Alright this is a hard review so we will break it down in parts. Check in was awesome and super easy through the Yelp app and checked in when we arrived. Smooth sailing and waited for a table on site about 5-6 min. Ordered and waited this is where this store has work to do. My wife and I watched the frenzy of servers and staff run about in several different directions. It was just short of chaos. And justified for a Sunday morning. But the watching orders come to the wrong table and in some case watch servers go to the wrong table just to rebound and go to the other side of the restaurant. They wasted a lot of time and effort. Now the good. The food was up to their delightful standard and for us was not a large wait for our order. With time this restaurant will smooth out the wrinkles and be operational at full speed. Just not yet. I will be back to try this location again. Maybe in two months. read more

Don't go on Sunday. We've gone many times as this location is close to us. Every single time we've gone on Sunday, we've had a terrible experience. It's always slow, but we feel that's to be expected on a Sunday. Lately though, the service has just been progressively getting worse. Last time they skipped over us with seating, same size groups, further down in the very obvious, very public waitlist- while sitting in front of the host podium. And then didn't communicate with our server that we were seated, she saw us as she was walking back to the kitchen, not even sure we were in her section! But that one server saved the experience single-handedly. This time, I made certain to have the app ready to go in order to join the waitlist that way thinking it'd be better. Not really- only got a text, no calling the name. And the yelp app is quite glitchy. And dirty seats, that were swiped by the host as we were seated. This visit, we barely saw our waitress and had to flag down other workers to fix things. Only once we were IN THE MIDDLE OF PAYING, finally offered to refill drinks. Had several food issues, including eggs not as ordered AND COLD. The server that brought out the food dropped part, said as much and promised to be back with replacement. Never to be seen again. Our server never even apologized for the problems and just let others fix it. We thought our waitress changed and weren't even sure who was actually our server anymore! We finally saw her again with the new table next to us, and really putting on the charm that apparently we weren't worth. The only reason this isn't a one star is because the food is delicious. Honestly, I'd consider getting food to-go, but after browsing other reviews, it looks like to-go ordering is even worse. We would definitely go more often if the service was better. And I'm sad that we have to take this place out of rotation for recommending, but it's gotten embarrassing. read more

The French Toast Platter was good. This was a typical breakfast. The French toast had a load of butter and was sprinkled with powdered sugar. I had no issues. What impressed me the most was the speed of the order. The food came out rather quickly even though the place was packed. Very impressed. This place is a hit or a miss. Today was a major miss. The floor was dirty, the table that we were seated at wasn't cleaned properly, and even a chair had food smeared on it. I am still bitter about this restaurant. We ordered food to pick up on mother's day this year. And we waited over two hours. Every time we go in. They say 15 minutes. Then we ended up waited for more than 2 hours. Still didn't get all of our food and never gotten a refund for the missing food. I was so heated just decided to not wanting to deal with them. Been here twice since they've opened and it's been excellent both times. First time was during the week, not as busy. Second time was busy Sunday morning. There was zero communication to the large group of folks waiting for carry out orders. They couldn't even be bothered to call out the name on the ticket when they brought up the orders. The poor waitress had to manage four tables, the counter, and 15+ people waiting for late to go orders. Not good, went last Sunday morning for breakfast and they were busy as usual. We have always had great service and experiences there until this last one. Not sure if our ticket was lost or what happened but watched two tables at least that were seated and ordered after us get their food and ours about 45 minutes after ordering and inquiring about estimated wait time. We should have just walked out but tried to be patient. Food arrived, two of the four orders were wrong and the only waitress answer to an omelet being wrong was a heavy sigh and "I'll have to have them remake it" unapologetically. Stopped by this place for lunch. Waitress recommended the pork tenderloin. When it came it consisted of a paper thin encased in breading. It was so salty, I could barely eat half of it even though I was hungry. At over $13 it was not a good value. Then I had to wait almost 20 minutes for the waitress to bring me the check and then I had to ask another employee to find her. She said she was busy cleaning up in the back (not my problem). When I tried to tell how bad the sandwich was, she had no interest and couldn't get away from me fast enough! I will never darken the doors of that place again! read more

Ordered food to go. My mom got the pancake platter and they forgot the pancake. They also forgot the hashbrowns with my meal. We called to tell them and after a lengthy wait on the phone they said they would refund part of the meal....2 weeks later and no refund. Worst experience. I understand they are busy and food takes a little while to get out. However. My food came out completely dried out. The cheese had melted and then crusted and everything was cold. The gravy was cold, the chicken was burnt and there was a random tomato in my food. The waitress took it back and I had to wait another 20 minutes to get it. Then the waitress overcharged me and I had to wait to get it fixed. Rather than the manager stepping away to come talk to me and refund my card he just sent her back out with some cash. Your typical breakfast place. Super fast service!!! Fair prices. Husband ordered a side of potatoes because he wasn't as hungry as me. I ordered a platter. Orders went in at different times and his came out before my order was taken. ???? So much for eating together. I ordered my eggs 'over medium' (only because i like to be SURE they are fresh cracked)...they came out scrambled. I called the restaurant to get on the waitlist and the lady told me to get on Yelp to join the waitlist, so I did. we get there with our three kids and they tell me the waitlist is down, so the wait is 20 minutes. Ok, that's fine. We wait 30 minutes and go to check on the status. The man at the counter doesn't look up from his phone to tell me "honey, i have a long line in front of you". I ask him how long and he says at least another 30 minutes. I ask if we should just leave or theres anything he can do and he says "if you want!" Ridiculous. read more

As always, the food is great...however...this was my first time at the Lenexa location for breakfast...loud music...horrible chairs....sound bouncing off of hard surfaces...and a deep "rumble" from an overhead air conditioner at the back part of the restaurant. Made it hard to have conversation. I won't be back....I'll choose another Big Biscuit location because I LOVE their food...especially the breakfast potatoes.
