We set our expectations high for this place considering all the reviews/ratings on Trip Advisor, Google, Facebook, and Yelp. Adults only, couples only, all-inclusive resort - that's a big yes! We hadn't been to a resort in a long time and were very stoked for our visit in August 2025. As is the standard for the Excellence brand of resorts - the staff greeted us warmly and professionally. Instantly, our needs were taken care of - the room wasn't ready, but we were provided with an opportunity to change and immediately take advantage of our stay. The size of the resort initially threw us off - it is much smaller than your typical resort, but it also caters to a smaller crowd for (their words) "a boutique experience." It seemed dead until we got close to the beach area and the swim-up bar. This is where the people hang out. Dinner at El Mar our first night was amazing - excellent seafood (check out the pics) and service. We ate twice each at Lupita Steakhouse and La Isla. Unfortunately, the hotel kept changing the schedule of which restaurant would be open what night. This threw off our dinner plans more than once, and we spent more time at La Isla (with the least exciting menu) getting eaten by mosquitoes than we cared for. During our stay, the beach snacks menu also changed. It went from a delicious two-page menu to a sad one-pager; gross nachos and hot dogs, anyone? Online, people went on full-on rants about this. It turns out the menus across all the Excellence resorts are being stream-lined to the new executive chef's "vision." Some people, from what I read online, are now considering cancelling their reservations, not wanting to fly all the way here for waffles and burgers. On top of the rebranding, the hotel is also undergoing renovations to bring it up to modern times. We thought our room was beautiful, but it was a tad outdated. For customer service, though - the Excellence brand will not settle for less than, well, excellence. All of our interactions with staff at all levels was top-notch. Because of the vibe here - we didn't talk to anyone but hotel staff for four whole days. Staff shout-outs: Denise, Luis, Fernando and Fabiola at the beach; Octavio and Bernice at the spa; Andrea, Aina, and Alexander at guest services; Pasquale, Alex, and Elvis at pool side; Cirilo and Vanya at El Mar, Brenda at La Isla, and Alberto and Barbra at Lupita. Hands down, the best all inclusive couples only resort in Cancun. The service, ambience, attention to detail, and cuisine cannot be beat. The morning breakfast buffet at Le Bisou has an array of fresh fruits, pastries, and sushi. The morning breakfast buffet at Isla Trattoria offers more traditional Mexican dishes. The ribeye at Lupita Steakhouse is a must try. The Tequila Experience is a steal at $50, which includes Casa Dragones and Clase Azul. The cabana rentals are only $60 for the entire day and come with a coconut drink, mimosa bar, and fresh fruits. We will be back!!! read more

Overall we've been having a fantastic experience here. Will absolutely return. The amazing: ** The staff, lovely and attentive. Even the times we couldn't grab a waiter at the pool another staff member always called one for us. ** The intimate size of the hotel, only about 100 rooms and it's wonderful to keep running into the same people and friends we meet. ** The food, I haven't had any complaints about the food and they are so respectful and kind about allergies here, they even ask again before every meal. ** The room. We have a casita with private pool and while we discovered there are different casita buildings with the same room we would try to request next time (better view more private) we still really adore our room this time with the private pool, which is actually warm during the day, even in the days it rained a little. What we hope to experience next time that we didn't this time. ** The French restaurant- it was closed (I think for renovations) the whole time we're here, it reopens the day after we leave -- so we hope next time we come we can experience what it has to offer! ** The beach, it's been rather windy while we were here and had a day or so of rainy weather (no one can control the weather!) so we opted not to spend as much time on the beach (totally our choice!) we hope to next time. I know overall they are doing some renovations to this resort soon which will be nice, we didn't have any complaints though with how it is now! We have seen people online complain about not being able to find pool or beach chairs but we didn't have that experience, it might be the particular schedule we keep, we usually are at the pool early right after breakfast and have no problem finding a chair. read more

My experience has been filled with bad luck, or I caught the hotel on their bad days. First of all I'm here during a remodelation so after night 1 I got moved to a different building. Here's the kicker, the new room had a malfunctioning AC. So they moved me to a 3rd room late at night. The manager said I could stay there for the remainder of my trip. Fast forward to the next morning and a front desk lady told me I couldn't because someone else was scheduled to check-in into that room over the weekend. After trying 3 rooms in 1 night, I decided to stay and not cause any trouble. The front desk lady didn't seem too kind to help beyond telling me I needed to pretty much accept my old room and wait for the ac to be fixed which it eventually was. The new room has a malfunctioning tub, and unfinished parts like the phone or bathroom door (pics and videos attached). The cherry on top: my flip flops got lost or stolen in the pool. Lastly, I wrote to the spa to make a reservation and they said 2pm works. After i confirmed about 10 mins later, they reply with "sorry that time is not available anymore". The front desk and hotel seem like they don't care about my experience and won't do anything for the inconvenience. I'm honestly very disappointed in the whole experience. The front desk even tho they are kind, I feel they just want me to shut up. The silver lining is the incredible service from restaurant, pool and beach staff. The definitely compensate the lack of attention from The front desk and management. I'd never stay back here again. The reviews are good so I thought my experience was going to be similar. Also there are only 1 or 2 restaurants open at a time and the small menu never changes. This is by far the best all-inclusive we have been to! It is made for couples and has a relaxing/intimate ambiance. Service is key here. The staff are very attentive and are punctual toe met all your needs. The staff really is the highlight of this resort! The gym is incredible! They have any equipment you could think of along with multiple rooms. The food is delicious and with multiple restaurants (including a street taco truck) you can't go wrong. The spa is incredible. This is the best hydrotherapy experience I have had and the spa was so calming. With the resort being so small, it is easy to find a place on the beach. You also do not have to make reservations at the restaurants. If you are looking for a party resort, this isn't it. If you are looking to relax, enjoy the beach/pool with some drinks, you can't do any better than Beloved! We already booked our next trip because we loved it so much! read more

Nope, we just sat in cold water for about 3 hours until we gave up: every person kept apologizing and saying give us 10 min. This resort will do almost everything to ensure you have a mediocre time. 100/05 stars- this place is off the charts, and they exceed all your expectations. This is going to be a long one, so enjoy! I'm not a resort person (or at least I wasn't), nor did I know what to expect traveling to Playa Mujeres for some R&R. What I wanted was peace and quiet for a private birthday trip with my partner, but what I got was a team of extremely kind and hard-working friends working diligently day and night predicting my every need and providing it before I had the chance to ask. It was beyond incredible! The staff is ALL so INCREDIBLY friendly. They remember your name and work to make whatever your reason for your visit known and they make it a highlight. Everyone we encountered (and I have a long list of new amigos) was bilingual in English and Spanish, but appreciated when we could speak Spanish. It was absolutely welcoming, and I never felt like I was misunderstood speaking English. ***Sidenote: we noticed all of the staff being friendly and smiling around eachother not just near guests, like they genuinely LOVE working here. It was an energy you can't fake, so we noticed right away. They vibe together so so well and it shows in their service levels. So awesome to see!! *Book the trip through their private website vs expedia or other sites for free private SUV transportation from CUN aeropuerto to the resort if staying 4+ nights. Worth it to save $200. *Bring lots of $1 bills or $20 pesos to tip everyone for everything, because the service is outstanding. We arrived with only USD and the front desk was able to help us with currency exchange. Otherwise, USD is accepted for tipping. There is no charge for anything, so don't worry about money for food/drinks on the actual resort throughout your stay. *If there is a free hydrotherapy session included with your stay, take it. Book it and show up knowing you will enjoy hot and cold plunges, high powered jets, relaxation, and it will test your limits but leave you feeling detoxed like nothing else can. Octavio was a gem and at the end gave the most relaxing massage to bring us back down to earth. *Start at the Bocadito taco stand, Guadalupe will hook it UP! and you'll have many drinks and water brought to you within the blink of an eye. *Julieta at the Season Tours desk near the check in area will be so excited to connect you to any/all excursions. I HIGHLY recommend an Isla Mujeres day trip, as the catamaran crew is OUTSTANDINGLY fun, professional, safe, and love to karaoke. We were provided drinks on the cruise to the island, and got to free swim in Bahia Mujeres' turquoise waters for a bit. Nothing like the opportunity of a lifetime to front flip into the warm waters of the Mexican Caribbean. *They do not advertise cigar offerings, but you can ask and they will show you what they sell and let you know where the specified smoking area is located as well. Good prices! The rooms stay on high-powered AC as long as you keep doors/windows closed. Everything fogs up the second you open anything because it is so hot and humid there. Prepare to pack light and sweat alot. The evening wear is somewhat dressy as the restaurants sometimes have dresscodes. They are very upscale and worth the effort. Food was all muey delicioso!! The Caffetto offers fresh juices day/night and baked treats to grab on the way to the beach or after one of the many fitness offerings. Its truly a great way to recharge between events. The beach is raked throughout the day, extremely clean, and is VERY secure. The resort is behind maybe 3 different entry point gates if I remember, and the beach has Police patrol on quads throughout the day. Very private. If beach isn't your thing, there is a swim up pool, cabanas, or just various pools throughout the property. Take your pick for relaxation. We opted for elective fit boxing with Jonathan (he will kick your ass in the best way possible on vacation), and a bicycle tour with Andrea touring all the beautiful jungle trails connecting the Excellence resorts. Both of these lovely staff members were well equipped, on time, and superb at explaining what we were going to do. There was even a stop with Andrea to get a great viewpoint and meet Chencho the local alligator. The ever elusive 5 star review is well deserved in this case. Beloved is the stuff dreams are made of. When it comes to a couples' getaway, it is hard to think of a more ideal scenario. We went for five days and from the onset were treated royally. The level of attention to customer service/satisfaction is unmatched. I have been to several luxury all inclusive and while I loved them all, this is the one I can truly feel I will be returning to for a repeat visit. We met one couple who were on their 3rd visit since December (I am writing this early October) and already booked their next stay for their anniversary in April. The grounds are kept in pristine condition and warm smiles and greeting await you at every turn from every level of the staff. I would be wrong not to give some special attention to a few people who truly stood out to us. Claudia and Oscar on the beach were truly special. The friendly and courteous way they treated us was amazing. Never an empty glass or a question that went unanswered. Rafael at Lupita Lounge caters to you happily and with a big warm smile and friendly conversation. Mariana at breakfast also did a 5 star job. The hydrotherapy at the spa was truly a transformative experience for me. And while the spa itself is incredible, Regina made sure to provide an elevated experience. I saved my favorite guys for last, but I want to reiterate that, start to finish, top to bottom, the entire staff was of the highest caliber. Guadalupe and Misael from Bocadito taco truck really left a deep and everlasting impression on us. Misael was professional, friendly, courteous, and always provided great conversation and insight all while still making sure his other guests were taken care of. We came here 5 years ago for our honeymoon and it was absolutely amazing. Food and service were excellent. We came back 5 years later for our anniversary (March 2024) and we're pretty disappointed with how so much has changed. The food was definitely not as good. I actually got food poisoning one of the nights at Le Biseou restaurant and was sick for the last 2 days of our trip and was unable to eat anything. I informed the front desk upon check out and they ignored and did nothing in regards to it but asked me if i called a doctor. It almost seemed like they wanted to get us out of there quicker after informing them. Service/dining was not great either this time. Each night we had over an hour wait for dinner. Certain restaurants would say they were open and then come to find out they would be closed last minute. We couldn't go to the restaurants we wanted because of the wait times and ended up having to go to the same place multiple times. One night we didn't get served out dinner until 10pm. Super bummed about that Alex in Lupita lounge was absolutely amazing. He was the one who made the trip better. He deserves a promotion for how outstanding he was. Guadalupe at the taco cart was incredible and the coffee cafe was great. The spa confirmed our 75 min couple massage via email with the 20% discount for booking early. When we arrived for our appointment they said it was a mistake and only had us down for a 50 minute massage. That it would be another 172$ if we wanted to add on another 25 minutes without a 20% discount. This was absolutely crazy to me considering i showed the email and it was a mistake on their end. All in all, the resort grounds are beautiful but we were highly disappointed this time around and will most likely not be returning. read more

If I could give Beloved 100 stars, I would. This was my first all-inclusive resort experience and I'm not sure if it can be topped, the bar has now been set high by the amazing service and amenities at Beloved. We booked a casita suite with a private pool for our anniversary. Booking was seamless and our rate came with free roundtrip airport transfer and covid testing onsite (vacation made easy already!). When we arrived, we were greeted with champagne and the nicest staff I've ever met. Unfortunately there was a slight hiccup with their reservation system and the casita suite we booked was not available for the first two nights of our stay. They quickly remedied this by offering us a swim-up suite for the first two nights, a refund for the difference between the casita and swim-up, AND threw in a complimentary anniversary package that included 50% off massage services and a 4 course romantic dinner on the beach. Talk about amazing customer service.. needless to say, we weren't upset about the hiccup at all, given that we got to experience both rooms we were debating between booking. A hydrotherapy session is included with your stay but must be booked within 24 hours of arriving! This was so relaxing, a must do. The Excellence app made everything super easy, from looking at the activity schedule to menus for each restaurant and bar. During our stay we were able to visit each restaurant and each of our meals were delicious. There were some dishes that were a miss, but were still enjoyed. Cocktails were amazing, try the Red Eye Bloody Beer if you love micheladas and the Mexican Lollipop and Everlasting Tequila Kiss for shots. Room service was quick and our rooms were cleaned daily. On our last night, they even decorated our room with a heart made of towels and ran us the perfect bubble bath. We felt extremely safe here despite the pandemic. All of the staff were wearing masks and everything at the resort was clean. This is also a couples resort so everything was fairly low key, no huge crowds and it was pretty quiet. If you're looking for a party resort, this is not it. We truly enjoyed every minute of our worry and stress-free vacation and it was all thanks to Beloved and their friendly staff. This was my first time staying at an all-inclusive hotel and I will not be going to a regular hotel again. This was the best experience and I can't compare this to any other trip I've taken before. Everything was really included and high quality (food was like a 5star hotel). The staff was so nice and personable especially Alberto and Juan (two of the best bartenders I've ever had). The spa was worth every peso if you are interested in relaxing on a whole other level- I thought I was in heaven! I will be coming back to Beloved for future vacations. One of the best All-inclusive Resorts ever in Cancun. Located in Playa Mujeres, you are able to unwind and relax without the overcrowded hotel guests. The Beloved Hotel includes two luxurious restaurants and two other more casual establishments. Restaurants 1. Lupita steakhouse - my favorite restaurant by far. All steak selections are cooked to perfection. The Ribeye has the right amount of fat and is well-seasoned. Be sure to try their Provoleta. Having grown up in Argentina it is one of my comfort foods. 2. Le Bisou - great selection of French dishes and also offers buffet style breakfast in the mornings. During dinner there is a live piano player. 3. El Mar - great casual seafood restaurant without sacrificing quality of food. Located right by the beach, you can enjoy the ocean view and the breeze from the waves. 4. La Isla - I love their selection of Italian dishes. They offer great pizza selections and also very tasty pasta. Extras 5. Caffeto- love their coffee selections as well as ice cream and small snacks to choose from. 6. Bocadito- literally a small Taco truck. Authentic taco selections. MUST TRY !!! Overall service from every staff member is great. Everyone is friendly and attentive. Negative Parts - the room's Jacuzzi worked the 1st night. However the second night it stopped working. On one night, the toilet didn't work from 4am to 6am. Small areas in the room were dated. Not 5-star but pretty good. Beach staff are amazing as was the taco truck. We stayed in Building 1 with a great view. Housekeeping somehow was always late afternoon. LeBisou breakfast buffet was not good as the food on the steam table wasn't replaced frequently. Coffee service at breakfast was slow. The coffee shop had excellent choices and very tasty. Dinner restaurants were hit and miss with regard to food quality. Waiting to be seated between 30-60 minutes was common. So we ordered room service 3 evenings. Lounge bar staff did great work. Understaffing of the restaurants may have contributed to long wait times. For a resort to have received many rewards from travel organizations, one would expect better dinner service. My wife and I put priorty on relaxation when we go on vacation and Beloved are experts in providing it! This is our 2nd time coming to this resort and all I can say it has gotten even better than before. I am going to break this review up into several parts: Room, food, Drinks, beach and employees. Starting with the Room. We booked an ocean front casita with private pool. This room is 1098 sqft. When you come in there is a huge bathroom, with double sinks, a huge shower that has a rain head, wand and swiss body shower, toliet room, its a frosted glass door, but no biggie for us and the mini bar is also there. The mini bar comes with all the basics and liquor that can be customized. We really on use the water and maybe eat the snacks. The Bed is amazing, super comfy and you can order custom pillows. The room has a few outlets and usb ports, but not over the top. Then a small pub table and full sitting area with couch and table, a Whirlpool tub that looks out towards the beach and a TV that can swival. The main feature is outside the sliders, the large patio, with day bed, table and chairs and the over 4ft deep plunge pool. We liked the pool so much we never set foot in the main pool. The room has a huge walk in closet with safe and a box to place dirty dishes. They asked when we liked the room clean and what time we wanted turn down, they were always there on time. My wife and I love this room and hope to have Con# 2 the next time! Now the Food: Lets start with Breakfast. Now Le Bisou, El Mar and La Isla all serve breakfast ala cart. El Mar has more mexican themed items, Eggs Motul which are fried eggs over a corn tortilla with plantains and tomato sauce. Eggs Albnil That were srambled eggs with flank steak. This dishes were super tasty. We really loved Le Bisou for breakfast, they had amazing french toast but the poached egg over toast with mushrooms is the best breakfast dish ever!!!!! Also Karla is the supervisor and she is a friendly face from our last visit. She is a huge asset to Beloved. They also have some pretty amazing dishes at La Isla that are baked in the stone oven. We also had room service coffee every morning always quick and hot. Lunch: We tried to eat lunch on the beach most days. We really liked the shrimp tostadas, pizzas, burgers and pretty much anything they made in the beach snack hut. You could also go to La Isla or EL Mar for lunch. We did order room service 1 day for lunch and the burger wasn't very tasty. Dinner, we had our first dinner at Lupita Steak House. We went items on the Mexican side of the menu, So I had a dish with Flank steak and my wife had a huge chicken flute, it was like a giant taco. That night Paola the hostess told my wife she would arrange a special dinner for our anniversary with churros that my wife asked for. We went back a few days later, and had a special meal that was amazing. It had a steak stuffed baked potato, poblano soup, a cobb salad, a tray with a new york strip and a filet mignon and several various sides and dessert was homemade churros with a choclate dipping suace. This was amazing, everything was perfect. At Le Bisou my wife had the French onion soup, I had a a mushroom tart and we both had scallops for dinner. The food was all really good. At La Isla we had pizza night, we each ordered a salad and split pizza. We had a few different ones and our favorite had moz and sliced potatos. At El Mar we really enjoyed the surf and turf, the steak was cooked to perfection and the lobster isn't Maine lobster, but was good for warm water lobster. They have an amazing dessert the Chocolate fondant that is a chocolate lava cake. All in all the food is some of the best I have had at an all inclusive. Drinks: Juan in the lobby bar is the best bar tender at the resort. All of his drinks are mixed to perfection and he can carry a great conversation. Lupita Lounge had the next best drinks and then the beach drinks were hit or miss. They have a good selection of brands, but they also face supply issues so they may not have everybrand, but they will get the job done. The Beach was fantastic. We arrived at the resort around noon, so our room wasn't ready. After lunch we hit the beach and Francisco got us a great spot in the shade. Don't worry about the towel game, tell Francisco, Christian or Claudia at the concierge stand on the beach and they will make sure you are comfy with all the towels, drinks, food and pretty much anything you need. We rented a cabana for almost every day, its $60 but you get a great space, and a few extra perks. Christian and Francisco really looked after us and the waiters Oscar and Alex always were right on time. We were lucky with great weather and beautiful water. We also had Eduardo take us out on the HobeCat. It was a 30 minute sail to pretty blue water. The beach has great sand and you can walk forever. I had stayed at Finest Resorts, which is owned by the same group as Beloved which is called Excellence and loved my stay at Finest. We wanted a smaller, adults-only experience and chose to stay here. This is not a hotel for foodies, unfortunately. I thought it was going in. But unfortunately the food is not that good. We quickly learned that you have to ask the waiters what they recommend to get the best dishes. Otherwise if you just order on your own, you'll most likely get something not good. Lovely gem! We spent a couple of days at Beloved back in April. This place was fantastic. We had previously stayed at Finest (loved it) and decided to try Beloved. Super happy we did. The hotel itself is beautiful as well as the grounds. We were greeted by Juan Carlos and Claudia checked us in. You can exchange money at the hotel rather than the airport. The room was spotless and very spacious. The food was fantastic at all the restaurants. Do not miss the taco truck or the ice cream/coffee shop. In addition, the spa was amazing. Alejandra was great with setting up our treatments. We did the hydrotherapy and couples massage. Barbara (masseuse) & Maria Juanita (masseuse) were both fantastic. I'd recommend them for the massages. In addition, Fanny Lu did a wash & set for me and it turned out great ( I am very finicky especially about my hair) but she did awesomely. On the beach Christian, Eduardo, Luis, Oscar, and Alex were always making sure we had a drink nearby. Eduardo at Aquaworks was very resourceful in answering water-based activities. The Beach of course is clean and beautiful. They keep everything very clean. The grounds are tended to daily. You can see the attention to detail. The staff is outstanding. Everyone is always smiling and attentive. El Mar : Thank you Yaritza, Karla, Manolo and Isamel. Lupita Lounge: Alberto is so awesome and always made our Lupita lounge experience fun. Also do not miss out on events that take place on the beach or the Lupita lounge. They are so fun! Elizabeth was so kind and welcoming during these little pop-up events. For example guac making, hat decorating, and the Mayan Ritual. I would like to say though that unfortunately, some people were laughing during this Mayan Ritual. It is embarrassing and unfortunate that these fools could not control themselves and RESPECT this cultural custom. Please be mindful that this is a cultural observance and that respect bestowed. They also had onsight Covid testing which makes life easy. So this happened: One night I was unwell just felt a little dizzy, left dinner and returned to my room. Within 5 minutes the general manager called me asking me if I was well. Obviously, everyone's in a Covid panic. She asked me if it was okay for the MD to call me and triage me over the phone. I, of course, was compliant. He called, we spoke, and that was it. I thought this was fantastic. They are truly paying attention to possible Covid cases! We are looking forward to going back! Absolutely one of the best resorts I have ever stayed in! The staff people are actually GENUINELY nice! (I've stayed at MANY resorts in Cancun and here it's easy to tell the difference). The staff here does not have a high turnover rate and stay with the hotel for years! Pro's: The service is top notch and the beach is beautiful!!! The food at the Mar restaurant is fantastic for breakfast and lunch. The Lupita grill is out of this world for dinner! Con's: The pool is actually frigid. A lot of people were complaining about the temperature. The ocean is actually warmer than the pool! The hot tub isn't much better. The sushi can use some work. The rice isn't cooked great or the right way. Other than that I can't find many faults! Drink taste much better than other resorts without being too watered down and the rooms were mind blowing clean and comfortable (the mattress was amazing!!). Besides it being stunning at the resort, whether you're chilling by the pool or lounging with your feet in the sand on the beach, the service was extraordinary from every member of the staff the second we arrived to the last minute we were there. The staff was always extra caring, kind, thoughtful, and very attentive. I have nothing but appreciation and positive feedback for the entire team at Beloved! Shoutout to guest services manager Christian who was always checking in with us to ensure we were enjoying ourselves, as well as Orfanel at the front desk and Freddie our bellhop, these two were always there to help with any request or assistance when needed! Our stay was further enriched with all our dining experiences! First and foremost, the Bocadito taco truck has the best tacos I've ever had! Seriously cannot recommend trying it for lunch and shoutout to Marilo for making those amazing tacos for us, we loved them! Our experiences at all the restaurants were wonderful as well, Pacheco at La Isla was great, our hosts Ramon & Kassandra at Lupita Steakhouse were so sweet and our servers Cesar & Carlos were the best! We also frequented the Lupita lounge right outside of the steakhouse where we enjoyed live music every night, and even a portrait painting one night! Thank you to Adilia for waiting on us at the lounge and always being attentive! Nestled up along the coast and away from the city center. This place is great if you're looking for a quiet get-away - adults only and no kids! Staff was super friendly and always greeted you (and sometimes by name). Food was so-so. It's not bad but definitely not the best you can experience with an all inclusive. I think the worst experience was the Lupita - somehow the modern Mexican theme just didn't pan out. The best was the Mexican night @ El Mar where they served quality tacos with super good guac. If you're a big drinker, Beloved has you covered. Each room is equipped with 4 bottles of hard liquor or you could go down to one of the many bars scattered across the property. The spa facility is awesome - very open and the well equipped. Tips: the pool with the float bar is heated. It's great for catching a pre-dinner drink. Also let them know it's your anniversary - you'll get a free hydro-therapy treatment @ the spa along with a champagne breakfast in room on a day of your choice. read more

If you're looking for a resort that is very intimate and quiet this maybe the location for you. This resort has exceeded my expectations with their hospitality and service. In my opinion, its one of the best resorts I've been to in a while and I heard they just open a new location in Jamaica a few months ago. Now, I know a lot of people are skeptical when it comes to Mexico but trust me when I say we had the best time here. And in my opinion I think everyone should visit this country and form their own opinion on the matter before jumping to any conclusion. Now let's get back to good stuff! First, this resort is located in a gated community with 6 other resorts so it's pretty safe so don't worry! Second, we made reservations with a airport transportation company called Canada Transfers which was the best! Our driver Jorge was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local community. He played Bob Marley for us while we drove to the resort and we had the best discussion. Third, this resort is more for grown folks so it's not like the Cancun you read about or seen on YouTube lol. It's very peaceful, calm, and beautiful. Finally, it's hot here, so for those of you who need sun screen make sure you have that in stock! At the beach the breeze is nice so just find your spot and order up some drinks and relax. Ladies make sure you pack a hat your going to need that! Oh Yeah I forgot about the food, it's pretty good here and very organic. You actually taste the flavor of the food and ingredients. We stayed at Beloved May 21-24th for our 10th Anniversary and loved it. I had arranged a shared shuttle to the resort via Expedia but the resort also has a company you can arrange through. We were met with cold towels and champagne when we arrived; those riding with us in the shuttle going to a different resort seemed impressed by this welcome. We were ushered inside and after a short wait, checked in. The staff took our towels and added a warm press on our shoulders; very spa-like, especially with the scents. ALL staff were very accommodating and nice from arrival to departure. I had previously requested a specific two-story oceanfront Casita but it wasn't available. The front row of casitas appear to be further from the beach as they progress but are only set back 5-10 feet from building to building (I.e. I imagine all the ocean-front views are the same). We were walked to Linda 3 with the bellhop who happily assisted with our bag. Opening the door, we were met with a clean, white suite, with champagne and fruit. Our mini bar was stocked with pop, water, snacks and five bottles (Appleton rum, Jack Daniels, Sky vodka, Milagro tequila, and a Merlot). We threw on our suits and headed down to the beach. The fine sand light tan beach is well maintained. We never had a problem finding a chair (as we've had with other resorts) and I think this is largely made possible by their policy of not 'reserving' chairs. We grabbed some drinks at the nearby swim up bar and headed for a walk down the beach. The surf was slightly rough due to the rainy season. We ordered room service and ate at all four restaurants over the next couple days. We never had to wait, no matter the time we went. The restaurants all offered great dishes, varying in vegetarian options, meat choices, salads, cold/hot appetizers and desserts. I love spicy food and these options were a little lacking but could easily be solved by asking for peppers or La Mar offered me a excellent spicy white sauce...again, they go above and beyond to meet requests. Drink variety was excellent and we never got tired or stuck with the same old drinks. You will need a cover up for breakfast and lunch at the restaurants by the beach. Although they do come through with pizza or food served on the beach if you don't feel like leaving your beach chair. We saw an awesome act, Alex Sevilla, in the Lupita Lounge at night and had a live Sax performance we could watch from our room balcony at lunch one day. If you like the nightclub scene this isn't it. It's laid back, relaxing, romantic entertainment. Maid service and turndown service was great, one day we were surprised by chocolates, and another day they heated the pool at my husbands last minute request. If all you want is to feel special, the staff here makes it happen. On a side note, we always stop at the bank to get a couple twenties in $1 bills before we leave. The Beloved employees do not expect tips but we always did; even $1-$2 doesn't do their great service justice. read more

I'm going to start by saying that my family and I are not newbies to Mexico and specifically to Cancun area. In the past 20 years we've been to Mexico every year and some years more than once. Playa Del Carmen, Revere Maya, Cancun Proper, Playa Mujeres we been everywhere. Different resorts, all inclusive, family friendly, adults only, we've done it all. To no surprise of mine, my wife booked another vacation in Playa Mujeres. This time it was The Beloved Hotel Playa Mujeres, couples only. Honestly, I did not pay much attention to "couples only" thing. And my surprises started even before we left home. I received a welcome email with complete information about airport pick up that was included. Side note: all the other places charged extra or made us arrange for out own transportation. Upon arrival in Cancun we were greeted by Seasons Tours representative and after a very short wait luxury SUV arrived and drove us to the hotel. Check-in and welcome was very short and frankly, if I didn't ask so many question, it would have been even shorter. We were informed of complimentary Hidro therapy treatment that we used later and enjoyed very much. Without any wait we were escorted to our room and got taken aback by what we found there. I am still puzzled by the size of bed, it was huge and very comfortable. The room was big by any standards, clean and full of light. Shower room, walk-in closet, mini-fridge stocked with drinks and snacks, liquor selection, everything was exceptionally nice. Balcony was equally large and had soft bed on it too (nice touch). I could go on and on. For the first time ever in the resorts we didn't have to make advance reservations to the restaurants. What's more, from the first day, whenever we walked into any of the restaurants we were greeted by family name. Don't know if it was face recognition or just staff training, but it certainly added to a special feeling. Every morning we chose to have breakfast in the French restaurant that operated as a buffet. Everything was great, food, waitstaff, piano music (the pianist from Cuba stood out as virtuoso professional). One person that my wife and I would like to nominate for "best server ever" award is Victoriano Villaciston (I hope I've spelled the name right). He was exceptionally attentive, fast and courteous, and all that with a smile and great attitude. After breakfast we always went to the beach. Side note, we didn't leave the place for 12 days and, as I told my wife, if I had 24 more days, there would be no reason to go anywhere. The beach at The Beloved Hotel Playa Mujeres is a gem. Clean, beautiful sand, plenty of umbrellas and beach beds, easy entrance into the water and very attentive beach staff and beach servers. Beach servers are constantly there and ready to bring anything beyond reasonable. I've seen people ordering food from two different restaurants and without any complains, servers would accommodate. My wife and I made friends with Beach Concierge Claudia Munoz Hernandez. What a wonderful lady, with a big heart and mission to make everyone feel welcomed and pampered on her beach. She, of course, figured out that our native language is Russian (we are not from Russia, we are from Ukraine and Moldova, but language......) and made us a farewell paining using sand (I'll try attaching a picture). Claudia is the type of professional that makes you feel good by just having a heartfelt conversation while providing world class service. Thank you, Claudia, and best to you and your son. My husband and I had an incredible experience at Beloved. The resort is boutique sized - 100 guest rooms in all. The smaller size makes it feel so intimate and special. We really did feel like we were part of the Beloved family. Saul, Luis, Juan, Ingrid, and Walter are just few of the Beloved team members that made our experience a once in a lifetime one. Everyone throughout different parts of the resort remembered our names and even our favorite drink order! When he found out that we are Greek, Saul went out if his way to arrange a special gyro (not on the menu at all) lunch for us! We felt so so special - the definition of high quality hospitality. The accommodations made us feel like VIPs. A treat arrived everyday around 5pm. The staff decorated our door and left us a sweet letter for our honeymoon. The housekeeping team is amazing - our room was always absolutely perfect. In terms of room type I highly recommend booking a beach view two story casita suite with the plunge pool. We had breakfast on our private rooftop every morning and enjoyed a spectacular view from both our balcony and rooftop all day and night. In reference to COVID-19 standards the resort couldn't have done better. They checked our temperature upon checkin, gifted us a welcome box with masks and sanitizer, they hand everything to you with tongs, every time you enter a restaurant they offer you hand sanitizer, there are no buffets, the menus are all organized in an app you can download on your phone, the beach concierge handles all of the towels, the entire staff wears masks, etc. They also make the test to get back to the USA easy. They set up a time for us to go to their sister resort next door and carted us over there where the test was only 10 minutes and then they personally delivered our results as well as emailed and printed them for us. We had no issue at the airport. They go above and beyond to make sure you are safe. The service at the pool is so quick and friendly. The pool is the perfect place to lounge, drink and eat. The service at the beach is just as high quality. The beach concierge couldn't have been better at surprising us in cute ways. We would switch between the two and pop in and out of the restaurants very easily. No schedule, no problem. The culinary experience at beloved is perfect. The presentation of the food is gorgeous. The service couldn't be better. And every single dish we ordered was delicious. The view at the beach and pool restaurants are Instagram worthy. We did visit the coffee bar multiple times a day because they make a fantastic latte. Sushi in the courtyard during the live entertainment was the highlight to our happy hour everyday. If I could have breakfast and dinner at the French restaurant every day of my life, I just might. The hydrotherapy session at the spa was so much fun to do together. It's a series of different hot/cold water related experiences on a circuit, lasting an hour. We left SO RELAXED. We had a prefix menu with a rose petal covered table and wine at the French restaurant on our last night. The general manager, chef and sommelier took the time to give us the history of Mexican wine and present us with unbelievable dishes in both presentation and taste. When we returned to our room they left us a sweet surprise. We are booking a trip to Beloved again ASAP. This was my first all-inclusive resort experience, which - from discussion with other guests - may have spoiled me forever. Beloved is a boutique hotel tucked between the marina and the larger Excellence resort next door in Playa Mujeres, a quiet spot about twenty minutes north of the bustling Hotel Zone in Cancun. If you are looking for a mellow, kid-free environment for relaxing, then this is the place. If you are looking for a party scene, lots of mingling with others, and quick access to non-hotel restaurants and shops, you'll be sorely disappointed. The grounds of Beloved are beautiful and you can tell that the staff works hard to keep them that way. We saw tons of landscapers, guys tending to the pools, and painters doing touch-ups in the open-air hallways. The attention to detail pays off because it had the nicest common spaces I've ever seen at a hotel. The service was good with a few standouts, including our bellhop Jose, Cesar at Isla Grill, Alberto at the Lupita Lounge, and Jared at the beach. We had to adjust to a slower pace with check-in/check-out and food/drink delivery, but we were on vacation so it really didn't bother us. It was obvious that the staff were committed to keeping guests happy. We opted for the junior suite with ocean view and couldn't be more pleased. The room was generously-sized, the shower was enormous with good water pressure, the bed was comfy, and the balcony was great for lounging with a table, two chairs, and a bed. I'm glad we went for an ocean view because it was nice to start and end our day overlooking the water. I will say that the room may be awkward for friends to share (unless you're really, really close!) because there is a large window from the shower into the rest of the room and the door to the water closet is frosted with gaps above/below. The food was mediocre (our fish and beef were consistently overcooked), but apparently better than at most all-inclusives according to fellow guests. Fortunately, we found things we liked (the guacamole was yummy!) and we were there to relax, not for fine dining. The beach is on the small side, but beautiful with plenty of shady beds and chaises. The spa is gorgeous; the hydrotherapy circuit that was included with our room price was worth checking out. The gym is better than the average hotel workout space. The daily activities are limited, but enough to keep you busy if you're tired of relaxing - Spanish lessons, kayaking, bike rides, mojito tastings. The live music every night at Lupita Lounge was surprisingly good, especially Claudia Trevino. All in all, Beloved definitely belongs on the short list of places to stay in Cancun if you appreciate good service and want to avoid the hustle and bustle. read more

Spent 3 nights at the Beloved resort. It is a wonderfully relaxing resort. The property is very enchanting with lush foliage in abundance. The special Beloved scent in the lobby area is a beautiful fragrance. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Everyone from room attendants, restaurant staff; bellman and grounds crew offer friendly exchanges daily. Our room was beautiful and very spacious. The bathroom and shower is very modern and inviting. Our king bed was comfortable and the bar was stocked continually. Our balcony overlooked one of the huge pools which is beautiful in itself. The various restaurants are good but my favorite was the breakfast buffet. The breakfast selections were amazing. It was the best breakfast buffet I have ever experienced. 10 different juice options, various seafoods, eggs for various taste, fruits, vegetables and even Mexican breakfast chimichangas. Of course all the breakfast meat options you can name were available as well as nutritional items. I ha e only two complaints- the water in all the pools was too warm. It was hot outside and a cool pool would have been more refreshing. Secondly the internet in the rooms is very archaic. In 2019 excellent internet connection is expected. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the spa and the staff arranged for us a private snorkeling sailboat afternoon which was wonderful. The Beloved is wonderfully relaxing. We will return read more

Stayed at Beloved this month (July 17)' and absolutely loved it. If you're worried about safety, there's no need. It's very private and you go through 2-3 gates just to get onto the property. When you arrive, you know this is a special property and the service is 5 star. We spoiled ourselves and stayed in the 2-story with plunge pool, which probably spoiled us forever. We enjoyed it every day - in the morinng and afternoon or evening. PROS: Property is beautifully maintained, the room was wonderful, always got a spot on the beach (didn't have to camp out super early), nice beach and water area (not too much seaweed). 90% of the people working there were awesome and had a smile on their face. Loved the adults only, laid- back atmosphere. Since it's so private, vendors are not on the beach bombarding you like in other places. We also enjoyed the water sports, did the parasailing, jet ski, etc. Lots of fun. Also got a massage at the Spa. What a beautiful, relaxing space. It is super over-priced (way more than I would spend in the US), but the service is so much better than I've ever rec'd in the US at a spa. We didn't regret it at all. CONS: The only real con is the bathroom situation (see pics). For our room type, the toilet is in the bathroom area behind the bed, and as I'm sure others have mentioned- it's not fully enclosed. There's a frosted glass door that is open at the top and the bottom, and the frost does not cover the entire door, so you could see into it. This setup doesn't exactly foster a romantic atmosphere, since you can hear everything... Awkward, so you just have to find ways to work around it and not let it bother you. There also wasnt the Mexican food I was expecting- no tamales, enchilades, tacos, etc. That was disappointing, but I guess they serve more generic resort type food at all inclusives. There is very little nightlife. They try to schedule something each night, but there is no dancing and no late nights. There was a casino night, but it was outside, so everyone was hot and sweaty. It would be much more enjoyable if they had an indoor area with a/c to hold evening everts. Lastly, the included house wine isn't great, and purchasing from the wine list is very expensive- about $100 for a $10-15 bottle of wine. I recommend stopping at a convenience store somewhere to pick up wine if you are a wine lover. Despite the few cons, we loved our vacation and very happy we chose to stay at Beloved. It's an amazing place. Would highly recommend it, if you're looknig for a quiet, romantic getaway. read more

We came to Beloved for a mommy daughter extended weekend based on my daughter's past experience with the resort. We love this resort, the service is amazing. While you are there you will not need or want for anything. Everyone is extremely friendly, kind, and professional. We reserved two swim up rooms which was very nice and convenient. I must admit we only went into that pool once since it was much warmer than the main pool. The vibe here is just so relaxing and calm. If you are looking to turn up this is not the resort for you. If you want to relax and enjoy good food, amazing service and the beautiful beach Belove is a great choice. We were also celebrating my daughter and my niece's birthday. The resort made them a special authentic Mexican dinner and the food was amazing. They personalized the table for them and it was just a really nice experience. They definitely take the extra steps to make people feel pampered. All the restaurants are very good I would say the same level as a good restaurant in NYC. The only exception was the sushi restaurant, it wasn't as good as NYC sushi. I really love that each restaurant had a Vegetarian menu and the green juice on the cantina was the best green juice I ever had. The taco truck is convenient and has a different special each day. The beach service is exceptional, as soon as you think of something amazingly the wait staff appears. Also unlike some other resorts there is no need to fight for spots the beach staff will find you a spot or create one for you. We also went out on the catamaran twice and it was so much fun our only regret was not bringing our phones to capture the experience. The spa the gym every amenity offered is top notch. Back when my friends and I used to throw parties, I would tell people that "all-you-can-drink isn't a challenge". I probably should have remembered those words before going all out at this all-inclusive resort. I haven't been to too many resorts in Cancun (n=2), but I can say with some certainty that The Beloved has got to be one of the best. It has all the amenities you'd expect, as well as some surprises. The rooms are great. I stayed in one with a king size bed overlooking two of the pools. The room was huge, with a couch, a jacuzzi, two sinks, full bar, and one of the greatest showers ever. No, really. The shower was like the size of a steamroom. The fully stocked bar is great for when you're depressed and just want to drink alone. There's also a refrigerator full of stuff like bottled water, Fanta, chocolate milk, and candy. Makes sense since the resort is kid-friendly. The cleaning staff came by every day and undid the messes I created every day, replacing towels, making the bed, and even folding my clothes. On the last night, they left rose petals and chocolates. I may or may not have had a rose petal bath in the jacuzzi while eating fajitas (spoiler: I did). By far, our favorite part of the resort was the swim up bar. It's right underneath Isla Grill and is the main pool where everyone hangs out. The water is about 3 and a half feet high, so great for lazing around. There's also a hot tub off to the side which can fit around 10 people. Good for when the pool's a little too cold. The bartender Enrique is hilarious and kept us on a regular cycle for shots. Some of them were of questionable color, but hey, when in Mexico... There's also poolside food service. One time, we were musing that it would be great if we could stay in the pool and have food come to us. Then 5 minutes later, there were 3 guys with trays of h'orderves passing food out while we didn't have to exit the pool. Couldn't have been more perfect. In terms of restaurant options, there are quite a few. The entire resort is pretty condensed, so you can just walk everywhere within a few minutes. I think this covers all of them: 1) Aroma is great for breakfast. They have outdoor and indoor seating. It's pretty much a breakfast buffet with a made-to-order omelette station. They also have DIY Bloody Mary's and Mimosas to take care of your hair-of-the-dog needs. The food changes up every morning so you're not constantly eating the same food, and they have a ton of hot stations as well as other things like yogurt and cereal. We also had the rehearsal dinner here. 2) As mentioned above, there's Isla Grill which overlooks the main pool. The food is decent if you're hungry, but nothing special. There's a salad bar in the back, and their flank steak burger is okay. Their fish tacos were adequate, and their fried shrimp was just plain weird. 3) The best restaurant is probably Lupita, which I only went to once. It's their fancier restaurant with a pretty big wine list (that you have to pay for), and they have rotating specials based on different regions (they were featuring dishes inspired by Oaxaca when I went). We had a bunch of appetizers to share and everything was pretty good. 4) There's also a sushi bar outside by the lounge (where there's also live music early in the night). As to be expected, the sushi isn't the greatest, but it'll do when you just need a quick snack to fill you up before drinking more. They also do habanero tequila shots at the sushi bar, which are quite dangerous. Not only because they're tasty, but also because they are SPICY. Heartburn sufferers need not apply. 5) My personal favorite place was the smoothie/fresh juice bar called Natura, which also did crepes and ice cream. It was essential for getting in some nutrients and vitamins while drinking, before drinking, and after drinking. It's by the kid's area, where there's a big slide as well as their babysitting center. There's also adult games like pool, foosball, ping pong, and giant chess. For some reason, Mexican resorts always have giant chess (n=2). 6) On the beach, there's also a rotating grill serving up different things every day - one day it was burgers, another day quesadillas/burritos, and another day fajitas. Good times. The Beloved is right on the beach, so you can catch some rays or walk down to the other resorts to mingle. Didn't see too many people down there though. In terms of wedding stuff, the beach was a lovely venue, followed by the reception at El Mar, which is their restaurant overlooking the water. Food and service was generally great. Of course, there are also other amenities like a spa (which you have to pay for) and the gym (which is attached to the spa but free and clean). All in all, if you need a kid-friendly option, I can't say enough great things about The Beloved. It's on the pricier side, but you definitely pay for quality. The staff was amazing, and we made some friends here. Everyone was just so happy and for good reason. read more

I meant to write this review 4 years ago. I have been back already 4 times altogether and this place is truly wonderful. Ironically, I do not want it to become popular with American tourists because their kids always ruined everything. That including the very last time an American father who let his 3 years old daughter banging on the piano right outside of the Aroma restaurant....etc. This place is romantic, quiet, small, classy and beautiful. Sitting at the seaside El Mar restaurant everyday is therapeutic. Looking at the ocean, listening to the music, zipping my Mojito with the amazing NYC quality cuisine. I am totally unwind and could not careless who is the next president. Yes, all the rooms are gorgeous, of course. Gym is good and clean. Food are amazing and service is great. The aquatic spa therapy was magical and we have been using it everyday. Couple things that need to be improved are the room ventilations. Some room's AC is not strong enough. WIFI is very weak or none existent in certain rooms. Finally the gym, it needs more equipment. I love this hotel and oh, they actually remember my name. I looking forward to come home. read more
