth crap. Trying to get a simple appt is like pulling teeth. That is no way to run a business. If a client is asking for a certain message and no one is there to perform, how about this for an idea, this is what we do have available for that day and list the messages. How hard is that? Or, how about an email that says, not all services are available for that day and this is what we can provide and list what you can provide. So, I am done. I do the spa thing because I need my hair colored and to relax and all they do is cause me grief by not providing customer service. Spa experience is about the WHOLE experience from the beginning. So, I am now going to give Spa at Spring Ridge a try. I have done their Rosacea treatment in the past and it was great. My hair coloring, I will find someone in the area. Will let you all know how my spa day goes at Spring Ridge and if they are more customer service oriented. read more
