Had a date night with my husband for his birthday without the kids and wanted to try Wasserhund since it was recommended by friends. We sat at the bar and Eric the bartender was so hospital and knowledgeable with everything. We loved the t-shirts the workers were wearing so I bought one for my husband's birthday present. Stopped by for dinner on a weeknight. There was rain in the forecast so we sat inside. The pizzas are pretty good sized with a small being planty for one person. We ordered quickly and soon out pizzas arrived. I enjoyed the Rottweiler pizza with its chicken and bbq sauce. The Catnip dessert was also good and can be shared with 3-4 people easily. Love the new location here. Very open, bright, large and small tables, and patio seating. Beer: 4/5: this is a personal preference but I'm not a big fan of the beer. Much lighter selection than I normally drink, and I prefer to enjoy very unique craft beer flavors. But still it's decent enough. Pizza 5/5!: now this is the main reason for coming here. The pizza is phenomenal! It always tastes great with fresh ingredients, well cooked, and delicious even left over. I almost always get the Hellhound, so good if you can handle some spice. I was a little sad to notice that they did not have the Sriracha drizzle but I believe that's due to supply issues. Service 5/5: always and consistently great service here. Never had an issue and they will happily make recommendations for beer or food. Free Parking is best in the garage around the corner. They also do have a small free lot about two blocks away. Sophia and I came to this brewery on a hot afternoon for lunch. We went to their flagship location in Virginia Beach over a year ago so we were familiar with the food and drinks. The first time was very good and left us filled up and satisfied. Would this visit leave us in the same mood? When we arrived, the brewery, which is a bit smaller, had us worried because seating was a bit of a hassle with every table taken. Again, it was lunch time so customers would be present. At large tables, you had separate parties sitting together. Luckily, we were able to snag seating and were served right away. The vibe was pretty chill with pop music playing and everybody enjoying their visit. Can't ask for anything else. For apps, we chose Dog Tails which are fried pickles served with ranch. They were a bit too salty, but I really liked that it was lightly fried. Not a bad way to start things out. For the main course, we picked a large Rottweiler pizza which consists of Beer Can chicken, pineapples, sweet onions, cheese and topped with BBQ sauce. Pretty good stuff with each ingredient coming together. The only slight negative for me is the toppings-to-crust ratio. It can be a challenge making the 'perfect' pizza where it stays straight for each slice every time you hold it up and not have toppings fall. However, it's something I would order again. And you can't compliment all of this without a nice glass of beer. The Pick of the Litter lager....thumbs up. A light beer for yours truly and tasted even better with each sip. This was the name of the beautiful server that assisted us in all our needs while at Wasserhund. His service was amazing and he really made you feel that he liked what he did. I know that sounds crazy....but you guys...I think our server....named mason...liked his job his company and quite possibly....HIS LIFE. He was happy gave great service and thus made us happy. Number Two. The Puggle pizza. Minus the bacon. Pretty tasty pizza nice Buttery crust. I'm pescatarian who mostly eats vegetarian and I love being able to have options. When we arrived, we noticed a great bar setup, smelled good food, and saw a birthday party at another table with parents and their little kids, and I thought, hey, this is a brewery I can get behind- no discrimination! And actually, the food itself was so good that I want to bring the whole family back. We tried the bratwurst (great flavor, suuuper strong house made mustard), pizza (a white sauce/feta combo- absolutely delicious), and the appetizer sampler of pretzel slices, pepperoni, and pizza bread (the cheese on the side was to die for, all the flavor and quality I hoped for at a state fair and never got). And the beer was just excellent, and of course even better on tap. I love that you can do a sampler and get as many as you like, I think around $2.50 a pop. I love a business that provides activities and events for the community to enjoy and Wasserhund's event calendar is always PACKED. Every staff member is so friendly, and I look forward to interacting with them. Eric knows me well enough to have my drink order ready to go. The food is delicious, and I've explored my way around the whole menu. I love to start the night by sharing the Puppy Tails, which are two mini cheese and pepperoni strombolis, covered in a garlic butter blend. Depending on the day, I'll either go with an Italian Greyhound pizza or a brat. I was excited to see currywurst on the menu which was one of my favorite street snacks living in Germany. I came for a run but stayed for the beer. I dropped by Wasserhund Brewing to participate in Point 2 Running's weekly group run. As a dog lover, I was very ecstatic that so many of the menu options had a canine theme. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Wasserhund and hope to visit again in the near future. I gotta say that the service was pretty on point. Atmosphere is fantastic, although it was freakishly cold inside. We came during lunch on a weekday to enjoy some beer and food, while working. Service was great, very attentive. It was surprisingly slow, only a few other people came and went during the few hours we were there. Instead of beer, I tried a few of their seltzers, which were fantastic. I liked them all. Food-wise, it was hit or miss. The Dog Park appetizer was delicious, but we expected it to be quite a bit bigger. Definitely good for 2 people, not really more than that. We also ordered a side salad with chicken. We were surprised that it was only .50 cents to add chicken, but it made sense when it arrived. The chicken was wet and very dark, much like canned chicken would be. Not what you would hope for on a salad. Pizza... maybe. I got the gluten free Puggle pizza, which was super small.
