We stopped here after run club... The food was okay overall, & the service was also OK. We had a party of four, but were only given 2 cups of water. We had to ask for two more cups to be brought out because she just skipped ahead & was trying to take our food order instead. We also had a child with us and had to ask for a kids menu. Those are basic things I believe a server should know, especially after coming to the table two times to ask if we were ready. After we got our food, she probably came one more time and then we did not see her until the ticket. As far as the food, my Iron Man scramble was watery... And just OK. I probably will not be back to this location.

Took a vacation day and of course, did brunch at HomeGrown in Leawood. Opted for a couple of seasonal items like the Cranberry Mimosa which had a warm spice flavor and then the Meatloaf and Grits. The eggs were perfectly cooked for over medium, the grits were creamy and the meatloaf was a combo of sausage, bacon and beef. SO delicious! Then look at the short stack of classic pancakes we always get for the table and leftovers! They are the best pancakes around! Always amazing! Of course, great service and the patio was also open today!

Rating up front.....it's really good. The wife and I were both happy with it. It wasn't the best thing we have ever had but we were happy enough that we would return. We had the honey bee latte, both hot and cold and it was good. They were pretty sweet, but that's not a surprise. I had the verde pork with eggs on potatoes and the wife had the avocado toast. Both were really good, neither were fantastic. We arrived within 30 minutes of opening and had a 10 min wait to get seated because they were already full on a Sunday morning. The waitress was great, handled us quickly and efficiently. Overall, it's just what were were looking for.

Food - consistently scrumptious as at other locations (4/28/25 their new location @ Antioch and Shawnee Mission Parkway open for a week now. Service - Well trained, easy ordering, attentive w/o being overbearing, quick ordering and delivery to table. Ambiance - Lots of natural light from N and E side of very large windows First time and the brand new location, bigger dining area than others in KC. Pork Verde with 2 eggs (your choice) includes a large portion of green chilies, Pika dg and more. Usually potatoes are on bottom of this skillet like dish, I opted for cheesy grits on the side. More than filling for my stomach, paired with the Honey Bee (espresso, honey, milk (almond, etc on menu) ) and one heckuva delicious flavor combo. Add Tabasco, Cholula, s&p to your liking. MMMMM, tasty!

Brunch with the ladies was fantastic! Great service despite being very busy. The food was brought out quickly and was delicious. Love the local art on the walls. I would highly recommend! Added bonus is that prices are reasonable. I want to go back and try more from the menu!

My husband and I decided to try out this location. We used the Yelp check-in app and we were very pleased with it. When we checked in, there were 14 ahead of us and by the time we got there, it said six. We waited maybe five minutes and got seated in a nice roomy booth. The host was OK, but all of the servers were very nice. Our server was friendly. My husband ordered his typical breakfast and it was good and I tried out there. Chicken avocado sandwich on gluten-free bread. This sandwich was generally good except that the bread was cut wrong and there were various small pieces underneath the sandwich?? Their kettle chips were good, especially while eating with a pickle. We would go back to this location if we're in that area.

Due to KC Restaurant week (and maybe the Facebook ad), the waitlist for Sunday brunch took around 2 hours. Our food came out quickly. Portions were sizeable, staff was friendly and quick to respond. The Benedict was good but lacked enough Hollandaise sauce and the potatoes were slightly underdone. A solid brunch place for sure. Even without the $20 KCRW deal (a drink, a coffee cake or pop'd heart, and any entree) HomeGrown has reasonable prices. I'd certainly recommend this brunch spot over others.

Stopped here based on prior reviews, and was very glad I trusted you all! The food was delicious, and service was great! My son and I split the Biscuits and Gravy, as well as the pumpkin bread French toast (and may have had some coffee cake). All were very good quality and clearly fresh. The coffee itself was very good as well. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, and full of what appears to be woodworking from local craftsmen, so fun with that vibe as well.

They had patio seating which most people chose since it was a nice day. There were several diners inside as well. We chose the indoor seating. We were seated immediately, and our waitress was pleasant. I ordered a make your own breakfast meal. I had eggs, gluten-free blueberry, pancakes, and sausage patties. My husband had the corned beef hash meal. The breakfast came out and a reasonable time. My husband enjoyed his and they pride themselves on having a lot of homemade food. My food was good as well, except the sausage patties were slightly overcooked. The gluten-free pancakes were excellent and I'm so happy that they have them since not a lot of places have that choice. The restaurant is a homey atmosphere and it seemed like they had a lot of regulars. My husband used the restroom and I think that the men's restroom doubles as having some utility items in there like a mop and so forth. But he said there was a cabinet that had Styrofoam cups that were facing forward, which probably should not be in there. That is the only reason I gave it to four. We would definitely come back even though it is a little bit of a drive for us.

Tried the Texas Benny which was really good. The gravy was tasty but the potatoes weren't seasoned or salted. Also tried the Denver scrambler. I ordered with breakfast potatoes but ended up getting hash-browns but besides that it was good. They did fully butter my bread when I would've wanted the option on how much to apply. Also tried their horchata which didn't have as much cinnamon as I'm used too but still super yummy. There weren't many people here on a Sunday at 9 but they seemed to be running around while having one big party. Our order came out pretty quickly, though another employee had to run out with something that was left out. About five minutes into the drive home, the restaurant called again--another item had been forgotten. I turned around and called when I got back. They offered a free drink, which we declined. At that point, the food was already cooling off, and we still had a 10-minute drive ahead, so waiting around for drinks didn't seem worth it. Mom got the Eggibirria Omelette and really liked it. I tried a bite and thought it was good too. A little too "wet" for me, but that's just personal taste. Now, about my order: The Mamba Burrito. It was big, and the spinach cheese dip was actually really good--though some of it leaked into the bag during our trips. My main issue is with the burrito itself. The menu says it's filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, chorizo, pico de gallo, and potatoes, topped with spinach cheese dip. That's not quite how I'd describe it. Honestly, it should say: "A giant flour tortilla filled with potatoes (and a few other things if you dig around enough)." The potatoes weren't just part of the mix--they were the mix. The eggs were barely noticeable, buried in what felt like a mountain of spuds. Bacon showed up in a few random flakes. The sausage and chorizo were there, but the chorizo was not a flavor I enjoyed and I usually love chorizo. And the pico? Maybe a spoonful, tops. To be blunt, I think I could've ordered two full-sized baked potatoes and still ended up with less potato than what was packed into that burrito. It was just too much--overwhelming and totally out of balance. I'm not saying I'd never go back; sometimes a place deserves a second shot. But with so many options out there, this one's not exactly high on my list for a return visit.
