It was SO hot, temperature-wise, that I literally burned my tongue and the roof of my mouth because I couldn't shove it in my mouth fast enough AHAHAHA! I don't usually add peppers to my cheesesteaks, but the veggies complemented the meat well! To start with the consistency of the hamburger meat is way off. Like a meat patty that had been frozen for years. It was overcooked and rubbery. My wife took one bite and she was done. She got a chili burger and I got an Argentinian Sniper (burger with a hotdog on it). The chimichurri sauce on it was bland. Shredded bag lettuce all over it and that weird rubbery meat. Just bad for the premium money your paying. Even the tots tasted of oil in need of a change. There are much much better burgers in the area at the same price, that use fresh ground meat daily. My lukewarm serving of fries was quite small and the amount of cheese on them was lacking even more. If you're going to charge extra for cheese then it's expected that there will be enough to make a customer feel that they actually got what they paid for. Instead I felt like I had just donated money to an unworthy cause. On my second visit I opted to stay clear of the Nathan's side and went for an order of pretzel bites from the Auntie Anne's side. As soon as I walked up I was greeted by a young girl that seemed to hate her job. No problem, I didn't come for her I came for the pretzels. It's not table service so I knew I wouldn't have to deal with her long and I was unbothered. There were a ton of pretzels in the warmer so she was able to give me my order right away. (nice!) I walked away happy however as soon as I picked the first one out of the bag i knew I had to go back. It was as hard as a rock and could barely be squished with my fingers. I have worked in the service industry so I was hesitant about bringing them back, but at the same time what in the world was I going to do with a bag of rock pretzels? Before I could even finish telling the girl why I was back she cuts me off by saying " you're going to have to wait a while if you want me to make new ones." So I just look at her and say that was fine but in my head I'm thinking "girl you knew they were hard before I told you and you still sold them? " Careless. The new order came up, I took them and left. Somehow she still managed to make this order hard, not nearly as hard as the first but still not how they would be at any other Auntie Anne's or pretzel store. I would have been better off buying bagged snacks right out of the aisle. The idea of snacking while shopping is great and I'm definitely a fan, but this place hasn't quite mastered their craft yet. Excited is an understatement as I thought about the delicious cheese fries I haven't had since I've relocated from NY. One con off the bat is that they don't have red onions! Now, if you've never been to Nathan's or had a NY hot dog, you won't know why that's a big deal but because I had the expectation, it was a huge disappointment that their condiment bar only had dry yellow onions and no red onions. Not sure how they're made but it's like sautéed onions stewed with tomato or something that make the onions I'm talking about. Ok.. so next the cheese fries were pretty good. About as good as I expected. Moving on ... this place shares space and management with auntie Anne's pretzels. I did get some pretzels from there but I don't want to really add that experience in this review because it's separate even-though they're together. This location is in Walmart so that's also important for someone to know if you're looking for it because there's no sign outside. I will say that the staff is not what I'm used to at a Nathan's. The cashier lady was pretty rude. I wanted my fries so I overlooked that. So if customer service is high on your list- you may want to skip coming here.
