tried this place on a sunday afternoon after driving past it and wanted to stop by and try it out. im always down to try new coffee spots and this place is absolutely darling. the offer pastries and such if you're in the mood for a snack along with your beverage. what i really liked about this spot is they offer non-coffee drinks as well. the menu is pretty easy to read and understand especially if its your first time there or i would recommend looking at their menu online as it goes into more detail but the baristas there are also super helpful and sweet to answer any questions! The drinks as a whole are incredibly creamy and smooth so if you like your coffee on the milkier side i definitely think you'll like this spot! if you're someone who is looking for that "coffee taste" this might not be your cup of tea or you might potentially enjoy the 1/4 or 1/8 moon latte. I think the atmosphere is very relaxed and a place people enjoy to work or study especially if you like to have some background noise

Raspberry refresher

Walked in and felt a bit awkward because I had never been in before and didn't know where things were and I ordered online. No one greeted me or said hello as I walked in, which is strange because I go and review a lot of places and I'm usually always greeted. Found where the pick up area was, grabbed my drink, and left. No one said bye to me either. Really cute place, but didn't stay long cause I had things to do. As for the drink? Starbucks who? The raspberry refresher is to DIE for. Definitely would give 5/5 stars if staff worked a little more on greeting customers.

With my last day here in Kansas (Olathe/Lenexa area), I wanted to hit all highly rated coffee shops in Olathe, Overland Park and Shawnee areas. Total of 8 today, already visited 7 others in the earlier part of the week. Unique about this coffee shop is that it's the most crowded I've seen. It has bright and airy feel and large open area for dine in and for folks to be situated to mingle or work. It also offers frozen strawberry and raspberry lemonade drinks. Aside from typical pastries, they offer Rice Krispies, donuts and kolaches! The staff were very friendly and personable, very informative about what is popular on their menu. Because I literally have 4 coffee concoctions to finish, I wanted to get a food item that's not offered in other coffee shops; so I ordered a cheddar and sausage kolache. The kolache is a 3, nothing special but a hotdog and cheddar cheese. But ambiance and service are a 5. Food was a 3 so I'll say a 4 for this coffee shop. Maybe I'll be back next time to try their coffee beverages.

Arguably one of the best coffee shops in the Kansas City metro area! Plenty of options to pick from, there are seasonal drinks and limited time offers which keeps me coming back. Plenty of seating with phenomenal lighting. The coffee comes out quick and hot Vegan friendly! There are vegan sweet treats which I'm always grabbing one when I'm there

What a cute little coffee shop out in Overland Park. Nice open space inside with good lighting, I imagine an excellent place to work or study from. They have a nice menu range. I had to go with the moon milk latte, which is their special sweet cream milk concoction. I like less sweet so I went with the 1/4 moon milk and added a few extra espresso shots (need my caffeine in the morning)! They also have seasonal drinks as well as breakfast and lunch food items. Definitely worth checking out and is another great addition to the coffee scene here in KC! Final review: 5/5 stars

I spent a couple hours in here working on a crochet project and just over those few hours, i found my new favorite coffee shop! I had no idea this place existed because it's kinda sandwiched between a couple other businesses but im so glad i found it! When i got in there I told the barista that this was my first time so she walked me through the menu and explained the moon sweet cream to me. You can basically pick your drink and decide how much cream you want in it (1/4, 1/2, 3/4, etc). I ordered the blue moon latte with 1/2 cream and it was delicious! Not too sweet but also not bitter at all. The lady was extremely friendly and over the next couple hours I heard her interacting with a bunch of people and kept up her friendly vibe the whole time! It was refreshing to see! I also ordered a pesto and egg sandwich which hit the spot too. The vibe inside is chill, beachy, and laid back vibes. I definitely suggest sitting down for a little bit in there while enjoying your drink/food. I also saw that they have a back patio thing looking over the street. I will definitely try to sit back there next time. Overall, i had a great experience and highly recommend going to this place!

When you pull up and see the outside lot full of cars you expect the inside to be busy. I was pleasantly surprised the it was not super crowded inside. The ambiance is a cozy almost cabin feel. The staff is helpful with suggestions since some of the flavors are not traditionally named or flavors. We sat up front near the front doors during a cold winter morning and we were cozy warm with no issues. It was fairly quiet for a coffeeshop up front and we didn't feel like we were apart of anyone else's conversations that were around us. Coffee flavors were a good mix and blend of flavors.

Summer Moon OP is so cute and trendy. The baristas are always helpful and kind. If this is your first time at Summer Moon, they'll help you figure out what amount of moon milk is right for your drink. This time, I purchased their seasonal Autumn Moon, and it was perfection. It was creamy and flavorful--exactly what I was looking for as my morning pick-me-up.

Jolene M.

Have you tried Moon Milk? Honestly I didn't know about Moon Milk before I visited this cute coffee shop. I went because I loved the name. I asked the barista what is a must try. She suggested the Moon Milk. It did not disappoint. Moon Milk is their signature sweet cream - a blend of 7 secret ingredients that complement the rich flavor of oak-roasted coffee. You can get Summer Moon, 3/4, 1/2 or 1/4. I am solid 1/2 moon girl. Such a delightful and tasty drink. Awesome pastry selection. Great working space. Two patios.

This is def on the list of top coffee spots in the city. It lives up to all the hype. I had a quarter moon (oat milk) latte and it was just the perfect sweetness. You can get the moon milk with cow's milk or oat, almond, soy or coconut milks. If you prefer sweeter coffee you can get half or full moon. The vibe inside is cool and great for working or just relaxing. Friendly and knowledgeable staff- which is comforting for 1st timers (me) who couldn't make a decision. In addition to coffee they serve breakfast tacos, protein balls, and pastries. And merch. It's a little spendy, but worth the splurge. This is a great addition to OP.

Genevieve M.

I usually have to come here every time I visit cause their espresso is solid and their 'moon milk' ( sweet cream) is just so darn good. Wish this company was expand into southern Arizona. Service is usually good- on this particular day it was not the best... but that didn't stop my Autumn Moon Latte from tasting delicious! Parking is generally available (and free)... but finding seating during peak hours on the weekend can be tricky.

Iced oat milk, sugar-free vanilla latte and gluten-free blueberry muffin
Christina B.

I stopped in to this coffee shop yesterday. It is an extremely busy place. The male barista that took my order was very nice and patient since I had not been there before. I got an oat milk, sugar-free vanilla latte, and I was very pleased by the richness and deep tone of their coffee. I was somewhat surprised at how good the coffee undertone was. It is a contemporary, well decorated coffee shop that is airy and light infused. They have a variety of seating indoors and tables and chairs, outdoors, and several in the back as well. Surprisingly I was able to find a hightop table with a comfortable modern chair. I enjoyed my latte as well as a gluten-free blueberry muffin that was good. The only negative about this coffee shop and it does not deserve any lower rating because of it, is the busyness of it. I've come in several times to try and rate it and I like to experience a coffee shop by staying. I had to leave several times because there was no seating. Which is a good thing for a coffee shop But maybe be disappointing for people that want to stay and enjoy a coffee. When I was seated at my table, there was quite a few people in the 30 minutes that I was there that actually had to leave after seeing that there was no seating left. I'm sure that they have possibly less busy times, I went around 2:30 PM.

Their prices are in the range of most coffee shops. They have a variety of seating from seating against the wall with a table in front and chairs on the opposite side. They have quite a few high tops with stools, but no backs on them. Then there are a few high tops that do have backs. They also have a large couch, which is what we sat at. They have an outdoor couch by the front door that people can use. I'm not sure if they share the patio seating with Jason's deli next-door. The only suggestion I have is that the floor needs to be swept more often because each time I've been in there's quite a few crumbs. Also, the couch probably needed to be vacuumed and the cushion straightened.

The coffee and the coffee drinks are really outstanding, the vibe (yes, I know everybody says 'vibe' these days) is excellent, and Pilgrim certainly has a solid local brand/following. I have had the pleasure of coming here on one of the Caffeine Crawls in the Kansas City area, and their demonstration and pride in their product did not disappoint. Lots of space to spread out, with even some smaller bistro tables on the sidewalk area, and a good atmosphere for focus. The last couple of times I have been into Pilgrim, the line stretched to the door frame. That is not a bad thing, because clearly Pilgrim is a destination, but it makes for a messy bit of throughput. Call me old & crabby, but hey, my orders are simple and I really just want to get my fabulous coffee and go. Handy intel: the homemade Pop-Tart thingys are worth the flaky mess, so yummy! Parking is super easy, because out here in the 'burbs, we have lots of space. Pricing is very fair, less than three bucks for a cup of great coffee, or go a little over $5 for a wonderful pourover. It's a great spot and has held down their space for quite awhile, and it's easy to see why.

Their other location has colorful seating, artwork, with tables & chairs woven into a forest-like wonderland of plants. This one? A table. A gray backdrop. Sure there are plants, but they're a ways away and it felt more like hanging out in a midwestern garage. The other issue that has me knocking it down some stars is that this has become THE place to get warm. Sure we have our furnaces blasting in January, or a fireplace roaring, but you know that kind of late spring, humid warm? This is usually it, but I have to say I was borderline cold on my last visit. It felt clammy and more "March spring" than "May spring." Coffee is EXCELLENT from Thou Mayest, and it's hard to go wrong. Wifi was not all that strong and ran into a few issues on a video call, but is relatively sufficient for most day-to-day work items if you choose to work from here. If it's equidistant, I would say go to the Shawnee location for sure. If this is the closest one, it's not all bad, but I would love to see some real warmth and color in here to help complete the escape-winter-energy that we all need during this cold, gray stretch.
