I love the vibes at The Black Cat! In the evening it's moody, cozy, and perfect for a date night or catching up with friends. They have unique craft cocktails and the servers are friendly and knowledgeable on the drinks. They also serve some food and natural wines! I highly recommend making a reservation. I've tried to walk in on a weekend evening and they were booked out. After 9pm it's open seating though so you can just walk in. They also have an outdoor patio. They have events throughout the year and it's a nice addition to the Livermore community! Side note, the bathroom is very cute. Favorite bar bathroom I've been in. The photobooth is a nice touch but it's so close up the camera literally only got our faces zoomed in ($7).

The Black Cat is a great spot to grab late night drinks for a night out in DT Livermore!! When I was looking for bars, they stood out bc their drinks sounded super good and unique. I liked the vibe the restaurant seemed to have too! I definitely recommend making reservations if you plan on visiting, especially over the weekend. I came on a Friday night and the place was packed. They have an outdoor patio which is nice if you have a larger group, and indoor tables if you're looking for a more intimate vibe. I tried the Yuja Sun and the Siamese Sake Sour - both were great! Definitely on the sweeter side if you're into sweet drinks. I'm always a sucker for drinks that have egg whites in them lol so the siamese sake sour was my favorite of the two. The small plates are on the pricier end, and I don't think they're as worth it for the value unfortunately. But, service was friendly and everything we got came out quickly!

loved the Photo Booth! The back patio was fun and spacious, I got the London fog and it was sweet but strong! It was a great time to meet up with friends. Super quick service too. I loved the cat details everywhere, super cute

Update: I was there last night a little after 9 and they do go from seating to opening seating. You order your drinks at the bar and find somewhere to hang out. It does get a little hectic for my liking around that hour so I decided to come another time.

We heard about this place from a friend and decided to try them out for dinner. The ambiance is nice and the staff are friendly. I might personally prefer fewer high-top seats but it isn't a big issue. The menu is small but offers a nice variety of cuisine types. We tried the nuts, peaches, caviar bites, amberjack, japanese sweet potatoes and mantu. Ingredients were high quality and flavors well balanced. The sweet potato was a standout with a great blend of salt, spice and sweet and was prepared perfectly. The cocktails were also inventive and beautifully composed. Overall the food and cocktails are on par with Range Life in my opinion. We are looking forward to coming back!

I can't wait to come back!! The vibe, the drinks, the staff - it was all FANTASTIC! We ordered a Yuja Sun, which tasted just like honey citron tea! You could barely taste the alcohol and was just so refreshing and yummy. We also ordered the Black Cat (I had to), and wow it's strong. It's a black sesame espresso martini essentially and oh MY GOD. I think I'm just too weak for espresso martinis in general, so it's not their fault at all. Because I don't usually drink espressos straight or drink straight liquor or martinis.... So would not recommend for those who prefer sweeter alcoholic drinks. As for the space, it's so warm and intimate. It's so cool how you can just sit anywhere, in the back patio or inside - a perfect date night spot. Even with the Photo Booth, I loved how the pictures came out!

Drinks were unique and incredible. Food was stellar!! Service was excellent. AC was not working when we went so it was a little uncomfortable but did not detract from our experience. The food and drinks were more than enough to earn 5 stars. We will be back for sure!!!

We were waiting to be seated for dinner at a nearby restaurant and decided to grab a cocktail here. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and appropriately attentive. The cocktails were delicious and adequately strong. We will definitely return and see what's on their specialty cocktail menu in the next season.

A hidden gem in downtown Livermore! I didn't realize this place would be so popular; on a Friday night if you're trying to come in for more than just drinks you're probably going to need a reservation. Haven't tried the food yet but the menu looks so appetizing I would definitely come back. In fact, ever since getting back to Livermore 2 weeks ago, I've already been here twice. The cocktails are fantastic and the natural wine flight was excellent as well. There's plenty of seating in the back and a cute little digital photo booth in the main area. Staff is nice and accommodating; they managed to fit my boyfriend and I in between reservations because we said we just wanted drinks. Can't recommend their cocktails enough, honestly one of the nicest drinking establishments in the Tri-Valley.

I recently visited The Black Cat in downtown Livermore with one of my daughters. It's an intimate lounge that serves craft cocktails and small plate appetizers. I had the chaitini, which is a chai martini, and it was delicious. We shared the arancini and they were the best I've ever had. There's a fun old school photo booth in the back corner and a patio out back that is not open during the winter months. With limited seating indoors, reservations are highly recommended. We took a chance without reservations right when they opened at 5PM and we were seated at the bar, which is actually one of my favorite places to sit. My experience has almost always been that I get the best service at the bar and I was not disappointed.

I love that Livermore is adding new restaurants to their acute downtown. We dropped by one evening for some appetizers and a couple of cocktails, and we were not disappointed. The drinks were good, and the food was light and tasty. A martini which was pretty unique made, and went really well with the poke tostada. Our server was adorable Go support the small businesses!

We enjoyed strolling through Downtown Livermore on a Saturday night amidst Christmas buskers entertaining by the tree, the festive holiday decorations and genuinely jolly individuals seeking a place for dinner and drinks. We stumbled upon The Black Cat which was adjacent to the absolutely mobbed Fat Pidgeon Miracle Bar, spilling over with ugly sweatered guests waiting to get in... The Black Cat was an instant welcoming respite, decorated with just enough holiday lights and festive touches amidst its intimate, dark and cozy interior. We were greeted warmly and genuinely by the hostess, opting to wait a few minutes at the bar as she assured us tables were becoming readily available. I didn't catch any names last night but everyone from the hostess, our ugly sweatered server, bar and wait staff, as well as the chef who stopped by our table to describe the Ethiopian spices specially created for the Hummus Toast. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience it was to have knowledgeable and graciously attentive staff. Service was another level. The cocktails were wonderfully handcrafted and refreshing albeit smaller portioned in smaller dainty glasses. The London Fog was very subtle. I was able to try the last available portion of the Marrow Old Fashioned which was very original and unique. The signature Black Cat was a treat without being too sweet. The Natural Wine Flight was something new for us but we enjoyed the local Livermore McGrail Cab Sauv best throughout the evening. The small plates were indeed small but immensely flavorful as freshly prepared in the open kitchen. Our favorite was the Hummus Toast with bread by the nearby bakery infused with the Ethiopian spices house made and enthusiastically described by the chef himself! The Whipped Feta was a festive treat with the pomegranate and thyme nicely complimenting the creamy feta on fresh pita. The A5 Wagyu was beautiful and amazingly delicious but be forewarned that "2 oz" means 4 delicately petite pieces... but, be prepared for a treat! What a wonderful experience at The Black Cat. I recommend sitting at the back by the photo booth in the 2 cozy armchairs near the bustle of the open kitchen and enjoying drinks watching a slice of the evening go by...

Okay, I'll be honest, I booked a reservation here because I got this restaurant confused with The Bourbon Pear. The thing is, I had the best time here! The low intervention wines left me feeling great and I was obsessed with the Albariño. My girlfriend and I split a few apps, they had Wingen sourdough which is my favorite bread, and a selection of yummy butters to choose from. The whipped feta had the fluffiest pita and I have been thinking about it for weeks. WEEKS!

Almost every time I've been to a beer or wine bar or even a cider house they always serve drinks in a chilled glass. This isn't the case with wine of course. A Retirement Celebration to Remember…read more I have been a Concannon Club member for a couple of years, and we visit frequently, often bringing friends and family to enjoy tastings and experience this beautiful property. Concannon has always been a special place for us, which is why I knew it would be the perfect setting to celebrate my retirement. I initially booked the Arbor and had the pleasure of working with Barbara, who was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. I truly appreciated her assistance, responsiveness, and guidance as I planned this very special milestone. As the celebration approached, Heidi contacted me with a thoughtful recommendation that made all the difference. She let me know that the forecast was calling for a very hot 94-degree day and suggested moving the celebration indoors to their newly completed Barrel Room. I am so grateful she did! The Barrel Room was absolutely beautiful and perfectly set up. It was elegant, comfortable, and provided the perfect atmosphere for celebrating with family, friends, and colleagues. It truly exceeded my expectations and created a gorgeous backdrop for an unforgettable afternoon. And the wine was a huge hit with our guests! My family and friends purchased wine to take home after enjoying the celebration, and it was wonderful to see how much they enjoyed Concannon's wines. The bubbles and Pinot Noir were favorites, and so many of our guests absolutely loved the Cabernet Sauvignon. Several left with bottles to continue enjoying and remembering the celebration at home. A very special thank you to Heidi for her exceptional professionalism, communication, attention to detail, and outstanding execution. From the moment she reached out with her recommendation to move the event indoors through the day of the celebration, she was incredibly helpful, attentive, and reassuring. Her suggestion was absolutely the right decision, and she made sure everything was beautifully arranged and went seamlessly. Heidi truly went above and beyond, and I am so grateful for her assistance in making my retirement celebration everything I had hoped it would be. Concannon has already been a special place for us as Club members, and now it holds an even more cherished place in my heart. Thank you to Barbara, Heidi, and the entire Concannon team for helping make my retirement celebration absolutely unforgettable! It was the perfect place to celebrate the end of one chapter and the exciting beginning of a new one. Cheers to retirement, great wine, wonderful friendships, and many more memories at Concannon!

If you've been here, you know the elevator opens into a very small entry space before you even fully enter the bar. Before I had even stepped off the elevator, the security guard was aggressively grabbing my friend's husband to check his ID. For context, we are all in our mid to late 40s and clearly not under 21. My friend's husband had just noticed a friend at the bar and walked over to say hello and give them a quick hug. That's when the security guard grabbed and pulled him in a very aggressive manner. When my husband calmly stepped in and said that the grabbing was unnecessary, the guard escalated the situation further. He became confrontational and even told my husband he could come back at 1:30 when he got off work if he wanted to "handle it." This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. As a Livermore resident, I will not support an establishment that allows their employees, especially security staff,to treat customers this way. Staff should be ensuring safety, not provoking confrontations with patrons.

The place was super lively and honestly pretty packed during my visit on a week night. The lounge itself is on the smaller side, but cozy. I like the concept, there are wire racks on the wall and each table has a little wooden game board on top (mine was Chinese checkers), such a cute touch and makes the place feel a bit more interactive. Their signature cocktail menu has a lot of options, but since it was our first time, we asked the bartender for a recommendation. He suggested "Meet Me In Pearis" since we wanted something vodka-based. The drink took about 10-15 minutes to come out, which felt a bit long, but it looked like he was the only one working, serving two big parties plus a few tables, so I get it. Service overall was still good and he was nice the whole time. For the drink... honestly, it didn't really wow me. Both the flavor and presentation were pretty underwhelming. It kind of tasted like a glass of sangria to me. I guess with "Artisanal" in the name, I was expecting something a little more unique or elevated. The experience begins in a small glass-enclosed entryway where you're greeted before the hostess is notified by radio. Moments later, the glass door opens, revealing a beautifully designed speakeasy with an elegant yet inviting atmosphere. The space offers comfortably spaced bar seating, cozy booths, and tables, all surrounded by tasteful décor that perfectly captures the speakeasy era while incorporating subtle honeycomb-inspired touches. The spirit selection is impressive, and the appetizer menu is thoughtfully curated. Their specialty cocktails are creative, balanced, and beautifully presented. We sat at the bar, where our mixologist, Kalika B, was both personable and professional. I always enjoy sitting at the bar when the bartender is willing to share their craft, and Kalika did exactly that. She explained the story behind several of their custom cocktails, the history of some of their spirits, their signature custom ice program, and offered excellent appetizer recommendations. Her knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable. The entire space was spotless and clearly designed with great attention to detail. It filled up quickly after opening, so I was glad we arrived when we did. Despite the growing crowd, there appeared to be plenty of staff, and the service remained attentive without ever making guests feel rushed. There is only one restroom, but during our visit it was never an issue, and there was no wait. I've been chasing speakeasies for more than 20 years, long before they became as popular as they are today. Whenever I travel, I make it a point to seek out a local speakeasy, so I've experienced quite a few over the years. Honeycomb ranks near the top of my list. It's the perfect size--not too small and not too large--with an outstanding selection of spirits, exceptional craft mocktails, knowledgeable mixologists who truly know their craft, and cocktails tailored to your palate. The atmosphere is elegant yet approachable, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality of the experience. The service was fantastic, and every drink we ordered was thoughtfully crafted. Pro tip: Follow their Instagram before you go! They post their updated schedule and the weekly secret password there since it changes regularly based on bookings. Here's what we tried: Cusco Comb (1000/10): Absolutely one of the best cocktails I've ever had. It was sweet, strong, and incredibly smooth without the alcohol being overpowering. I loved it so much that I immediately ordered a second one. I would honestly come back just for this drink alone. Honeycomb After Dark (9/10): Such a fun twist on an espresso martini! It reminded me of a Vietnamese coffee with a boozy kick. As the ice cream melted, the drink became even creamier and more delicious. Gin & Tonic (6/10): I'm not personally a gin and tonic fan, but my sister really enjoyed it. She thought the ratio of gin to tonic was spot on. Fries (6/10): Super crispy with a great texture, but they were a little too salty for my taste. The only downside is that there's only one bathroom, so keep that in mind if it's busy. If you're looking for a great spot to grab drinks in downtown, I highly recommend this speakeasy. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the cocktails are outstanding, and the service is consistently excellent. I'd probably skip the food next time and eat somewhere else beforehand, then come here to enjoy the amazing drinks.
