The katsu dog was actually pretty good (maybe just a little bit more sauce) but it was nice and crispy and that cheese pull was *chef's kiss* I tried the ube and matcha swirl soft serve and it was delicious. The matcha had a hint of bitterness BUT I loved that! Perfectly balanced flavor of the sweetness from the ube and slight bitterness of the matcha. It's not an unpleasant bitter taste just a good strong tea taste. I have yet to come back and try their drinks! Parking was not really a problem, there was plenty but I could see why it could easily get packed and busy due to the other stores in the area. Located in a nice and relaxing plaza. There are free parkings upfront, but can get busy from time to time. You can choose either signature drinks or build your owns. The drinks are good. Saw this place passing by and was intrigued by their name. After learning that they are a milk tea shop we decided to come back and try it. 5/5 for their soft serve ice cream. We got the ube Thai tea swirl with the optional free Oreo crumble and it was excellent. The Thai tea had a lot of flavor. The combo worked nicely together but you can also choose one or the other alone. The milk tea smoothie (basically a milk tea frappe/blended ice) was good. It might not have been freshly brewed tea but it was one of the only places that I've seen offering a milk tea slushy. There are 2 kiosks inside for ordering. The staff are wonderful, and the drinks are fun. But the Thai food- really expensive, even gorgeous Thai food. Generally, my experience for Thai food locally, the " volume" of food for the cost is significantly better, ie; it goes farther for a family treat. I have checked most of the Thai restaurants locally and they seem ( without checking gram for gram) appear to be pretty similar. If you are buying for one person, it is not a big deal. But for a family of 4- more so. No Thai restaurant is inexpensive, but Thai food can be AMAZING. So- worth it. I finally tried the new boba place in SLO! It has a great location with ample parking close to downtown SLO. They had a unique self serving station where you can order for yourself. Great for people who are introverted! I ordered a mango milk tea slushy. It was pretty good. While the drink was okay, the service was very slow for being the only person in there. I was also very confused by the menu. While I liked the self serve device, it was hard to navigate and confusing for a first time user. Am interesting boba stop in SLO. While the prices are rather steep, the flexibility you get in designing your own drink is unique. You can select from hot, iced, or blended and then add a variety of flavors to your drink. You order on a large touchscreen that clearly lists all your options and shows photos for a lot of the signature drinks and snacks. I tried a Taro Blended with boba and it was $7. The drink itself had good flavor, but it was more icy than anticipated. It was similar to shaved ice in that I almost pulled the liquid out of the ice. Um wtf...just because I ordered a drink with no ice does not mean you can put my drink in a SMALLER cup. That's just a basic standard of any drink store. At least be subtle about it and counter a little empty space with some foam but don't just downgrade me. I'm paying the same price as someone with ice. I feel catfished by the beautiful pictures of rolled ice cream I saw on Yelp. Thinking we were going to get this unique form of ice cream, I was sorely disappointed that Milk in It does not actually have rolled ice cream. The surfaces used to make the ice cream have equipment sitting on top. They instead have soft serve (only 2 flavors- milk or Thai tea). They also have waffles, cones, floats, and of course boba drinks. We ordered sundaes with milk flavor soft serve. There are several toppings available- flavored syrups, boba, mochi, sprinkles, jellies, fruit, and oreo crumbles. For mine, I ordered pineapple flavor and grass jelly. DD got passion fruit flavor, boba, mochi, and chocolate syrup. The pros: some interesting toppings available, the gal begging the counter did a nice job of crafting the sundaes. The giant iPad ordering system is pretty cool and efficient. The cons: sundaes are huge (there are no size choices, and I think the cup is 14-16oz). Fruit is canned fruit (at least the pineapple was canned pineapple). There was so much ice cream in the cup that there wasn't much space for toppings. At 60cents extra for a topping, that was a letdown also. The ice cream isn't that good. It's icy and not really creamy. The milk flavor is so ambiguous that it just tastes "sweet" -- not vanilla or anything close to that. So, on the hunt for ice cream, we were disappointed by Milk in It. I recommend the rolled ice cream photos be removed from Yelp. read more

So far, I think this is one of the better boba places in SLO. I don't usually like a lot of fancy toppings, so I got a Oolong Milk Tea with Pudding, and that cost $4.59. The Oolong tea had a strong tea flavor and didn't taste watered down at all, though I feel like there could have been more pudding added (especially since it was an additional 60 cents). The main downside with this place is that if you're someone who really likes adding a lot of fancy toppings, the price can put you well over $5. They charge 50 cents for flavor, and an additional 60 cents for toppings. However, you do get a large drink which is nice. The boba pearls' texture is inconsistent. One day I came in and the center was hard, and another day I came in and found that the texture was fine. I was having a late night sweet tooth so I walked over to Milk In It. This is actually my fourth time coming here but my first time ordering a drink because every other time I've been her they've been out of what I came to get. First time, boba was out until 3pm. The second and third time, they were out of whatever milk tea or signature drink I was hoping to get. The fourth time, I noticed that one of their popular drinks was their Vietnamese iced coffee with sea salt cream. I was about to order it and of course I find out they are out of the sea salt cream. For my first try, I decided I should go with a classic milk tea with pudding. When I was using their digital ordering system, there is a page that asks for what type of flavor I want. I just wanted a classic milk tea which I figured didn't have a flavor but just to be sure I asked and the person working said to pick whatever flavor I'd like....but I wanted classic so I had to triple check to make sure that a flavor isn't actually needed for the drink I was ordering. Definitely get less sugar and less ice or you will be getting a cup of iced sugar. ALSO - don't get the pudding unless you want a smidge of it. I only had a bite or two of pudding at the end of my drink. Also, I understand that having the digital ordering system is supposed to make things go quicker and allow for the customer to craft their own drink without having to answer a ton of questions. It wasn't crowded at all (45 min until closing), and we were taking a bit more time trying to understand what was available. The whole 7-8 minutes we were looking at the screen, we never got asked once if we needed any help or if we had any questions. I'm glad I tried it but probably don't need to come back! read more

You know I have to try new boba places when they open up. I was SO excited but left SO disappointed. So much potential... I'm not sure if it's because they're still new and getting things together or... So I walked in and it wasn't busy. The guy at the counter was really nice. The menu wasn't up on the wall but there were laminated menus taped to the counter wall and at the counter. It was so confusing to me. I just wanted a matcha/green tea with boba. I typically like blended drinks. They had had option but they had like three types; milk, milk tea, blended. I have no idea. There were so many options, I was a little overwhelmed. I prefer a simpler menu like Boba Stop has. They just had a lot going on. Boba, rolled ice cream, popcorn chicken? The place was spacious, the wall painting was nice. Great atmosphere. You pick up your drinks at the same counter you order from and there's typically a line, so you have to make your way through the crowd to grab your drinks. Not a fan of that. My blended matcha was just plain matcha flavored, which I don't mind. But there was 0 sweetness which I was expecting. The boba, which they called "honey boba" was not honey boba. I don't think my drink was worth it. If you want to customize your drink, I guess this is the place for you. But if you just want a flavored drink, maybe go to Boba Stop. As far as quality of the boba, Milk It In is still quality, however the prices have shot up. I paid $6 for a medium basic milk tea with boba, with not a lot of boba. However, given the options in the area, the boba is chewy and not overly sweet and the tea is actually pretty potent. You can mobile order or order through a kiosk! Since it is so close to Cal Poly campus, I went during a Saturday afternoon and had to wait about 20 minutes for my drink. Not bad but it was pretty busy. read more

This place is a standard boba place. They have some fun drinks like the galaxy lemon tea. Lots of different toppings, though I'd recommend the boba if anything. The Thai tea is really good! It's annoying to pay extra for soy milk in milk teas but many different ways to make it vegan. They also have rolled ice cream that looks pretty good. The service is kind of slow and the prices are above average for what I'm used to paying for boba. When I say slow I mean waiting 7 minutes when you're the only customer kind of slow. Honestly I really only went when they had Thai tea Thursday's because it was a discount on the best drink they have! Can get kind of claustrophobic when it's crowded. Their rewards program is super lame because you have to spend over $5 to get a stamp (need like 10 stamps for a free drink) but basic drinks don't go over $5 normally so it's hard to collect the reward. The key lime ice cream we ordered - the lady zested a lime in front of us and mixed with the ice cream liquid. Ice cream flavors came out so fresh and fragrant. First time I came I got a Matcha milk blended and nothing was mentioned about sweetness so it was like straight green tea to the brain. The caffeine helped but some sweetness would've been nice. This time I asked about the sweetness and ended up getting the new Matcha mango milk blended with boba. It was much better than my first experience. I was really craving some popcorn chicken BUT I guess popeyes wasn't happy with this place making fried chicken... So I ordered the tonkatsu which has replaced the popcorn chicken and is pork. I also asked for hot as there is 3 levels of heat. The meat was crunchy but was tough and had a lot of breading. There was decent heat but not much flavor. I wouldn't recommend it.
