It's rare these days to find good service, good food with generous portions and at a reasonable price, but the Big Fish Tuesday daily special was just that. Five pieces of fish (I had catfish), 5 large shrimp, 2 sides (I went with hush puppies & fried okra) and a drink for $12, you can't beat that! Everything came out hot fresh and seasoned well. AMAZING FOOD!!! You'll walk out saying "I'm going to wake up craving this!". Yeah it's that good. Had shrimp special, half pound of catfish, collard greens, Mac n cheese and potato salad. Everything is fresh cooked and sides weren't processed food they were homemade. Their hot sauce is what I would equate to Cajun yum-yum sauce. I went with a friend for the first time. He loves their food so I was exited to try it! The cashier was really nice and answered all my questions (I had a lot lol) and even though they were pretty busy, the food didn't take long to come out. I ordered cookies and one of the workers said "don't forget to get your cookies before you go" very simple gesture but I appreciated it because I forgot to grab them!! I got the 5 piece fish and shrimp combo with fries. They both were seasoned well but not over seasoned which was great. The restaurant isn't huge but it's enough seats for you and a few people to dine in. I don't suggest bringing in a big party though. read more

Visited The Big Fish for the first time tonight, and it will not be the last! This was the best fried fish I have had in years--and as much as I loved the fried basa, the fried shrimp was the star of the show! Lightly breaded with a hint of spicy--SO delicious. We also tried the fried okra--absolute perfection, and the collard greens which were the best seasoned greens I've had outside of the South. I don't know how I haven't heard about this gem before now, but this spot is worth the stop. Oh! Also--prices were very reasonable for the amount of food. read more

Walked in at 7pm on a Thursday and the employee directly inside the door quickly told my husband and me "We're closed. We closed at 7." Awkward for sure since the sign on the door said "Open", but I looked up the hours to verify and the listed hours say they close at 8:30. Weird. This is the second time I've been to The Big Fish since it opened. I enjoyed my meal and have found it to be a great spot for good fish and sides. Please keep in mind it's fairly new and word is swiftly spreading. It's crowded so be prepared to wait in line to order. The parking lot is large, but fills quickly & there's no street parking. The fish is prepared to-order so you'll have a 15-20 minute wait. The menu has a variety to choose from & the fish is fresh & seasoned flavorfully. The sides are on point and the combos are where it's at! The ambiance is appealing and conducive to a nice fish joint. The staff works diligently to maintain that the dining area is clean which is essential. A couple of things to improve are: Double check each order to ensure its accuracy (twice my order was not complete). Order extra fish for holidays & weekends. This is the busiest time...don't run out! (whiting was gone before 6:00pm) Be personable & greet customers upon entering the restaurant. Staff is stuffy. Visited The Big Fish and enjoyed the dine in experience. There was a line to order and it moved very swiftly. The sista at the register remained pleasant and patient. The food came out promptly and the service was excellent! The atmosphere was inviting and they stayed in demand the entire time we sat and ate and talked and laughed. When we left the parking lot was packed! I enjoyed the catfish, shrimp and hush puppies with a lemonade. The prices were just right too. I did not get to enjoy a dessert this time because I had more than enough to fill my belly. It cost nothing for you to support by liking and following their page. Simply a surprise The food was real authentic, done the right way, not greasy the greens. Let me first acknowledge the waitress whom presented herself displaying professional customer service . She was absolutely proactive in verbalizing the menu choices with complete details. She was friendly, well informed while providing "customer first " service . I regret not having taken pictures of my order which included 4 piece catfish, 13 piece Caribbean jerk chicken wings, and a side of collard greens. Everything was well seasoned and delicious. Husband brought dinner home from here. Fried tilapia - it was ok, nothing special, just regular corn meal breading. Side of coleslaw but something tasted off, so like a fool I took a second bite and realized it was mold. Even my husband, who seems to have no taste buds, said that the coleslaw tasted funny and he only took one bite.
