This is the perfect spot for flower arrangements. I needed flowers delivered to a person I grew up with who had just lost his father. Just no. I went to the shop weeks ahead of our occasion to order a special arrangement that was roses and orchids heavy. What I picked up today was a seriously ordinary arrangement that was hydrangea heavy and my "orchids" were 2 orchid head blooms in water picks tucked in between the wilting hydrangeas. This was not the special arrangement I had ordered or imagined for our 20th wedding anniversary, such a huge disappointment! I could have (and will in the future), gotten better florals from my florist at Bristol Farms. The shop is not what it used to be (unique, creative, inventive..), and I have been a patron off and on for over 30 years. I will not be any longer. read more

I was sent a huge, beautiful Christmas arrangement for Christmas. With in one and a half days the hydrangea was wilted. I called them and was told to take it out and trim the end and it would be revived. No that didn't happen and within 4 days most of the flowers were wilted. Their window display caught my eye so I asked my husband to pull over so we can stop in to browse. At first, I didn't know that it was a floral shop but it became obvious pretty quickly when we got out of the car. The store was beautifully decorated with christmas trees and various high-end, delicate christmas decor. I didn't want to touch anything for fear of breaking something. The tree in the front window gave me tree envy and luckily they had the supplies tucked underneath to purchase. Unfortunately, they didn't have the ribbon that caught my eye but I at least got the vendor and hope to find another retailer that carries it. A gal working came from the back room let us know that if we needed anything to holler and disappeared into the back again. We appreciated that she didn't hover over us and just let us admire their work and decorations. We left empty handed but I left with a lot of great ideas for making holiday arrangements for our home this year. I wish I lived nearby though - I can tell they produce quality arrangements and having a good florist nearby is always nice to have. read more

so unhappy with this place.....i was first to order a flower delivery this morning and it was a local residence getting the delivery so i assumed it would be there no later than 1 this afternoon, well it's after 5 and nothing!!!i called at 3 and was told it would be there within the hour, like i said it's 5 now...ugh!!! If I could give negative stars I would. Yesterday I spoke with a very nice lady on the phone. I wanted an arrangement of all peonies delivered to my house as soon as possible. I even said I would wait, if I couldn't get fresh peonies the next day. We discussed a low arrangement of just peonies and no other flowers. I paid close to $200. I like my arrangements simple and neat. What I received was a mix of all sorts of flowers of all different flowers. When I called to complain, the person on the phone was so RUDE and UNAPOLOGETIC she practically blamed me for their mistake. Since the kind lady I spoke with was not there, she said the designer relied on her poor notes and created a disaster of flowers. When I asked if she could create the correct arrangement, she said for the amount I paid I would only get 8-10 peonies (for 184 dollars), even with their callous mistake. I asked for a refund, and she demanded that I put the arrangement outside my house "if I live in a safe place". Is she kidding? While I was looking for a reliable and lovely florist for weekly deliveries in South County, rudeness like this should not be tolerated. We have been customers for many years. This valentines day my boy firmed ordered the rose arrangement, he should have stayed with the trifocals arrangement. The roses had fallen over in the truck, not the Black Iris caliber. Sue and Ricky were sending out a new arrangement, but I never received them and can't get in touch . This is the 3rd time in a row that my in laws sent me flowers on a Saturday before Mother's Day and they were already half dead when they arrived. They clearly paid over $100 for the arrangement and it smells like rancid water by the 3rd day. Clearly for they sent an old arrangement that was just sitting around their store. This is one dependable business and they always give superlative products worth recommending, I have no idea what the other reviewers are talking about. I have a feeling they're were from competitors trying to promote wrong advertising for this business. The black Iris customer service is a 10/10! I called in to have a single rose prepared for my girlfriend, and it was made to perfection. A bow, name tag, garnishing, there was even a little water capsule at the bottom to keep it from dying. They were so nice and helpful, and even when I had to change the date on them, meaning they had to prepare a new flower. I ordered a standing spray for a funeral based on the review on YELP. I also spoke to an employee at the store who assured me that their standing spray is absolutely gorgeous and that they always deliver "high end" product. They delivered the arrangement promptly as promised, which is good. However, when I saw the arrangement myself I was rather disappointed. Granted the flowers were of very good quality, and the arrangement artistic, it was overall quite small for the price. Not at all spectacular as I expected. I have spent similar amount on funeral arrangements though different florists before, so I have certain expectation. Perhaps this florist would be better for a different type of event, but I would not recommend for sympathy arrangement. read more

Horrible customer service. I called to see if our flowers were being delivered and what the status was. Their response was "they couldn't contact that driver" and they didn't know where the flower was. When I was making the orders i had to confirm twice because there was an issue the first time. I understand times are rough at this point during Coronavirus but I am also a small business owner and customer service no matter what instance should always be priority. There were no apologies given. The owner called and told us to never order from them again. As an owner, they could have offered an apology, a discount, or some kind of sympathy or understanding, but over the phone, the owner was very argumentative and non budging. Mind you I've been a loyal customer with them for almost 10 years. Mother's Day, Valentines Day, and birthdays. I was never even being offered any other option. It's a shame that they lost us as a customer. Had the owner spoke to me with a different tone, a thorough explanation, the situation would have been different in their favor. read more

I used Black Iris for the flowers for my October 2009 wedding and they were amazing. I was just looking at my wedding pictures and thought I better hurry up and put in a review so everyone knows to use them as well. I had heard about Black Iris but honestly thought that they would be too expensive. I tried many different local florists but found that all of them were very vague about their pricing and that they wanted me to know exactly what I wanted. The only thing that I knew was that I wanted purple orchids. As soon as I walked into the Black Iris I knew they were exactly what I was looking for. I was taken to the back and the designer immediately started grabbing flowers and holding them together to get my feedback. Within about 10 minutes she designed bouquets that were everything I didn't know I wanted complete with the purple orchids I was looking for. And the best part was that they were extremely affordable! I walked out of the Black Iris and was confident in my decision. On the day of the wedding the flowers showed up and were even prettier and more vibrant than I ever would have imagined! My now husband had a single purple orchid boutonniere and it was beautiful. I couldn't have been more happy with my experience at the Black Iris. I am looking forward to using them for my floral needs going forward. read more

The reason I highly recommend this place is because no matter where you need to send flowers, they locate a florist/vendor of equal caliber near your recipient and ensure that s/he receives an exquisite floral arrangement. I have sent flowers to people in West Palm Beach, Fla., and San Francisco. I tell Black Iris the kind of arrangement I'm looking for (and if you don't know, they'll help you decide) and the price I want to spend. Everything's done over the phone, including the inscription on the card. I always get a call full of thanks for (and awe at) a spectacular arrangement. It's high-end and sophisticated floral, and it's worth the price, especially for special occasions. Ask for Rickie; she'll take care of everything.
