I remember coming here a few years ago with my husband and loving the food and drinks but this time around the food wasn't good at all and portions are smaller. German potatoes was very sour and the mustard dipping sauce for the pretzel was very salty. The sausage as you can see was very slim. Prices are also higher but everything has been going up in these times.

The appetizers were all good, but the entrée I ordered wasn't really my thing. The staff was nice and service was quick, but overall it was just okay not somewhere I'd rush back to.

The restaurant is extremely dirty. German restaurant owners take pride in cleanliness. This establishment needs a ton of TLC. Waitress was pleasant. Food was okay.

Ambiance is fantastic. Very wonderful staff. Food is legit German food. With over 350 beers available, you have to visit this place!!!

Recently, one of my co-workers took a job in Georgia. To celebrate his last day, we went here for lunch. I used to pass by this place on the way home from work in the past, but never had a moment to try them out until now. Would this first time go off without a hitch? All of us got seated in separate tables. It is a small place with tables and some pool tables. They also have an outside patio. It is outdated, but a very good neighborhood spot. We all submitted orders days before since our party was just under 20 people. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with bier battered fries. It was very good and delicious. It had enough protein along with fries to keep yours truly full for the rest of the afternoon. Everyone else liked their selection and the waitresses tended to each one of us. Great service indeed. A nice first-time for myself. A welcoming neighborhood place where locals can enjoy. I can definitely see Sophia ordering from here when I bring her for the next visit. Till next time :)

A staple that you have to go to once even if you don't like German food or beer. I am that person so I had low expectations. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. You walk in through an outdoor patio that feels very much like you are in Germany. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the air conditioning and beer and wine. We ordered a pretzel...well because...you have to. It looked very homemade and the mustard was amazing! The menu obviously was primarily german food but there were other options for someone like me. Turkey, salads, etc. I walked around and loved the building. Very old and charming. Maybe could use some touch ups but definitely not the main stream you see everywhere else. They even have a back patio and a gift shop in the back. Everything German. And that is where we bought the mustard they use for the pretzels. A very family owned restaurant with 3 generations that day working. Everyone was very friendly. I would definitely go back.

Cozy place that offers authentic German food. The food was good, the service was good. I would go back if I was in the area.

Came here on a whim... I'm normally not a sandwich girl when I go out to eat, but this was everything and then some! The ambience outside is very relaxing, I love the garden feel. Please don't think you are going to come here and get a Coors light or Heineken. Lol all of the beer here is imported and there's quite an extensive list. Parking is parallel, so be prepared to walk if there's nothing in front.

We had the pork schnitzel with German potato salad and cucumber salad. Delicious. Great service. Schnitzel served was nice and hot. Restaurant had the feeling of being in Germany with a German theme.

Such a cool spot, especially if you have the opportunity to sit outside. The greenery is gorgeous. Inside, you can definitely feel the German-inspired ambience and all of the food smelled good, however we didn't try anything. We came on a Friday night and waited to ask to sit out on the patio, but staff members walked by us many times without helping, so we just wandered to the back and sat at the bar. The bartender was awesome, beer list was good. Sitting inside though, it wasn't much of an "experience". It was an average stop at a bar. We may come back in the future for a true meal

Whether it's with friends or just the two of us, we've never been disappointed. Let's see how this visit went. We were immediately seated once we walked inside. It wasn't completely packed for a Saturday afternoon but staff was really busy with customers. The vibe was one that made us comfortable for the most part. After a few minutes of looking over the menu, we were ready to order. My selection was the Tavern Monte Cristo which consisted of chargrilled chicken and ham as the protein with Gouda cheese and cider aioli fried in a tempura batter with tavern fries. The meal was served hot and ready and tasted great. And having the cranberry coulis as a dipping sauce really added some taste. My only gripe with the sandwich was the amount of protein. I'm not sure if I ate most of it when we dined in, but when I ate the rest for dinner, it was more breading than anything else. Still good but they could've included more. Nonetheless, I was full. Good stuff as always from Park Lane Tavern :)

The mug club you get a full mug (so 24 oz) for the price of one pint. I have to ask if there's rules on what beer you order but that will be in the next review.... on to the food! My husband got the shepherds pie and he said this was an easy 10/10 the lamb was cooked perfectly. Great seasoning and overall flavor this is a hit. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage... man it's going to be hard to try other things on the menu because this was actually perfect. Well, one thing I would LOVE to see is some gravy on the mashed potatoes or even on the side. The potatoes taste great themselves but something in this dish is lacking diverse flavor I feel like that would have brought everything together to make it 10/10. I will still get it again though! Beware for all of my savory people... the cabbage is cooked to have a sweeter taste idk if I loved that but I added a little salt and it was fine. Carrots and mustard were great additions. The sauces were good, especially the beer cheese (at least they haven't changed that). What was pretty terrible were the pretzels themselves. They take the longer soft pretzel logs and cut them into bite size pieces. And then they are FRIED. Who fries soft pretzels? They were hard and greasy. This is the first time in our history of ordering a soft pretzel appetizer that we just couldn't finish it. They were that bad. For entrees Hubby ordered the crispy chicken Caesar and I got the burger with fries. Hubby's salad was huge, but there was way too much Parmesan cheese. He never did get a good taste of the dressing because of that. The chicken on the other hand was well fried and still juicy inside. I ordered my burger medium, and it came out mid-rare, which is how I eat them anyway. The burger itself was salty - guessing the flattop maybe hasn't been cleaned after lunch? The top bun spent a little too much time on the flat top as well. The pickles they use are sour (some people like that, I don't mind), but if you are not a fan of sour pickles, you'll want to skip them. Service was fantastic and it's a very clean place (restrooms are particularly clean). I am sure it is a great place to go for drinks - the bar is pretty extensive. But since we don't bar hop anymore, I don't think we will be going back. One last word on the pretzel appetizer because I am still shaking my head over that. If you want to serve pretzel bites so there are more ways to try all the dipping sauces, just purchase pretzel bites and bake them.

That's a steal, and ended up taking half of it home. This is definitely a place that we will continue to come back to. There's another bar & pool tables in the back as well I believe!

So here it's all about the sampler platter as you get a collection of some German goodies from bratwurst, knackwurst, chicken, corned beef, sauerkraut, homemade German potatoes & red cabbage making for quite the plate so go hungry because it's a lot that will be the only thing you'll want all day! Each of the components on the plate are actually pretty good and this has remained consistent for the last few years while it's not totally authentic it is good enough for park food and that red cabbage and German potatoes salad are super yummy especially the big chunks of apple I got in the red cabbage the sausages had a good snap to them and tasted just like they should! The cheesecake was mid definitely lacked being a cheesecake but I will say before I got a pice of carrot cake here and that was actually really yummy. The fried pickles were ok nothing special I'd just avoid them next time all together and get the sliced one instead as you can't ever go wrong with pickles! The SeaWorld chain has the highest prices for everything no matter what you get or what your doing and they like to tack on a extra 5% charge at the register that they try to hide so be prepared for that too as it's not really clear I just know this because I've seen them do it for the last few years. The dinning area is bench row seating and you can generally find a place to sit even on busy days as this whole area is huge and definitely a nice way to get out of the Virginia heat! Time your meal to one of the shows and you'll get to hear some entertainment on the stage which just sets the ambience for a bit more of a vibe! So overall had we payed full price for the meal it would have been $127 for two of us so definitely use a pass discount should you come here as that will definitely help out a bit, and like I said this is the best restaurant in the chain and we will definitely be back here again during our next visit to the park as it's always what's good!
