They did offer military and teacher discounts the last time I visited which was new to me but offered a little savings which was appreciated. Would highly recommend Kubo. I still prefer Writers Block's open mic night (the first Wednesday of every month). I am shocked that the event is free, with how talented the poets are. I have bought several books from one of the local poets (shout out to Winry Hagerty!!) who sells her work at the poetry event. The last time I went there were stickers from an artist, some leather works, books by poets for sale. The atmosphere at The Vault during Open Mic Night is vibrant and supportive. The audience is engaged and respectful, providing an encouraging environment for the performers to shine. It's worth noting that this event is not only entertaining but also affordable. It's free. I had been in there for literally 3 minutes at that point. And if I wanted to do that shit, my car was right outside. I tried to explain to him that I had just returned back inside from a smoke, but all he did was threaten to kick me out for literally NO FUCKING REASON. I am transgender, and while this used to be one of my favorite spots, I will never be returning. I have been made to feel unsafe and unwelcome at this bar and I regret the fact I spent money on beer just to calm my fucking nerves after the incident. If youre worried about people using the bathroom and taking their time, get more fucking bathrooms, and dont treat out of town talent like shit. Get to my table and a couple are sitting in our seats. My friend tells them those are our seats. The guy gets up and his girlfriend has an attitude and says we're sitting here. My friend tells her these are our seats and here's my bracelet with our seats. So they move back and start to sit on other seats that weren't theirs. I think people don't understand that you can pay to have a seat or you have to stand. So everything else was great. But need to get rid of that Taco man.

The Vault is down the street within walking distance, has live music, is LGBT+ friendly, and is safer... that being said, if you're looking for a dance floor, this is probably your best bet.
