The food here is SO GOOD, my boyfriend and I went twice during our 3 day trip. Que diablos ha pasado short rib nachos are amazing! The service is great and the restaurant interior itself is quite nice. The weather was perfect!

My friend and I were doing a mini food crawl through downtown Encinitas and decided to stop by here for a quick snack and drink. I guess you could call it a bit of a girl dinner (or snack) - aperol spritz + onion rings. The vibes were great, especially the back patio area. The service was also pretty solid and we didn't feel like anyone was rushing us out, despite just ordering nibbles. Great spot overall!

8 wings = $23 ouch. Honestly a not a bad spot, but also it's not a great spot. The name is pretty misleading as the only German item on the menu are the pretzels. No German beer neither. It's located on the main strip of Encinitas so it's always popular.

Was craving some fries so we went here after looking at the menu! Pretty popular spot for lunch/ brunch. The restrooms were clean and the fries were really good! Service was excellent! The price of the food was a bit tad high but other than that it was great! The truffle fries were lacking in truffle flavor it tasted mostly like regular fries and salt.

The waiter and hostess were nice. We were seated right away. But, this place had the worst burnt fish that I've ever had, and our appetizer was cold. I mean I was expecting to receive a nicely seasoned crunchy, golden brown, piece of fish, but instead I got..... If you go here, the safest option would probably be a burger.

Came here with a friend on Easter Sunday around 9:30 PM and had a great experience overall. It was pretty mellow for a holiday night with just a handful of people there with plenty of seating both inside, outside, and at the bar. We ended up grabbing seats at the bar, which was a great choice. We ordered the: *Fig Burger with Brussels Sprouts: the Brussels sprouts were phenomenal. They had what tasted like pecans, some kind of glaze, and cheese... seriously so good. The Fig Burger itself was just as impressive with such a unique combo and absolutely delicious. *Steak Sandwich with Onion Rings: this was also a standout. Perfectly cooked, super flavorful, and came with a great dipping sauce that really tied it all together. The onion rings were crispy and on point too. First off, I love that they offer a variety of sides (sweet potato fries, truffle fries, mac & cheese, Brussels sprouts, etc.), though most come with a small upcharge. We had a few drinks and even grabbed a bottle of wine from the bar to take back to our Airbnb, which was a nice bonus. The vibe was relaxed with TVs playing highlights from a basketball game, and the bartender/server was awesome. Parking was easy with free street parking, though that might've been because it was late and a holiday. Only heads up: definitely call ahead about kitchen and closing times, especially on holidays. Online said they close at midnight, but they were actually closing at 11 PM. We were told over the phone the kitchen closed at 9:45 PM, but when we arrived at 9:30 PM, it had just switched to last call. Thankfully, they were kind enough to still get our order in. Overall, phenomenal food, great service, and a solid spot worth checking out. Would definitely come back.

Fabulous place to hang out for Sunday and grab a cold beer! Their beer glasses are chilled and the vibe is relaxed. If you sit on the patio it is a little calmer if you go inside next to the bar it is lively! It must see when you come to Encinitas!

I've been at this place quite a few times, decided I would go ahead and leave a review this time. I love the menu, there is a lot of stuff on this menu and all of it is very very good. Every time I've been there the service has been great and that's what keeps me coming back. Overall, this place is definitely worth giving a try and I would most certainly recommend this place to others.

Love eating here! It's such a fun vibe! You're right in the heart of downtown Encinitas. My husband and I like eating outside when the weather is nice! We have been here many times and have never had bad service! My favorite thing to order is the short rib nachos!

Hearty Bloody Mary. Pretty much a roadside attraction with all the grub. It's more fun than tasty.

The name of the restaurant is kind of German but the food is about as German as the taco shop across the street. Really, the place is about as 'Murican as you can get. It's basically glorified pub grub. It's also family friendly and dog friendly. The loaded poato bites appetizer is very generous and was very good. It's basically potato wedges with cheese, sour cream, and bacon. What's not to like? The Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich was ridiculous. I can unhinge my snake jaws with the best of them but not for this thing. It contains a ton of fried chicken stacked to the sky, with pickles, onions, lettuce, and tomato between buns. Unfortunately, the chicken was fried far too long, was very dry, and the batter was not good. The oil may have been old and it was definitely over-fried. That chicken died in vain. On the other hand, the Cardiff Crack Steak Sandwich was excellent. The meat was tender and the bread was very nice (the menu called it a hoagie but it was unlike any hoagie I have ever seen). Whatever. It's a very good sandwich. The entrees come with a ton of very nicely-seasoned thick fries. Just for fun, I tried the Hearty Bloody Mary which comes with a ton of "fixins" (bacon, celery, cheese, pepperoncini, pickled onion, and a mini Slim Jim. It also comes with a beer chaser. The drink itself was fine. Our server was outstanding. He was friendly, refilled our water constantly, and gave good recommendations. The food portions were generous but the cooking was uneven. Overall, it's a safe choice unless you're looking for a real German beer garden. Prost!

That said, I've noticed a few things lately that have made it a little harder to shop here, especially as the store seems to be getting busier and busier. The biggest challenge has honestly been the crowds. It feels like the popularity of the market has really grown, which is great to see, but it can make the experience a little overwhelming. I also think it may be worth considering a larger location at some point. Parking can be incredibly difficult, especially if you have a larger vehicle, and getting in and out can sometimes be a challenge. I also recently had an unfortunate experience with a few items I purchased. The girl who helped me at the register was very kind and bagged the majority of my items, but a couple of smaller items were left outside of the bag. I was in a rush and completely forgot to grab them before I left, even though I had already paid for everything. I realized it later and called the store to explain what happened. They were kind enough to put my name on a bag and hold the items for me, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, when I came back later that week to pick them up, the items couldn't be found. It seemed like there was some miscommunication between the staff, which was really disappointing because I had specifically called ahead and was told they would be held for me. I completely understand that things can get misplaced, especially in a busy store, but it was frustrating knowing that I had already paid for the items and had made a trip back specifically to retrieve them. I also didn't have my receipt anymore because I had assumed everything had been placed in my bag, which I realize was ultimately my mistake. It's definitely something I won't let happen again. What was disappointing was that, even though the staff remembered me coming in previously, the items ultimately weren't replaced or resolved. I understand that mistakes happen, but I think this could have been handled a little better. Even with these issues, I still genuinely love Seaside Market and want to see it continue to do well. I know that growing crowds and increased popularity can create challenges, but I do think there are opportunities to improve the overall customer experience, especially when it comes to parking, managing the crowds, and communication between team members. The prices have definitely been climbing, and with the store becoming busier, it's getting a little harder to visit than it used to be. Still, there's a reason I've been coming here for years, and I'll continue to support the market. I just hope they're able to find ways to make the experience a little easier as the business continues to grow.

A visit to Total Wine in Encinitas for "curbside pickup" now includes a complimentary gaslighting…read moresession. I ordered a specific vintage Rioja online for curbside pickup. They swapped my order with a younger vintage and failed to mention it. No email. No, "We substituted this because we're out of stock--is that okay?" They quietly swapped it, hoping I wouldn't notice or wouldn't care. But I was buying a Rioja, not a Walmart box wine. I discovered the switch, had to leave my car, grab a shopping cart, go back inside, and find someone to help. That's when the tap dance began. The first employee pretended that vintages didn't matter. He called in the self-proclaimed expert, who introduced himself with, "I'm the wine guy. What's the problem?" As it turns out, the problem was standing right in front of me. Rather than acknowledge that substituting a vintage without informing the customer might be an issue, he spent several minutes explaining why it shouldn't matter. Eventually he landed on, "It's just a $30 bottle of wine." Actually, it was a case. Twelve bottles--$360 of wine. He asserted the two wines were equally rated when they were not. A review from home revealed the younger substitute averaged a full point lower rating (WA, WS, JD, WE, TA). As I explained that vintage and ratings represent value, he interrupted. When I politely asked not to be interrupted, he rolled his eyes, looked away, and said it was time to find a manager. Manager David was as helpful as helpful as a light bulb without electricity. He asked what the problem was. I went through the list, concluding that if he wanted to sell a younger wine with a questionable rating he should have said so and provided some kind of discount. He seemed remarkably uninterested in discussing wine ratings, vintages and economics, so I asked for a refund. That took another ten minutes on top of the twenty I had already wasted. As I left, he offered a casual, "Sorry about that," delivered with all the sincerity of an automated voicemail. Total Wine in Encinitas may be convenient, but their service, honesty and wine knowledge is not. I prefer Vintage Wines out on Miramar Rd for superior wine knowledge, service and honesty.
