Sorry this review is a little late. About 3 or 4 months ago I visited The Big Biscuit after looking forward to it for a while. From the first employee that laid eyes on me, every server look like they had just sniffed a big pile of steaming s***. This is a poor management problem if every server has BF (not resting because I get the feeling that they probably emanate sunbeams as soon as they hit Big Biscuit's back door to leave). A solid middle of the road breakfast joint. We sampled a bunch of their more popular items and had mixed results. Not sure what the craze is about, there's always a line into the parking lot here during the weekends. Positives - The yardbird was the best thing we had. It is mild flavored at best, but was cooked very well and while mild, did still taste good. The pancakes are also pretty decent, very large and fluffy - though - no syrup was included in a to go order. Additionally, their portions here are quite large, which is good considering they're a little high price wise. The eggs/bacon/sausage were what you'd expect, not bad, but nothing special. Sweets wise, the bonut is MUCH better than the sticky biscuit dispute being cheaper for some reason. It is battered and cooked like French toast. The sticky biscuit we got looked nothing like the photo, it was just a biscuit dunked in clear frosting and cinnamon on the bottom only, which was disappointing, nothing like the bonut. Negatives - Mostly the environment and the staff. It is loud, crowded, and chaotic. Not what I'd like it sit in first thing in the morning. Felt more like a sports bar on game day. Very glad I got my order to go. My order was nowhere to be found on the pick up shelves despite being ready for about 5 minutes before I arrived. The teenagers who run the check in stand weren't any help and it took a while to even get their attention, despite standing right in front of them. I get teenagers are always that way, but where's the person in charge? One finally flagged down a manager who went to the kitchen and did quickly find my order though he wasn't very friendly. Food wise, I already mentioned the sticky biscuit let down, but that wasn't the worst thing we had. I should add that I am not one who ever wastes food, but the grits here were literally inedible. Watery and must've come straight from a box mixed with water and seemingly out of a microwave. They went straight to the trash, sadly, A suggestion - pricing and portions here are quite high and large. It would be awesome if there were smaller portions are a better discount. They do have half orders and such, but for like $1-2 less than the full order which is silly. Anyway, a good place in a pinch or if you want a more mild meal, but I certainly wouldn't put it above any of the 5000 other breakfast joints in town. read more

Very nice staff and professionalism. Food was exceptional. I ordered my childhood favorite and was awesome. Grits with chopped bacon and 2 eggs on top. I was floored at how well it tasted. If you never liked grits, then this way here will change that. The hostess walked around to every unoccupied table and checked salt/pepper levels, ketchup dispenser cleanliness and all condiments while handling her other duties. Nice and peaceful atmosphere. Waited about 40 minutes when waitlist said about 15-25, no big deal it was Sunday morning so fully understand. They lost me when they brought out drinks. 1 of the drinks had a giant strand of hair right in the middle of it, no server should've missed that when bringing drinks out, rushing your job is not that important. Joined the waitlist on Yelp ahead of time which was great! Super friendly service, large crumbly biscuits, and fresh lemonade. The food came out relatively fast and the wait wasn't bad at all for a Saturday morning. Every single employee we interacted with was so nice!!! We had Mathis as our server and he was very attentive. Five stars for the staff! Wish they would use separate pans for the veggie omelette. It tasted like it was cooked on the same surface as other breakfast meats. I don't think they used a separate pan or griddle or used the spatulas from the breakfast meats. Vegetarians would taste this and be bothered by that. My son's burger came out a few minutes after the rest of the meal and had mayo on it (he asked for no mayo). Other than that the food was good breakfast food. Didn't seem to have any seasoning standing out on any of the dishes, but it was still good and filling. First time here. We came on a Sunday around 10 am. As expected it was pretty busy. We have a party of 8 so we got on the online wait list. Had about a 8 minute wait once we got here. That's very acceptable. Great wait staff. Our waitress was very nice and did a great job taking care of our big party. The food is great. Would love one of these in our neighborhood in Dallas. We checked in with a large party (9) for a birthday celebration on Sunday, August 10, at 10:17 am. It was busy and I was told there would be a 30-45 minute wait. No problem. About 10:30 i informed the hostess that our entire party was present. At about 11:10 i checked again and was told and shown that we were at the top of the list. Any minute now. At 11:30 we were still waiting and told they were about to clear a table. About 11:45 we checked again and the hostess pointed to a large group and said they were waiting for them to leave. About 10 more minutes. They were still eating. While we waited they seated many groups of 4-6. A group of six that checked in an hour after i did was seated. We loved the Big Biscuit on our recent visit for breakfast. The staff was super friendly, the food was very good, and the atmosphere is fun for families and friends alike. We started with the Bonut, and let me to tell you, you don't want to skip this. Three of us shared it for an appetizer (if you eat appetizers at breakfast LOL). It was delicious and tasted similar to a funnel cake. We then had a variety of other entrees, each served with a giant biscuit that was soft and fluffy. My husband and I split The Titanic and Sticky Biscuit. Biscuit and gravy was suppose to come on top of the omelet but we opted to have it on the side. I've never had an omelet where it was liked 5 thin layers of egg between all the ingredients, it was delicious. After finding out this place is a "chain," (there's more than 20 locations in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma) I had lower expectations. But was extremely surprised with the quality of food and friendly service. You get endless refills on drinks. They leave a insulated pitcher of coffee at the table so you don't have to ask for refills. We had the Country Benedict, Lean and Green, Chicken and waffle, gingerbread pancake, buttermilk pancake, Bonut and Sticky Biscuit, which my husband kept calling a "Sticky Bicky." All was very delicious. The waffle was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside with a slight sweetness. Their "Almost Famous" fried chicken is brined for 24 hours and hand-breaded for each order. Comes out piping hot, flavorful and surprisingly juicy for chicken breast. You can tell it is a whole chicken breast that's butterflied not chicken tenders. My husband is a buttermilk pancake snob and has deemed this pancake very good. Doesn't fall apart and tastes like cake batter. The Bonut and sticky biscuit were good but are very sweet. A little goes a long way. We went here this morning to try something new with our family. We have an infant and 2 year old. They seated us in a busy section with all chairs and we asked for a half booth so we could ensure our toddler would be comfortable. They told us they couldn't seat us due to inspections that day and they wait staff can't have more than 3 tables. Fine we will make it work. Food was good. But the second our food was delivered we never saw our waiter again. We had to ask several servers passing by (because ours never even walked by) for a fork, extra napkins, we waited 20 minutes for the check which again I had to ask for because our server was no where in sight. For only having 3 tables the service was poor. My toddler was starting to have a meltdown and we needed our check and to get out. We should have gone to our usual, neighborhood Jam. Our server was very gracious in helping us navigate the menu to fall in line with the most popular dishes. Mine was the burrito. Here's where things were left a bit wanting. The portions were huge, which is great because it makes you feel like you are getting value. However, the taste fell a bit short. Being that this was one of the more popular dishes, I expected some amazing things and perhaps that was the issue, I falsely set the bar too high.
