Consistently good fried chicken Liver & Gizzard, I wouldn't not believe it if I did not taste it. Their chicken wings are below mediocre though. The people at the drive through window are always courteous & the Fried Gizzards & Liver are always fresh. They usually server a roll with their meat but its is mediocre. I still don't know how their chicken wings are mediocre. This is one of my fav fast food spot behind Whataburger when I visit Kansas or Missouri as they have perfected fried Gizzard's & Liver. I have gotten a full order of gizards 5 times in a row each time. There hard as a rock not very warm and tasty like yesterday's. Reheat. Im not going back to this location ever because those five times are spread out over a month. I go to a different location. Never had a problem there. There strawberry soda tast like water, for 3 dollars no thank you. Don't recommend the gizards at this location. Or strawberry soda. read more

This is my go to place for chicken is KCK. Food quality is excellent, no hormone pumped up chicken here. Sides are limited but good. Hot Sauce is staple that I buy bottles to take home with me. Small table inside but it's mostly just for waiting for orders. Drive through is the way to go. read more

They promptly opened at the advertised time, thank you! The gentlemen on the front counter who was nice and genuine. I asked him how the chicken sandwich was, he said it was okay but a pain to make. I asked him how it was to Popeyes, he stated Popeyes was better. I appreciate the honesty But I ordered the 2 PC mixed chicken, it came with mash potatoes and roll. I received my order within a few minutes. I asked for hot sauce, I was told they had "G-sauce", but it would be .50 cent. It was ketchup and jalapeño mixed. As far as the spice level, it was .05 out of 10. Very fast service, but perhaps because they just opened. Now the chicken, it was fresh and hot, again perhaps because it just opened. I would compare it to grocery store/gas station fried chicken. Has a nice crunch, but lacking the seasoning. The mash potatoes has a yellow gravy, which in assuming is chicken/turkey gravy. The roll is soft and buttery on the inside. Overall, I don't know how they are during peak hours, but if you want fast chicken, without having to go to a gas station or grocery store, this would be it. If you like the familiar flavors keep with KFC or Popeyes. Would I come back? Probably not. read more

Hey Everyone, It's so unfortunate I'm having to re-visit and write another review so I'll make it brief. There are 2 stars because there's no half...otherwise it'd be 1 1/2 stars. Simply put, step it up! Lukewarm, mediocre food doesn't cut it for me. I'm speaking of the State Ave location in KCK. It seems the past several times I've stopped through the chicken and gizzards have not been fresh. I always ask for a timeframe that the food has been out of the grease before I purchase it. When I am given an acceptable time and told the chicken is fresh, that is what I expect. I'm highly disappointed. I am a lifetime customer, dating all the way back to the 'Original' location on Brown St in KCK (the Milk House was next door). I've given more than enough chances for them to get it right. Now, I'll have to go back to THE Best location, 7th Street. Enough said. read more

I have had several positive experiences with this location. The chicken is really good, and surprisingly different from KFC and Popeyes. The chicken gravy is really tasty and is peppered. The potatoes are kind of pasty though, and need a little cream, milk, or butter. Their desert selection is great, better than any other fast food place out there! read more

Im blessed to live in the KC area now and this is my closest restaurant. I always get a family meal and my food is always fresh and correct. We don't eat out a lot but when we do, this is one of our favorites for fried chicken. The mashed potatoes and gravy is some of the best in the area for chicken joints. I got the two strips snack with mashed potatoes (because one of the reviews raved about Go Chicken Go using chicken gravy) and then ordered two wings with Mac n cheese based on another review. Sides aren't where it's at. Both sides were not homemade. The review made it seem like this was classic baked .Mac n cheese and homemade mash potatoes but they were both of the boxed variety. You come to Go Chicken Go for the chicken! Chicken wings were good and my strips were good with the Z sauce. As this was my first time, I wrongly assumed that Z sauce was some thick creamy tangy sauce. Nope, it's like cocktail sauce for chicken with some nice spice. I was super skeptical when I opened the container but it was really good! My snack box came with a buttered roll which I absolutely loved. You must get the carrots....let's just say they are spicy and hit the spot whether you pair it with the fired chicken or add it as a condiment to the chicken fillet sandwich. Now on to the sandwich...it is a big piece of chicken breast, fried and good but adding some heat (the carrots) is a must. Had the new Mac & Cheese - was ok but missing something. I'm not sure if we came at a bad time or what but our chicken was a bit dry. Flavor was okay but the inside was dry. The rolls were delicious along with the sides. I've visited this one each time I am in town but I must say the greatness in taste has left. I don't know if it was the heat from the temperature outside or inside but it was not good. The rolls were twice cooked and looking stale by the brown butter that was present (didn't eat) the chicken was too salty and dried up. Good Customer service can make a bad meal not matter so imprivememt is needed at the drive through window. I love KCK, and this is the best fried chicken around! Anyone who's ever been to KC knows this is the spot for chicken, gizzards and more. Get the Wing Pack dinner and thank me later. It's five succulent wings with two sides and two of their melt in your mouth rolls. You can't go wrong with a mixed chicken meal either. Very disappointed as this is my go to for fried chicken. I went through the drive threw and ordered a 3 piece all thighs! Get home and I have 2 thighs and a leg!
