We used to go there every Friday for Haddock and often for family gatherings and occasions. They would make pancakes for my grandson shaped like Mickey Mouse. We loved it. Yesterday we stopped by and I got my grandson a short stack of pancakes. He likes variety so it was one chocolate Chip and one Blueberry. They now offer toppings for additional 2.00 so we went for that too. The bill came and they charged us 8.99 for each pancake. It was 4.99 each plus 2.00 for the blueberry and/or chips then another 2.00 each for the toppings. Very deceiving when you look at the menu and are ordering a short stack with toppings. Buyer beware before you order. It was really tacky and made what was supposed to be a fun memorable occasion a disappointment. No where else we have ever gone have they not honored the short stack price and or charged extra for the type of pancake. Toppings yes but not the type of pancake never. We will not be returning to BP again read more

don't know how the food is now but food was always good - However - Do not like new limited menu - no longer make subs, no longer make the Italian pupu plater, the only club they make now is turkey.... all the favorites are gone... almost always ordered the Italian pupu platter. - No reason to go back too bad we've been going there over 30 years. read more

They have some crazy Eggs Benedict options here each version is about $15. That is my favorite breakfast food and I love the different spins they put on them. I got an Italian variety. On the menu it is listed as "Toasted English muffin, two poached eggs, grilled pepperoni and shredded cheddar cheese all topped with our own Italian tomato hollandaise sauce. Served with our BP home fries" Next time I will try their crazy mimosa menu I peered over at on my way out of the restaurant! The food was unforgettable. Have been coming here for years and always ordered the Italian pupu platter every sat nite !! Never much of a wai to be served and my wife always ordered the taco pizza. Sadly there hours mon-Friday have been cut, the menu has been cut in half, prices have increased and the two staples we always ordered have disappeared from the menu. Ordered Buffalo Mac and cheese, on the big chalkboard as a special for $10. Get the bill, it was $16.99. Tell waitress, she claimed I got the one with blue cheese, ranch, and scallions for full price, $10 plate has only ranch. None of this was communicated until I questioned why I wasn't given the sale price. So I paid $6.99 for a couple crumbles of cheese and scallions? If given the option I would've gone with the $10 special. She asked me if the price was ok. I said just run the tab. I'm not going to tell the older career waitress right from wrong. Our go-to breakfast stop for the past 10 years has only gotten better! BP is a family owned business where the food is consistently good, prices are on par with most family restaurants, and the dining room is clean, well lit and comfortable. Service is fast and servers are always personable. Love when co-owner George is manning the grill! He has great energy and is fun to watch behind the line, rockin' the best hairstyle in the biz. Favorites on the breakfast menu are the Vegetable Omelette with tender crisp broccoli, spinach, tomato, onion, peppers & a ton of melty cheese and also The Bird's Nest, a unique combination of their grilled homemade bread, topped with hollandaise sauce, shredded grilled turkey, poached eggs, crisp bacon and green onions. I always request extra grilled onions on my home fries. For dinner I often get one of their gigantic entree salads. My pick is the Southwest Chick Salad with mixed greens, red onion, tomatoes, corn, carrots, shredded cheddar and tortilla chips tossed in ranch dressing and a big scoop of diced BBQ glazed chicken salad. I order my ranch dressing on the side as sometimes this salad is a little overdressed depending on who's cooking. I also dig the pasta dishes like the Chicken Parm and the Chicken Duet. My only small complaint, which has been mentioned numerous times in other reviews is that the $3.99 price of coffee,tea and soft drinks is a little higher than most restaurants. Not sure why. Even high end restaurants like Gracie's in Providence do not charge more than $3.50 for these items. Maybe it's to compensate for other food price increases which they have kept comparably low, even with the recent spike in eggs. Not a deal breaker with me, though. I'll never forget when they sold big containers of soup and chowder to-go during Covid lockdown. Great comfort food during a very dark and stressful time in the community. The omelette is super, super thin too so it's tough to eat since there's not much for the fork to pierce. I'm guessing they use the carton eggs and not real eggs. Not a fan. King street diner's veggie omelette is way better. - home fries are more like hash browns but a good chunk was crispy. Bland though. - French toast - not good. Just a dry piece of bread. I have been to the Bellingham Palace twice for breakfast and every time I'm not disappointed. The waitstaff is very friendly and it's well ventilated for Covid seating. There is also a small patio. Only ever had their breakfast options so this is solely based on that :) Been here a couple times and it seems very loved by the bellingham locals. Always busy. To me, the food is just okay. Basic diner breakfast food. The young lady who works the front is always so sweet no matter how packed it is. We have tried many of their french toast, omelettes and egg benedict. Our favorites are the corn beef hash benedict and the veggie omelette. Both are very tasteful and savory. The "cool" dishes (i.e. pancake sandwich) are not that great unless you are a kid lol but they're benedicts are pretty good and flavorful. If you love diner home fries this place is definitely for you! Almost every breakfast option comes with a huge portion of home fries. :) read more

Should've listened to the 3 1/2 stars to this place. Food is rather overpriced for brunch. Service was okay, the lady was nice though. Let's just say the food literally has no flavor, even to the maple syrup. The food presentation looked good but when it came down to taste I could hardly taste anything and I'm not sick. I had to switch my pancake sandwich with my boyfriend just because of how much flavor my food lacked and I enjoyed the chicken and waffles he ordered just a bit. I ordered a small steak and cheese sub, and a order of the loaded fries with the ranch on the side. The young women who answered for the pick up order didn't say "Bellingham place, or even a name of who I was speaking too (What if I called the wrong place?).She couldn't understand I was saying steak and cheese until I near spelled it out. She kept saying "bacon and cheese sub?" Finally she understood. Finally I get a price and time to pick it up. 27$ and change!! I went here for lunch with my coworker and got take out. The service was good, my order was ready when I got there and seemed to be hot, which is the main reason for the 3 stars. He got an Italian and I got the steak bomb Mac and cheese. The Italian, according to him, was missing the onions, one half was burnt and the meat was too thick. My steak bomb Mac wasn't bad. I quite enjoyed it actually. The problem I had was the styrofoam that it was in because the cheese got all out so it was very dry Mac and cheese. The portion was competitive for the price but nothing spectacular. I can't say I won't give them another chance, but I definitely won't be back any time soon read more
