Purchased a Groupon for a facial and massage. Appointment was on Wednesday, May 15th at 4 PM. I will let my e-mail correspondence with the company tell my story for me. E-mail sent Thursday, May 16th at 6:10 PM: "I received services via your company on Wednesday, May 15th starting at 4 PM. I had purchased a groupon for a facial and a massage. While the facial was relaxing, I felt very uncomfortable during my massage. It was with a man (whose name I can't remember). I asked him to focus on my shoulders and neck, but instead he did a lot of work on my butt which I was not expecting. I didn't like being touched there, especially for such a long time. Also, there was a point where I was laying on my back and he was sitting behind me and he would run his hand down the center of my breasts. Not ever touching the actual breasts, but stroking all the way up and down the center. I have gotten full body massages in the past by other companies and no one has ever massaged the butt area or the breasts. I felt unsafe and uncomfortable but did not know how to convey this during the situation. He never asked permission to touch; it just happened. I was wondering if you could issue a refund for the massage due to the fact that areas were touched that made me feel uncomfortable." I responded on May 17, 2013, at 5:26 AM with my cell number and said I was available after 2:30 PM. Response from BodyBar Fri 5/17/13 1:06 PM: "Okay I will try to reach out to you this afternoon." E-mail sent to BodyBar on May 17th at 9:11 PM: "Since I didnt hear from you today, I am available tomorrow (Saturday) between 2:30 and 6 PM to talk about what happened and make progress towards a refund." Response from BodyBar Fri 5/17/13 10:06 PM: "Yes I am sorry. I got busy with customers right about the time you said you would be available and we finished after 8. I had bought a groupon wayyy back in April or May, its been so long I don't even remember. I had bought 2, one for me and one for a friend. It was for a facial and massage. But EVERY time I called they were booked or didn't have time for two at the same time. I think they only have one massage therapist, which would have been helpful to know. SO I finally got an appt for my friend,(Oct 18th) who was getting married that weekend and she said she enjoyed it, but I think the male massage therapist was a lil awkward, and he wasn't very professional. I had to come back later that day for my appt and of course had the same guy, who made a comment about dancing on the table naked.... and didn't make the massage very relaxing, as he would put the bottle of oil between my legs when he was not using it and would bump the table when he tried to walk around. And when he was done he just stood in the room for a few minutes trying to make small talk and making it even more awkward. And because it had taken so long for me to get in, the groupon had expired and was only good for the amount I paid which was enough to cover the massage. IT was supposed to be an HOUR appt but only ended up being maybe 40 min. And he didnt even thank me and ask if I wanted to reschedule or give me his card. The receptionist was somehwat friendly, but was never very nice when I called and so i felt awkward every time I called to try and make an appt, as she wasnt being very accomodating. . I did try to return the groupon but groupon won't let you unless the company wont take it. Needless to say, I will continue using Zen Massage, they have great prices and great massage therapist who are very professional and I always feel great when I leave. Thanks for nothing! read more

If given the chance I wouldn't have even given them one star! I purchased a Groupon for three massages at The Body Bar. In two weeks I have made multiple attempts to contact business at phone number 913-649-4433 (the number listed on the internet and on the Groupon) and an automated message tells me the line has been disconnected. I have also sent them a message through their website about scheduling an appointment, as well as sent two e-mail messages through my personal e-mail account. It's been about two weeks that I purchased my Groupon and I've been trying like mad to get an appointment and nobody seems interested in calling back. I have contacted Groupon to request money back as I am unwilling to suffer through three massages somewhere they cannot even bother to call back and make an appointment. read more

I purchased a groupon for a blowout. The appointment felt rushed and at the end my hair looked ratty and unfinished. When the stylist was brushing my hair, she tore through tangles instead of brushing them out, which broke a bunch of my hairs. She just blew my hair dry, then tried to curl it for volume, which is not a blow out and not what I asked for. I'm so disappointed with this groupon purchase. I will not be returning. read more

Made an appointment for a wash and blow out and it was not a good experience. The stylist seemed very rushed. She started shampooing my hair before she got it all wet. She used very little product and began blowdrying while running her fingers quickly through my hair. She put a few round brushes in the back of my hair and dried it for two more minutes and then started hair spraying. I was dumbfounded b/c my hair looked like I had just got out of bed. I asked her to straight iron and back comb a little - which she did - but she was in such a hurry she burned my neck twice with the flat iron. I finally said "OK this is fine" I just wanted to get out of there. Paid $40.00 and had to go home and start over before my wedding this afternoon. read more

I purchased the Groupon for a massage and facial. The facial was good and very thorough, but I could hear constant chattering outside the door. The massage was not even worth my time. The masseuse was not well-trained & I don't know if he was trying to conserve lotion, but it was one of the most rough-handed massages I have ever had. Once again I could hear chitchatting outside of the room... talking about bleaching butts and bachelorette parties. I could even tell the masseuse was mortified. I would only give this establishment half a star if it were an option. I, too, purchased a groupon and I should have trusted my gut and left when I walked in the door. The facility appears they were trying to make a "posh" full service salon, but they have missed the mark by a mile. The employees are loud, allowing every detail of conversations to be heard during services. Instead of keeping quiet, they try turning up the music...not relaxing to have birds chirping in your ear at 180 dB! I would ABSOLUTELY agree with the earlier post of being 100 percent uncomfortable during my massage with the male masseuse. To start with, his pants were sagging and his shirt untucked. He lacked any sort of professionalism. the room was cold, no heat on the massage table, and their idea of muted lighting included throwing a towel over the top of a lamp. He too touched mid breast and inner thigh, until I moved so he couldn't. He must have been reprimanded for the butt touching, because he asked if I wanted that area massaged (I declined). The facial was relaxing, just wish she would have discussed my skin and any issues she noticed. My friend and I were planning on purchasing a groupon for the 3 hour spa package and before I purchased the deal I tried calling them multiple times. Each time I was sent to a voice mail. I never spoke to anyone! I even left a message and no one called me back to help me schedule an appointment! I don't even think this place warrants a one star! I should have looked at the reviews before I purchased my groupon! Worst customer service ever! The woman I just talked to had the very worst attitude I have ever heard (not warm and inviting like it should be!). I have literally called two days a week since I purchased my groupon several months ago for an appointment and they have never returned a call. I just happened to get lucky one day and they answered my call, however when my appointment date arrived, they called and cancelled twenty minutes prior. I am a full time student and nurse so when I carve out 3 hours of my day to relax and enjoy myself, I expect to do just that! Very disappointed! I used a Groupon for a Keratin treatment for my daughter who has long hair. I had my doubts about the qualityof the treatment when the owner was able to finish the treatment, cut my daughter's hair, and blow dry it in about one hour. Her hair was only straight for two weeks even though she waited to wash it as instructed. The owner seemed rushed and was friendly to us, but not her staff. I will not be returning to the Body Bar. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. Most of the time you get voicemail and you do not receive a call back. It took 3 weeks to schedule our appointment. I should of seen this as a bad sign. The one hour massage was only 40 minutes. Also, the guy mentioned catching me dancing on the bed when he walked in. Ummmm Sick! What do you say except NO TIP. Wish I could give this place negative stars. Yelp makes you at least give one star. This place is not worth even one star. How does this place stay in business? Tried calling about eight times over a two and a half week period to make an appointment. Always got a recording so I left my name and number EVERY SINGLE TIME. No call back...EVER. If I didn't have a Groupon, I would have given up. My friend finally got through and made an appointment for me. Got off work early and drove out there only to find that they didn't have me down. Told them who she talked to and when. I was nowhere on the books. Not the wrong time or wrong day. Not on the books at all. The stylist who was helping me was the only one there. She said the person that does the facials was out of town and the person that does the massage wasn't normally in on the day I was there. She tried to call the person who took the appointment and didn't get a hold of her. She tried to call the owner and the same crap. She took my name and number and assured that the owner would call me. That was Monday December 9th. Three weeks later and still no call. And I can't get a hold of them. Shocker. This used to be Sunseekers Salon, but they have since revamped and remodeled, becoming a full service salon and spa. The whole concept is that it's a bar for your health, beauty, and general well-being. They offer a full blowout for $35 and I was put on to the business through their groupon offering. I was offered a Keratin treatment, which was extremely low priced, I guess they are trying to promote their new business, but I just had no need for it. Vickie was really passionate and catered to my specific needs, which is hard to find these days in a salon. My only real complaint was that they were pretty busy, and although they handled the volume well, there certainly needs to be more ventilation. Lots of great products I never heard of on the shelves. They also have an infrared sauna which I haven't seen anywhere else in Kansas. Maybe next time I'll try to get a massage, I can surely use one after my workout!!! Anyway, I will surely return here and I will keep you posted if the massage was as good as my cut. read more
