I literally never review anything on here or anywhere. That's how great my experience was at The Bent Lens. All I needed was to have my existing glasses prescription updated, it had expired and I have since moved and the original doctor refused to renew it (and it was only valid for one year). I seriously called about 10-15 optometry offices and stores around Denver, NONE OF THEM said that they could just update my prescription for me. They said I'd need an entire eye exam (100 dollars) and regardless that's not what I wanted as I would have then had a different prescription, wouldn't have done me any good as I want a second pair of glasses I can wear interchangeably with my current pair, so the prescription would have to match, and no one would guarantee that they could do that. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard, I didn't expect it to be, just to update my current prescription so it wasn't listed as expired. But no one would do it. I called the bent lens and spoke with Linda, she was so nice and said yes of course they could do that. I came in the next day and she had me wait just a moment to talk to the doctor, Todd. He said yes of course he could update it he just would need to give me a quick exam and regardless, since I see perfectly fine and am happy with my current prescription, he would just rewrite it so it wasn't expired. He did just that, charged me 20 dollars just for an office visit, totally fair and I was able to just walk in and do it without an appointment because I luckily came in when Todd wasn't with a patient. Soooo many Doctors would have made me make an appt regardless of if they were actually with someone then or not. Overall, this place was great. They helped me out with something simple that no other place in Denver seemingly could. I highly recommend it for all your optometry needs! It's also right in lari we square in a great location. I've been a patient for about 7 years and could not be happier with the service and the products they offer. Dr. Torrey is personable, caring and informative. I visit every year for my annual checkup and contact lens purchase and every time, I leave happier and better informed than when I arrived. Linda, who has been there as long as I've been a patient, is also very personable and efficient. You will always get either Linda or Dr. Torrey on the phone when you call. When I first became a patient of The Bent Lens and Dr. Torrey, it was a five minute walk to their office. Three years ago I moved to Westminster, so continuing with them isn't a choice of convenience. I'll admit that every year when it's time to make an appointment, I have a brief moment of wondering if I should just find something closer. And then I remember that I've always received such great service (and a fair price) from Dr. Torrey. Todd is awesome, he's knowledgeable, thorough and patient. This is the best experience I've had getting a new prescription. I knew my long distance vision was not how it should be. My last two optometrists gave me different advice: one said one eye is stronger than the other, the other said they are the same but one has an astigmatism. Both times I left feeling like something was missing. Enter Todd: I didn't share my current prescription and after doing a thorough eye check he nailed it. He explained why both eyes are the same and why I don't have an astigmatism. He gave me 3 options and gave me all the time looking through the various prescriptions to see which i felt was best. He let me actually try the prescription in the contacts to see how It felt, a step the others never did. After he did an eye exam and gave me the option if I wanted to have my eyes diluted. He explained what he was checking during the eye exam. He really took his time and I could tell he loves what he does and takes great pride in it. It's his business he worked 17 years building and it really comes through. I can't recommend him enough. The price for the exam was extremely reasonable and the outcome was exceptional. Dr. Torrey is a no-nonsense optometrist, that provides a thorough and accurate exam, at a very reasonable cost. I have had my lenses prescribed several times over the years; he worked with me to create a standard and a custom computer prescription, that works for my office situation. I had an issue with Costco not properly cutting the lenses, so Dr. Torrey went over-and-above to determine the problem (using lens measurement), and simply amending the prescription over email. I absolutely recommend Dr. Torrey to any patient. Since my mid-40s I've been dealing with presbyopia, finding the right contact lens has been a lot of trial and error. Dr. Torrey was patient with me from the beginning till the end. We tried multifocal contact lenses and adjustments for monovision. He was thorough explaining what was going on with my vision and my options. I visited the office at least four times and have found the best compromise for my current vision without using reading glasses. I really feel my husband and I finally found a Optometrist to give us glasses that correct our vision. My husband had been to someone and returned time and again and the glasses were a nightmare.
