    Sean Ashe opened. So good!

Headed to the Boardwalk for the Pat Travers Band on Wednesday 1/28. We saw Michael Shanker here years ago. I gotta say. I love this place. What a great small venue. 3 bands, all sounded great. Easy parking across the street. Beers not over priced. But the staff. That's the best part! Everyone was so friendly and professional. You can tell they've their jobs. From the door guy, to the gal that checked us in. To all the bartenders, sorry I can't remember all your names, but 1 individual in particular, Ben, was so nice. He was servicing tables and did a wonderful job. Your business is only as good as the people you have working there, and this business is doing something right!! Thanks to everyone. We'll be back!!

    Only OJ "mimosa"

Sunday Music Bingo A++++ Service C Food B Bottomless mimosas F Love the bingo, had such a fun time. We arrived early as instructed to get a table together at 10AM, no one came to our table for almost an hour. I understand the event doesn't start until 11, but we're sitting willing to spend money in the meantime ... they had one server for the whole place for some reason despite many other employees loitering around. The server insisted we order our food immediately since we were doing bottomless mimosas, so we complied. And then we closed out as requested as well, never seeing that server again (we were there 10-2) The mimosas left much to be desired, theyre mixed behind the counter in a large carafe and the prosecco/OJ ratio was very inconsistent. You receive a tiny plastic champagne flute that probably holds 5 Oz. We went stretches of 20 min without refills when they stated more was being made. We received glasses of only OJ TWICE. When they do refill your glass they touch the rim of your flute to the carafe essentially contaminating your glass with everyone else's in the place. I know this is a new event, and the place was packed... but more of a reason to recalibrate and really consider how to do it right. Carafes should be left on the table, ratios consistent, more servers per section perhaps.

Paid $70 dollars to get in and paid additional $20 for 8 wings. So disappointing................ Would not recommend this place

I paid $70 to get in and an additional $20 for eight tiny wings. I don't mind paying for great food, but this entree was disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant if you want a satisfying meal. Yes Sara, I paid $20, including a tip, for a small eight-wing entree.

At a special show and literally sat at the bar half an hour where people who came after me were helped first. I will not be back.

Packed crowd, way in the back and can't hear a thing. Here to see some stand up comics. It's tough to enjoy the show when you can't hear it.

Ask the Community - The Boardwalk

I saw this on a list of places in the Sacramento area that host Open Mic nights. Do they still do that? What night? Are walk-ins welcome, or do we have to pre-register? Is a solo acoustic act welcome? Is it done year-round?

Hi Rick, thanks for reaching out. We do not currently offer open-mic nights at our establishment.

When one leaves Indiana for California, you take advantage of the weather when the opportunity arises. And it was a beautiful day, so the search for outdoor dining led us to Tonno's Sports Bar and Grill. We aren't big drinkers, but everyone knows that sports bars have great food, and several reviews raved about their burgers. We arrived a bit after noon on a Saturday, and there were several people inside doing a specialty 'breakfast shot' which was whiskey and bacon or some such. If that's your thing, this seems to be the place to be. We selected a table outside in a nice area with both sun and shade. There were kids in this area too, so it's obviously not 21+ like most places in Indiana. They were a big crazy (young, running, loud) but not enough to bother us or others around us. The parents were probably doing the breakfast shots LOL. I ordered the cheeseburger with added bacon plus tater tots. The tots were oversized and delish. Think of the taste of a McDonald's hash brown but in bite size form. The burger was great too, believe it was a full half pound burger. Wife ordered the BLT and loved it. Her fries were good, but nothing special. Ordering takes place at the bar, and they give you a number for your table. Service was quick and I went inside for three refills on my soft drink. They didn't give me a dirty look, so it must not bother them. We stayed for nearly 3 hours just enjoying the weather, eating our food, and reading books while we waited for afternoon activities that were scheduled for our team. A good experience, would return if in the area.

We walk in an we are immediately amazing at how beautiful the inside of the building is and to know this building is historic and well maintained is pure perfection. We were greeted my a male bartender who got us waters and then we were ultimately served by the female bartender who helped us. We wanted her to make us custom bring and we asked her to surprise us. The only question she asked is what our preferred alcohol of choice was. I went with Tequila and my friend Gin. I have no clue what she made either on of us, but baby when I tell you my cocktail was fantastic! This bartender didn't come to play, she is the absolute truth. My drink had a little kick to it which was good with a smoky taste with a hint of fruit flavor. It's like nothing I had before, but I would ask for it again. I'm glad I took a photo lol. The service was great both bartenders were so cool, welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend checking them out!

My friend had a tequila drink and she liked hers as well. The decor is aesthetically pleasing- it's like being in a cabin and I like the back lighting as well, everything comes together to make for a cozy setting. They offer food too so I'd like to return to try out some apps in addition to some signature drinks next time. The other bartender who served us was great as well; congrats to him for being recently promoted to bartender! I'm looking forward to taking more friends here and exploring more drinks. Thanks!

Who doesn't love the idea of a speakeasy?? We decided to head to Roseville in pursuit of a secret place. We found the secret door, knocked, and a young man answered. He asked for the password. Unfortunately I am not on social media and that's where you're supposed to find it. Bummer! I decided to use my own password. It worked and we entered the inner sanctum. It was a cool, smallish place with nice decor. The bar was the first thing we saw. I looked around to see a few tables and couches to the left. It was pretty early and there were only a few people there so we got a cozy little table in front of a velvety couch. I went to the bar where a burly tattooed OG bartender greeted me. I ordered an old fashioned and a raspberry lemon drop. My old fashioned was done very well. I'm on an old fashioned kick right now and love to try them at different places that look like they know how to make them. This one was really good. My friend wasn't so keen on her lemon drop, saying the lavender was a bit overpowering. We had another round and this time she had something different that she enjoyed. My second old fashioned was just as good as the first. It was getting later and more people happened to have the password and it was getting crowded. We were done, paid the tab, which wasn't bad considering how most speakeasy's can be pretty pricy. Overall, it was a great experience, the place was nice, friendly, and the drinks were done well. Give it a shot. Find the password, or use your own if you dare!

Tucked behind an unassuming alley in Old Roseville sits a green door marked only with the number…read more323. No signs. No bell. No sliding peek window. No sound leaking through the walls. You'd be forgiven for thinking you were in the wrong place or about to make a mistake and put yourself into a sketchy place. We looked around for a more "realistic" entry way not knowing the most realistic entry way is one that looks like a back door to a closed vacuum or furniture storefront. That's exactly the point. You knock. Immediately, the door opens. A man in a cowboy hat looks you over. He doesn't wear a name tag. He doesn't need one. He asks, "You have something to say?" If you've done your homework, and say the right thing, the door stays open. You're in. I do not know what happens if you do not have the word. What follows is less a bar and more a pocket of time. The interior is small but well conceived. The bar sits directly at the entrance, flanked by a few standing guests and several small tables. Beyond that, the space opens up into a lounge with seating for six to eight, and a longer bench-style area for a dozen or so. The walls are dark, the lighting low. It's the kind of place that feels like it remembers what Prohibition was, even if most of us never lived it. It felt like walking onto a movie set where we might be extras, and the main characters would enter and play out a scene. It was a perfect example of a speak easy in full swing. Even the glassware was legitimate. The decor is intentional. Books tucked into corners. Stags mounted on the wall. Nothing feels store-bought or trendy. It's immersive without trying too hard. The seats were not overstuffed contemporary types nor were the tables or even foot stools. They all looked like they came from a speak easy back in the day. About the only thing that did not look like the real thing were the patrons, as they were dressed casually, and of course the iPhones. I suppose that would have caused quite a ruckus during prohibition! Conversations are constant, layered over each other and laughter. It gets loud, but not obnoxious. There's a rhythm to the space that holds. My suggestion is to not go at 7pm on a Saturday and hope to get a prized table, couch or seat. Now, to the drinks. House Divided serves anything you ask for, but they lean into the theme. Classic cocktails done right. Throwbacks with historical lean. Creative new entries like lavender martinis that aren't just gimmicks. Each drink feels made by someone who knows what they're doing and takes pride in the process. This is not vodka-soda speed bar territory. It's craft, and it shows. I did not see a bottle of ocean spray anywhere, but what I did see were large glass bottles labeled with the juice or concoction held within. The little details are obvious! If I were to translate my usual framework:    *   Ambiance and Service: 4 stars (it can get loud and if you are here to have a conversation it will be difficult)    *   Quality: 5 stars- I had a simple drink - vodka and cranberry. With something "special" that the tender added. I don't know what it was, but the taste was wonderful! Way different than my standard go to!    *   Value? That depends on whether you're measuring price per ounce, or the fact that you just got to walk through a green door into another world. But in reality, 5 stars. Do I wish for more seating? Yes. Perhaps more quiet? Yes. But if it were those things, would it be the same? No. My guess is going on a Saturday at 7pm is going to be a bit crowded, and loud. That's my fault, and testament to their quality. Next, I found the staff to be great! Even the doorman gave it character, cowboy hat and boots and all! Great experience!
