3.5 stars. This app needs halvsies. Came here on a Tuesday, off season, and it was definitely showing. The food was pretty good. View was nice. The service was sparse. Poor bartender was over worked and it seemed like the other people who worked there could give a flying frisbee. I was starving, SQUID!! so we had to get food. Had the ol' standard burger, split with the wife. Fries were crisp and burger was good quality. I guess the turn off was the aura. It seemed like we had some Mr. and Mrs. Howell types in there, and maybe they didn't like my work jacket and hat?? Got some looks from the ol' bluebloods, and all the while they are wearing their own goofy ahh Panama Jack hats. Loosen your undies, Mortimer and Betty, it's Minoqua, not downtown Chicago. I cannot dog the food, or the overworked bartender. He tried. I do not fit in this place. It is a little too snooty for me. Go there, if you feel like you are somebody, that I am obviously not. LOL.

The vibe was so awesome/ the server was very friendly and helpful when we ordered. We had a large group and ordering and paying went smoothly. The food and drinks were amazing and I will be back when I'm in town!

    Nice looking back-bar.

My college buddy and I stopped in for a drink after touring and shopping. It's been years since I last stopped in (and I believe ownership has changed since then). While I was closing up my dad's old house I would frequently come for lunch or dinner -- but I never sat down for a drink at the bar, and I wasn't Yelping back then -- so this is a first review for me even though it's not my first visit. The back bar is beautiful. I don't know if it's original or something resurrected from another long gone establishment, but I like it a lot. And after scanning the bottles it's apparent that they have just about everything and therefore should be able to make whatever drink a customer might want. My friend spotted a top shelf bourbon he was interested in and asked for a pour, neat. The pour was ample and the price was fair. He enjoyed it. I perused their "signature drinks" menu and selected one that appealed to me. Unfortunately the bartender didn't know how to make it and had to consult a recipe. Once mixed and served, the drink was fine and I enjoyed it. But, in my opinion, if an establishment is offering signature drinks or dishes, the bartenders and chefs, even if recently hired, need to know the recipes by heart (or at the least, not let the customers know that they are checking out the recipe). Professionalism is important for me, no matter what the business may be.

We've been here a couple times recently for lunch and dinner. The service is always good. The atmosphere is casual and overlooks the lake. Most of the food we've tried was ok such as the ribs, burger, etc. The parking lot isn't huge however you can easily find street parking nearby.

Good food. Good service. Beautiful view (right on the lake). I'm hoping to visit here for dinner.

Stopped in for lunch for our first time in the area. Got there before the rush, thankfully :-) really enjoyed the view and the food.

My good gracious! So glad we stumbled across this gem on our way to Washburn. We were traveling from Milwaukee to Washburn (for a vacation near the Apostle Islands) and needed a break from driving and some lunch. We happened to stop for gas right across the street from The Boathouse and after a search on Yelp, decided it would be an aok spot to stop for lunch. We were greeted and seated immediately. Their dining room is lined with large windows overlooking the lake and so we were able to watch some water skiers doing jumps off the ramp in the lake while we dined. So cool! I ordered the lure salad with salmon added and it was a moan-worthy delight. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the salad was perfectly dressed (not too much not too little) and every bite was flavorful and fresh! The service was incredibly friendly and they have a gorgeous bar. If we'd had more time in the area, I would have definitely been back for cocktails. Get to it!

Beautiful and prime location in Minocqua! We came here for a late lunch after a full morning on the water. Surprised to see many tasty options on the menu as well as good kids meals. We ordered seafood of course! My tuna wrap was very fresh and delicious, wish there was no sauce in the wrap. The shrimp tacos were on point. Service was friendly and fast especially during peak lunch hour. Definitely recommend this restaurant for lunch for families with s children!

The boathouse dining overlooks lake Minocqua so the view is 5 ! The classic bar was actually originally from Chicago bar and transported to the boathouse, which is worth a visit to see and have a drink. They have a wide variety of taps including spotted cow. The food was good overall, but unfortunately they could do much better managing tables. We had reserved for a large group of 10 and they had given away our table to another group despite us arriving on time. We had to wait over 40 minutes to be seated. Frustrating

Nice restaurant with an amazing location and view of lake. Great menu includes everything from appetizers, sandwiches and full dinners. Large open bar in dinner area, stocked with many wines and high end spirits along with specialty tap beers. Might make for a of loud dinning atmosphere on busy nights. No problem tonight however. The bartender told me that they don't take reservations which might make for a bit if a wait in the touristy seasons. She recommended that "eating early" dinning would be best in summer, otherwise there could be a wait, depending on the day. I heard the waitress tell the table behind me that the ribs were "fall off the bone" good.... So that's what ordered! The ribs were good, but definitely not "fall off the bone". Needed to cut each bone off the rack, and then work a bit to get the meat. Nothing wrong with the taste however. I really liked the fresh loaf of bread that came with my dinner. Very fresh, and served warm. Prices were in line with other comparable restaurants, which is nice in a touristy area like Minocqua where you might expect inflated prices. Will be back.

Our waiter was very considerate of my wife's gluten and dairy allergies. I had the Canadian Walleye and it was very good. Also had a Bourbon Old Fashioned Press with mushrooms and it was excellent. Would go again, especially when St. Germain is all closed down

The great views don't really save this place, unfortunately. I will say that it was obvious that they were understaffed when we were there, so I'm not singing them for that. The bartender and servers and host were all kicking butt. The food however was pretty mediocre. Definitely skip the Bistro Filet. It is a touuuugh cut of meat. The baked potato was a bit underdone. The cheese curds were nothing exemplary. The lobster tail, which was $40, came out cold with no drawn butter, so it had to be sent back. I bet their lunch is better.

We came at noon on a Friday and the place was packed. We sat at the bar and ordered some drinks before lunch. I had a pineapple and jalapeño vodka cocktail which was very good. Ordered a chicken Cesar salad which normally doesn't have eggs but had hard boiled eggs. So good !!!!!! My husband had a black and blue burger which he said was to die for. We ate inside but you can sit outside too. Service was fast after we ordered. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area !!

We were warmly welcomed by the hostess and we were immediately seated. We were out kim an addition which had ample windows facing out to the lighted trees. Our waitress was very attentive and we were started with a relish tray. It was skimpy compared to what you use to get at supper clubs but appreciated as a comp. We received our meals with a comp loaf of bread. I'm GF so passed on the bread. My husband said it was average and appreciated. He had the prim rib and I had a tenderloin steak with mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes which the first couple of bites in the end was chewy but as I moved to the next bites it was very tender. I enjoyed the Hungarian mushroom soup and my husband enjoyed his clam chowder. We were too full for dessert and I took 1/2 of my meal home to enjoy for lunch the next day. We didn't try any cocktails. We would go back to try more menu items, maybe something light so a dessert could be enjoyed.

We made a reservation for three on 7/8/26 at 6:30 p.m. We arrived around 6:20 p.m. and waited by the "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign, but no one acknowledged us. After standing there for about five minutes, someone finally came over, checked us in, and told us they were just getting our table ready. Unfortunately, that took another 30 minutes. We weren't seated until around 7:00 p.m. We're used to waiting and completely understand that the busy summer season can be overwhelming for small businesses. That said, having a reservation made the wait a bit more frustrating since we expected our table to be ready closer to our reservation time. To make matters worse, a party of about 15 that had been drinking at the bar was seated in the same dining room shortly after we were. They filled nearly the entire space, their kids were running around, and the only air conditioning unit in the restaurant was turned off by them when they sat down. The room quickly became incredibly hot, loud, and uncomfortable. It honestly got to the point where I felt like I might pass out. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, and I have nothing but positive things to say about her service. The food was a mixed experience. The standout items were the complimentary bread with the olive spread, which was delicious, and the mussels appetizer. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous portion, and the broth was so flavorful it was almost drinkable. It really just needed a few slices of crostini or grilled bread to soak up every last bit. The entrées, however, were just average. I know better than to order carbonara in the Northwoods, but I decided to give it a chance anyway, hoping I'd finally be proven wrong. Unfortunately, I wasn't. This wasn't really a carbonara. It was much closer to an Alfredo sauce, lacked the rich flavor you'd expect, and included ingredients like spinach that aren't part of a traditional carbonara. The fish served on top, however, was cooked well and nicely seasoned. Overall, Anthony's was a one-and-done experience for us. While it may be a solid option for the area, the combination of the delayed seating, uncomfortable dining environment, and underwhelming entrées left us with little desire to return.

Traditional dinners as well like Carbe Asada, Bistec ala Mexicana, Huevos Rancheros, and Chilequelles. The restaurant itself is very nice inside and clean, with a beautiful bar area. When you walk in you can see directly into the kitchen and how clean the floors and equipment is. We stopped on a Friday around 3pm, not an ideal time but we had been traveling for half the day and needed to eat. Big points for having a selection of hot sauces at every table, including Tapatio or my favorite El Yucatec Habanero; roja AND verde. Our server was Uriel (great name), who seemed to be the only server on duty, which I understand considering the time and day but he had several tables aside from the 3 of us and spread throughout the place so he was in and out of the dining room constantly. My wife ordered the chile rellenos enchiladas with salsa roja, and my daughter chicken quesadillas. I ordered the bistec Mexicana, with corn tortillas. The meal came with chips and salsa. The salsa had good flavor, timid on the cilantro though, and the chips were good but didn't taste made in house, in my opinion. Our meal arrived soon after ordering, and it was good! The bistec was made with canned or pickled jalapenos, and not fresh, so they lost major points for that. The meat was good, but the jalapenos brought a salt and brine flavor instead of the Smokey fresh and vibrant pop that fresh jalapeños provide. The rice and beans that accompany the meals are well prepared with good flavor. The beans were well executed and almost velvety, and the rice had flavor and consistency. In all, a good meal at a great price point. Would definitely eat here again.
