We enjoyed the proximity to the town and the amazing view of the water from the rooftop deck. The kids enjoyed the freedom to wander around town and look in the shops, and enjoyed the game store. We watched the parade that must have had everyone in town participating! We are not from a small town. This was fun for us. The king-sized bed was comfortable, and we had a room with a soaking tub and a giant shower. The pull-out couch was "ok" according to my son. One thing I will say that was missing was a common area indoors for people to meet up and socialize outside of the restaurant. We have traveled often with these families, and we like to find areas to play cards and spend time together. The food at the restaurant was good. We had a poor experience with one of the rooftop bartenders. He looked like he had been there a long time and really had no interest in answering questions or engaging with the town. His younger companion bartender was friendly and welcoming. Advice: In the evening, it cools down tremendously on the rooftop, so you will need blankets even though there are a couple of fireplaces for ambiance.

The hot springs are my favorite part and the main reason I came back. My friends and I booked a private soak ($150 for 1.5 hours), which was well worth it. If you stay overnight, you can also do a group soak for $20. The hot springs are clothing optional, and during the group soak most people were nude. It was a bit crowded, but still fun and a memorable experience -- especially if you're open to something new. The room itself was a little cold, but thankfully it had a wood-fired stove (and one of us actually knew how to use it). Beds were comfy, and the bathrooms are a short walk away since they aren't in the rooms. Overall, such a special place -- I'd definitely come back again.

We couldn't find lodging closer to the North Cascades NP entrance and were pretty bummed we'd be driving an hour each day to get there for hikes that already required us to be up at like 6am... but I'm telling you... it's worth it. This hotel was so clean and comfortable. I felt like we should've been paying more for how big the room was, how well-equipped (full size fridge, awesome when you are roadtripping with a cooler filled with food), a kitchenette, laundry facilities on-site, comfy beds, awesome continental breakfast in the morning, and honestly, just intentional thoughtful touches all around the whole hotel that kept making me comment to my husband, "this is SO nice." I should mention, we didn't interact with staff much because we were at the park all day... but staff who are in charge of getting breakfast out in the morning are hustling! We really appreciated that they had everything out at 7am sharp since there were a few times we were able to grab food before leaving for the NP. Thank you! We hiked 14 miles yesterday and would've been eating granola at the trailhead but got a hot delicious breakfast thanks to you!

Mattress is hard and you always roll towards the middle. Pillows are too thin to tuck between us to keep us from rolling. Lol. We had the most decadent, flavorful, 5-star French dinner and breakfast that was prepared by chef Nicole using fresh herbs straight from their beautiful garden. We were served by Henri, who also paired a perfect wine with our dinner and kept us entertained with great conversation. Val gave us a full tour of their gorgeous brand new stables, and introduced us to all the horses. We didn't have time for a riding lesson on this trip, but now we know to set some time aside and will be scheduling a lesson for next time. We had booked their least expensive room, but on our arrival Henri informed us that we'd been upgraded to our own private cottage at no additional charge. The cottage has an open floor plan, like a studio apartment, and came equipped with a full size fridge and gas stove/oven. The kitchen cabinets were well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, and even essentials like olive oil, so you could easily prepare your own meal (but I definitely recommend Nicole's!). The living room contained a really lovely chess set and a few other games, as well as DirectTV and a stereo. We had our own private hot tub out on the front porch. We really enjoyed sitting outside and looking out at the pond. The whole environment is so serene. The only sounds are crickets and birds. The main thing that really sold it for us was the amazing hospitality - we felt like family. We were only here for one night, but absolutely fell in love with the place and are sure to return. The room came with free breakfast at either Cynthia's or Rocky Bay Cafe, both great spots. Everything was ready for us when we arrived & check out was easy.
