What an amazing staff! We recently rented out The District for a private party. We brought in tables for a seated event, but everything else was provided by Arin and her capable staff. For starters, the food was amazing! Nearly every person in attendance that night commented on how good their food was. Even the salmon, which can be tricky to do well for some restaurants, we perfect. The staff was so kind, so helpful, and so fun. I honestly cannot think of a single thing we would change. Thanks, Arin and staff!

It's the kind of place that feels made for a TikTok moment, with every corner serving up aesthetic and attitude. Cocktails are the real stars here--sweet, bold, and crafted to impress. They've got a slick system too, with some classics like Old Fashioneds pre-batched and chilled, so your drink hits your hand almost instantly (and somehow still tastes on point). Their wine selection is solid if you're feeling a little more refined, while the beer is just okay. All in all, it's less about the beer and more about the vibe--electric, a little mysterious, and definitely a good time.

If someone felt they were treated rudely by a waitress, that doesn't mean everyone that walks in will be treated the same way by that or any member of the staff. Yet here I am writing one of those reviews, because the complete lack of management was appalling. And I had no real interpersonal issue with anybody, so what happened to me could happen to you. We invited a neighbor out to the fun new place in town called THE OVERLAND -- that we'd been dying to try. We tried to get reservations early Friday because it was a Friday night. But their website appeared broken. When you clicked MAKE RESERVATIONS, nothing happened. We even called but got no call backs. We show up at 6PM and get THE BIG SIGH. "Yeah, umm... SIGH... we're having a big party on the patio and our reservations are booked for the night... SIGH." I'm highlighting the SIGHS because the staff isn't supposed to SIGH at us at how hectic their life is. It's OUR place to SIGH at the staff for failing to properly warn us the place was already booked for the night. So they sit us at a long high top where you're kind of sharing your table with 12 other people. Luckily a sweet patron volunteered to move so that we could sit across from our neighbor and create the illusion of an actual table. Soon the attentive staff did show up to take a drink order, but with a SIGH and a grimace our wait person then broke the news that because of the large party out on the patio -- there would be no food for at least an hour. We should have been told that at the door, right? As to not raise a fuss we ordered drinks and they were pretty good. The music was nice. The thing is -- -- restaurants that have an artsy fancy hipster "vibe" twist pride themselves on not being chain restaurants. I celebrate that and I get that. But with this territory often comes this odd feeling that they have no clue how to run a restaurant. "We're trying our best" with a SIGH doesn't cut it after being in business more than a few months. All 'soft openings' must come to end, people. Some Pro Tips -- 1. If your website cannot take any additional reservations, it should indicate as much. To us, it simply appeared broken. You've been open for three years and this isn't fixed YET? 2. At the door, we needed to be told there's a big function and it might be better to come back another night. Or, even more professional -- 3. -- either close the entire restaurant for a 'Private Function' or 4. -- have additional kitchen staff ready to handle both the restaurant AND the large party. Sorry folks, but you made one lousy first impression. I'm at a loss to understand why there should be a second.

We seated ourselves at our favorite raised table in the corner on the far side of the bar. My husband and I stuck to traditional cocktails, and old fashioned and a Negroni. Our friends chose signature cocktails: the Turbo Granny and the Electric Feel. Now the Electric Feel was not just a drink, it was an experience. Our server explained to our friend that he should sip a little of the drink, then chew the Szechuan buzz bud for about 15 seconds, letting it coat his whole tongue, then enjoy the rest of the drink which would taste different afterwards. Our friend went through all those steps and said it was incredible, like all the flavors were enhanced along with different sensations in his mouth, kind of numb and tingly. His wife was not satisfied with his description of the experience, so she bought a Szechuan buzz bud for $2 and she said it was kind of like pop rocks. These buzz bud looks just like a little flower bud like the end of a dandelion once the seeds are blown away. It comes from a plant. Totally fascinating! We enjoyed our one cocktail each here and just had great conversation. It was a fun night because of the company, and also because we had a little adventure going to two amazing places!

We decided on weekend brunch, especially since there were endless mimosas. Our kids have a recollection of being down the class umbrella alleyway, so they were amazed when they saw it. A short while later, we were in front of the restaurant and were quickly seated by the staff. They didn't ask if we preferred outdoor or indoor seating, but we were seated inside right next to the kitchen. We heard that indoor seating was better for service anyway. The interior of the restaurant was "very fancy," and my daughter thought we were in a date spot. We knew we wanted French fries and opted for the garlic Parmesan fries. At first, the kids were weirded out by the arugula, but my daughter ended up enjoying it, noting the bitter and salty notes. My son devoured the entire plate (not the arugula) and asked for another round. We also ordered the lemon ricotta French toast, made from Brioche bread, lemon blackberry butter, whipped lemon ricotta cream, blackberries, mint, and maple syrup. They perfected the crispy exterior, which contrasted well with the fluffy bread. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza--a focaccia pizza topped with marinara, ham, spinach, fresh tomato, red onion, a sunny-side-up egg, and herb-infused maple syrup. This was really delicious with the tart, fresh tomatoes, the salty ham, and the sweet maple syrup. I ended up eating the sunny-side egg by itself, so we didn't get to try the pizza with the egg. Lastly, I ordered the steak and eggs, but it was sadly a small portion. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium. The seasoning was a bit strange and would have been better with simple salt, pepper, and garlic. The mimomas really made my wife happy. She started feeling it pretty quickly. She chose the pineapple juice while I got the traditional orange. Not sure if the alcohol made the food better or the other way around. I was brought to reality when I saw the expensive bill, though.

Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype. Service was the main issue. The bartenders seemed inexperienced, and our server wasn't familiar with the drinks, often needing to check with someone else. It took about 20 minutes to receive our first round. Our reservation was at 10:30, we were seated until 10:40, and the place closes at midnight so timing already felt tight. Because of the wait, we asked to order two drinks at once for the next round, but were told it's limited to one at a time. That would be understandable if service were faster, but it took another 20 minutes to get the second drink. We were also told drinks from the regular menu take longer, so I tried one from the specialty menu...still a 20-minute wait. It was a frustrating experience. That said, the space itself is smaller and more intimate, which could make it a nice date spot. I do think this place has potential, and I'd consider giving it another chance, hopefully with smoother service next time. Oh Beignets were amazing!! Yummy little donuts!

The restaurant is beautifully designed with warm, inviting lighting that makes the entire space feel elevated yet cozy at the same time. Super clean, stylish interior, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay for "just one more thing." Our first visit was spontaneous. We stopped in for a quick birthday lunch and sat at the bar, and after that first bite, we already knew we'd be back. We started with the meatballs, fried mozzarella, and bruschetta, and every single dish was a 10/10. The meatballs were tender and packed with flavor, but the sauce deserves its own moment. Savory, rich, and deeply comforting without being too heavy. The fried mozzarella was lightly crisped to perfection, not overly breaded or greasy, and paired with a marinara sauce that tasted fresh, balanced, and full of flavor. But the bruschetta? That absolutely stole the show. Fresh, vibrant, perfectly seasoned, and layered on crisp bread that held everything together beautifully. Easily one of the best bruschettas we've had. By the second visit, we came hungry and ready for pasta. The warm bread arrived first and immediately set the tone. Soft, flavorful, fresh, and impossible not to keep reaching for. We ordered the Penne Al Gorgonzola and the Penne Vodka al Fungi. If you're a cheese lover, the Penne Al Gorgonzola is your dream dish. Bold, creamy, unapologetically cheese-forward, with pine nuts adding the perfect subtle texture and balance to round everything out. But the Penne Vodka al Fungi? Absolutely unforgettable. That sauce was silky, rich, flavorful, and honestly one of those dishes that makes you pause mid-bite because it's that good. Easily our favorite of the night. We also shared the chopped antipasto salad, which paired perfectly with the bread and pastas. The Italian dressing was light, fresh, and complemented the ingredients without overpowering them. The service both visits was amazing. We sat at the bar each time and were taken care of by attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable staff who made the experience feel welcoming from start to finish. Madri's absolutely delivers on ambiance, service, and authentic Italian comfort food. We're already looking forward to our next visit because there are still so many dishes we want to try.

The sauce was a great balance of tomato and creamy flavors, but a nitpick is that within the ravioli the cheese slightly overpowered the lobster. The staff were quick, friendly, and attentive. The ambiance is quite nice with soft, warm lighting and an interesting and fun mix of textures and colors. The wall of TVs above the bar unfortunately do break the ambiance to some extent, but they're easy to ignore. I have now added Madri to my short list of downtown Redlands go-to restaurants!
