So happy to have found a restaurant in the downtown Jackson area open on a Sunday!! We dined on the patio even though it was raining because we had our dog with us. The staff was super friendly and excited to see a pup dining too. They brought ice water for him which we thought was very thoughtful. The manager Melissa dropped by our table to check on us and we ended up having a nice conversation about dogs, puppies and training. Our waiter Dillion was on point. Great guy, friendly and seriously knows what it takes to be in the hospitality business. Food was good and the burger patty we ordered for Shadow was really good too ( yes we tried it ) We will be back on another Sunday to support this great local business. read more

After a long day of driving from Eureka Springs, AR, we were really hungry and ready for a nice sit-down dinner...and found this restaurant open and serving customers. Seemed pretty busy and we were seated right away. Then things kinda' went downhill as the entire experience was underwhelming. Our assigned waitress was working the outside seating area and didn't know we had been seated...so another waiter took our drink orders after sitting there for about 5 minutes. My wife ordered the Forge Burger (with a mac-n-cheese side) and I had the Ribeye Grinder (with the coleslaw side.) Her burger was underdone and was sent back to cook a while longer. My grinder was good, but my slaw was probably the most bizarre coleslaw I've ever had...and I've had some weird ones (oh, and I LOVE coleslaw too.) I just gave it my best show, but after about four bites, I gave up (should have had the fries.) Maybe trying too hard to be original or different...or maybe an old family recipe? My wife finished her burger, and we just really couldn't wait to leave and get back on the road. Something regarding the food was, well, just incomplete or not well thought out, or just missing? And it was expensive...$11.00 for my wife's burger...and over $12.00 for my sandwich, plus drinks. Methinks for what we got, we paid a lot of money. Ordered from my hotel room while driving cross country. Food was late due to driver issues-not the fault of the restaurant. I called the restaurant after the designated delivery time was past to inquire and was told the Grub Hub driver was running late. I was assured my burger and fries would arrive hot and fresh. They arrived and we're fine but about 40 minutes late. The burger was good quality and tasted good. Not over impressed but I was craving a burger and it fit the bill. We were in Jackson running some errands and had seen this restaurant advertised on our local tv station in Savannah. It did not disappoint! We ordered steak salads. The steak was lightly smoked and cooked perfectly (medium to medium rare). My husband had the gumbo as a starter and again, you could taste the smoke but it wasn't over powering and it was DELICIOUS. We drank their coffee milk stout. Holy yums!!! Super good and our bartender, Chris recommended it. Speaking of Chris, great service, really helpful with the menu, friendly, personable, he made our experience extra good. Thank you, Chris! The Shrimp and Grits were very good but don't plan on it being a meal. It was placed in a large bowl but the grits did not touch the sides. If my husband didn't have the appetizer, he would've left hungry. The salad is not much of one but their balsamic vinaigrette is pretty good. Fried Green tomatoes were good but the cheese side was flavorless imo. Gumbo was okay. Never offered a refill on my tea. Placed was packed when we arrived but left confused why it was. Hmmm Presentation was good, some of my fries were over cooked and all of them were over seasoned. Very salty. Molton Burger was well done and dry, bun was cold and stale tasting. The food being served is not worth half of what they are charging. Everything just seemed dry, even the wings tasted like they were fried and then stuffed in a heating cabinet to dry out. They did not seem like they were fresh out of the fryer. And who is watering down the ranch dressing? It has the consistency of soup, it should not be dripping off of what you dip in it. read more

Love this place. My daughter and I ordered food from here while in town before we moved here to Jackson. It was delicious! We've been there 2 more times since moving here a week ago lol. The only thing I would change is the fact that it can get really noisy at times, but it is a bar and grill. I would suggest the forged chips and chips ranch dip for an appetizer. You won't be disappointed. It's amazing! Also I love their Dagwood sandwich which is roasted veggies on a Ciabatta bun. Their burgers and Sammie fries are great as well! I recently came back into Jackson TN for work and stopped in to Blacksmith, one of the reasons was because the food is great! People are friendly. The second reason is because you have an amazing waitress (Lindsey), who has energy, positivity and probably a heart of gold. I will stop by Blacksmith every time I'm close ,employee's like this are hard to find. Keep her, give her opportunities and invest in people with her attitude! I stopped here while traveling through West Tennessee on a sales run and was pleasantly surprised. I started with the Potato soup which was excellent: hot, smooth and creamy with scallions, cheese and bits of bacon. For my entree I had the grilled chicken BLP and was duly rewarded. This joker is a two-fisted chicken sandwich with candied bacon, a thin slice of pineapple, Gouda cheese, and a thin layer of basil pesto paste. What an awesome mix of flavors that go so well together. Hats off to the chef! For my side I ordered the Blacksmith slaw which was insanely good! It's a thinly grated generous mixture of cabbage, carrots, orange vinegar, kale, bacon, golden raisins, with a hint of sweet and sour for a slight Asian flavor. One of the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. And I have dining at Urban Grub, Nabu, Captial Grill and etc. They lost our Birthday Reservation for 20 people that we put in Wednesday and we're told to come back and check on Thursday which we did at 11:30am. They said they didn't see it on the computer but yet it was in the book in Orange. We even Named and described the manager we talked to that said it would be fine. Long story short they didn't want to accommodate people of color.
