At the risk of sounding like a crazy dog lady, here is my review of our experience with The Bone Adventure. I take my little rescue pup here for daycare probably once a week. I like that they have an outdoor area so the dogs aren't cooped up inside all day. I do think that at $42 per day for a full day of daycare and $60 per day for overnight boarding, their prices are a little steep. You can buy packages, however, which saves you some money but I don't like that they put an expiration date on them. The old no expiration policy was more convenient for those of us with erratic work schedules and/or accident prone dogs. I also don't think it's fair that little dogs are charged the same price as the bigger dogs. The big dogs have a significantly larger and nicer yard area than the littles; why should we pay just as much? There are a lot of little services that they have taken away or revised over the last year or so that irk me. For example, You used to be able to get a doggie "report card" and a "fluff and puff" (basic wipe down cleaning) automatically when you picked up your dog, but you need to ask for these services now. I've also had staff members not remember me or my dog (even when I was taking her on a consistent basis), which isn't a huge deal, but doesn't make me feel like they are really putting an effort into getting to know their clientele. Other than these minor annoyances, I am happy with The Bone Adventure and the service they provide. My dog is always excited to go to daycare and tuckered out (read: sleeps for the next 24 hours straight) when I pick her up, so I can't complain. One last piece of advice: I would recommend starting your dog on a flea medication before taking him/her here; my dog did come home with a couple fleas a few months ago. read more

I am so pleased with my visit to Bone Adventure! I'm going to be leaving my Husky here for a couple days while on vacation, and was extremely nervous to board my dog. But after visiting this place, my mind is completely at ease! I love the environment, and all of the stuff was extremely caring and professional! Kramer has come to love his day play and overnight adventures at Bone Adventure! Typically he prefers humans over his furry friends --but he loves the attention he gets and "observing " his playmates! He always comes home happy and healthy and a bath and brush out with the groomers on his exit day makes it so convenient. I just gotta say, I'm sorry for the guy who had a dog with injuries, but you did trust the place for a year and a half, I would reconsider a one star rating based on that fact alone. Dogs will be dogs, And sometimes even trained people aren't ready for certain situations, but the good thing is it dosent seem like there were any life threatening or permanent injuries. I'm sure the staff will learn from this experience and if anything, ur dog will probably be the safest one there now, since the employees will be proactively aware of the situation. Again, sorry about your dog, if it were me, I'd be mad too, but contrasting all the good experiences against the bad, I believe a one star is unwarranted. They definitely take care of your fur babies! grooming and de-shedding is pricey but they do fair decent. They are constantly booked so definitely plan ahead. Only constructive thing I would say if there was a perk for multiple return visits for the same service, that would be great. But that won't break my review. Just a tip to think about for the owner. I love Bone Adventure!! We left are Chocolate Lab Bosco there over the weekend . We loved watching the dogs on the webcams. Working in the animal field it was important to me to find a place that I felt comfortable to leave are fur baby. Bosco is very energetic and loves to play in the water and with other dogs. Bone Adventure was just the right place for him . There never in cages and they get to just rome around the Bone Adventure. As for all the employees they seem very friendly and know what they are doing. I feel very confident that Bosco is in good hands. Love this place! I take my energetic cattledog mix here for occasional daycare around 2-4 times a month. Yes it is pricey, but it is definitely worth taking your pup here. Save money and buy a package of 10 or 20. You get what you pay for- you can have your dog stay from open until close and it's the same price as long as its over 4 hours. (less than 4 hours is half day and cheaper) You can drop off your dog as early as 6:30am and pick him up as late as 8:00pm. This is great for those working long hours. Here are my highlights: - You can watch your pup on webcam, which is a nice bonus for all the obsessive owners (myself included). - The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They watch over a lot of dogs and I still don't know how they have never mixed up my dog with others. They are able to find him quickly amongst the dogs when I pick him up, which makes me pretty confident that they are focused on every single dog. Their attitude towards dogs is very loving- I was scared to have my pup there because he is still learning the ropes of being a obedient dog and sometimes gets super hyper and overzealous with other dogs all in the name of playing. Instead of being labeled as a wild puppy, they recognize he needs time outs and are willing to work with him. I can see that he needs to be led by himself on a leash at times by one of the staff to "cool down." - My dog comes back EXHAUSTED every time I bring him. Definitely takes the pressure off to have to walk him or tire him out after a long day at work. That is a huge plus and worth every penny. - I can tell that my dog loves it. Every morning that I drop him off, he is excited to go, and bolts to the door with his tail is wagging excitingly before we enter the daycare. Once we get inside and check ourselves in, he sits and waits impatiently for the door to open like a kid in line for a carnival ride. - It's Disneyland for dogs! It a huge outdoor park with a bone shaped pool with shooting fountains and rocky cliffs. This place is amazing for dogs! There are trees, areas of rest/hammocks, indoor/outdoor areas and artificial turf. Dogs come back CLEAN- which is a plus compared to other daycares that are grassy/dusty/dirty. Plus it is outdoors. There are strictly indoor daycares which I am weary about because my pup knows NOT to go to the bathroom indoors. I wasn't about to confuse him by having him go in these all indoor facilities. - Not just a big place to run around- It seems like they have a schedule to letting dogs cool down, where they are hearded into the different areas of the daycare, depending on the time of day. I think this helps to prevent dogs from completely going high energy ALL DAY. - Only downside is that it is pricey- and if you buy a package of 10 or 20 visits and try to save money, you must use them in 6 months or they expire. I do have to get bordatella and fecal testing and giardia testing every 6 months, which is a pain, but understandable. I've also brought him in for overnight boarding. It seemed to have gone well, but FYI that they will all try to sleep in one big room together at the Bristol location as opposed to having their own little personal stall they share with a "roommate" at the Superior location. Superior location is much smaller and has less dogs. In the end, it is always good to get a pup socialized with other dogs and able to get their energy out. A tired dog = happy dog = happy owner! From what I have read, a lot of bad dog behavior stems from lack of socialization, exercise, and stimulation. We are all busy and dogs take a lot of time- but we also have our own personal schedules that we balance our lives with- it's worth your time and money to take your dog here- my dog is the best and his good behavior and lack of tearing up our house is a result of many things- one of them is by taking him here! read more

If I could give The Bone Adventure a thousand stars, I would!! OUR PUGGLES LOVE THE BONE ADVENTURE BACKYARD!! The normal routine is to drop them off Wednesday mornings for a full day of daycare (we call it "Camp"). I swear our dogs have some kind of internal calendar, because every Wednesday morning, they paw at their leashes and wait by the front door crying in anticipation of their excellent day of camp. It really is the highlight of their lives! Pretty much everyone there knows who they are "The Puggles: Patton and Scout". When I drop them off and pick them up, it is painless and quick. The dogs never seem to mind being left for the day and I'm pretty sure they prefer it to snoozing on couch all day. It is so nice to have a great place where our dogs can run around OUTSIDE all day. We used to have to board them at the vet when we went out of town and they were cooped up in a cage for the whole time. A few walks a day doesn't cut it for these two. At The Bone Adventure they wear themselves out playing all day. Most importantly, they get to hang out together and not be separated (they're super attached to each other). They even make sure that Patton uses his slow feeder so that he doesn't inhale his food and choke (again). Yes, It is pricey. But The Bone Adventure is worth every penny!!!! My German Shepherd has been coming to the Bone Backyard for over 2 years and he LOVES it!! The hours are great and my boy is very happy there. I drive 17 miles each direction to drop him off @ the Bone 3 days a week. Each day when I am about 3 blocks away he is wagging his tail, running back and forth in the backseat with excitement !!!! I have always had a person come stay at my house and take care of my dogs. But when I found out about Bone Adventure from a friend, I decided to try it. THE BEST PLACE EVER!! CoCo has so much fun there and I can access the WebCams to check on him. The overnight stays are great. All the pups play and sleep together and it is amazing how they all get along. After boarding, I figure he is full of dog spit so I have him groomed before I pick him up. The groomer is great! He looks like velvet. He sleeps a lot for a few days after we get him home from boarding because he has played the whole time. My roommate and I brought our labradoodle and shih tzu/Maltese mix dogs for boarding for the first time. The staff was always very friendly and accommodating. When I first stopped in to check out the facility, they immediately took me on a tour and walked me through what a typical day looked like. We felt very comfortable leaving our pups with them. This is the new boarding place for my pup. He seems to come home FAR less stressed than the prior boarding place, and I attribute that partly to the fact that he can go outside. So I have an update and I am SOOO excited about it! I decided, after speaking with the owner, that I was going to try this facility again. However, it took me a few months to decide to do this. I am so happy I did, because it was such a better feeling. I think that my previous post helped both me and the facility come together for the better. Not only will my pups be going there 5 days a week but I feel so much better about it. I think what I experienced was rare and after giving them another try I watched the pups on the camera and they looked so so happy, not to mention I felt better about them going there. Fantastic and friendly staff. I always take my dog here to get his nails trimmed. They always take my dog without an appointment. I've been taking my baby boy Nigel to the Bone Adventure Backyard for about 4 months now. As a very stubborn Mini Schnauzer I was worried that he would play a little too rough and the staff would tell me I can't take him there anymore. However the exact opposite happened. Because of how great the staff are with him, he absolutely loves it there, and they even let him play with the big dogs! When I drop him off in the morning now they know me and him by name and are always so friendly and welcoming. At previous day cares that I've used, I've always been worried about Nigel throughout the day while I'm at work. At the Bone Backyard, I know that he is happy and well taken care of. I'm also able to look in on him every now and then with their Watch Me Grow app. Not to mention the outdoor play areas are amazing and he is able to roam and let out all of his energy! UPDATE: After I wrote my initial review, I was contacted directly by the President of The Bone Adventure, Diane. She was extremely apologetic for my experience and went over and above to find out how to make up for it. We had a long conversation regarding why I felt the way I did, and she was very attentive to my concerns. She explained in detail the way that they run The Bone Adventure, and offered to meet me and give me a personal tour of the facility. It was then I met Tracy, the grooming manager, who is also very delightful. Diane, Tracy and I ran back through my previous experience to try to pinpoint what happened, and they really made me feel their legitimate concern and desire to make things right. I was offered a complimentary haircut to show the real talent this place has to offer. I was introduced the groomer, Adrian, who I could tell has a connection with the dogs and made me feel very confident in his abilities. I can tell you that this place is very clean, organized, and all of the dogs are so happy! Even the ones who are more shy have their own space with rugs to curl up on and have their alone time if they want it. When I picked up my dog from grooming (in a much shorter period of time), he looked AMAZING and was SO SO happy! The team has rebuilt my confidence in The Bone Adventure and I am so pleased. I am very pleased with our experience here. My 80 lb shepherd mix Baron is a mounter and got himself in a scuffle during his first time boarding. This scoundrel had a deep cut and the staff called and informed us, took him to their vet since ours was closed, got him stitches and antibiotics. They called before and after the vet visit to let us know how he was doing. The vet also noticed some conjunctivitis while he was there and gave drops for that too. I really appreciated the open communication while we were on the road. Additionally, they said that they weren't exactly sure how it happened because it was in a strange spot so they picked up the tab on the vet bill, which I definitely did not expect. I logged in at least twice a day to see what my crazy mongrel was up to and every time I saw staff on the cameras playing with the pups and working, so I know it wasn't negligence on their part. All the staff I encountered seemed to be friendly with the dogs and know all their names. Today Duke went for his first day and was for a 2hour temperamental test, of course I knew he would be just fine and he was. We came into the facility and I was already pleased with what I saw. Did minor paperwork and was ready to go and acclimate Duke to sniff around the play area and then intro him to the other dogs. The staff very friendly and attentive not only to humans but too our best friends our pets. So awesome to be able to log in and watch Duke and the other dogs play, so fun! It's now been about 5 months Rubi has been going to The Bone Adventure. We still love it. She goes there every week for a half day of play. We probably pass at least 4 other doggie day care places to drive to this one in Costa Mesa, but we feel like where she goes matters. We like that they know her by name, and recognize me too. BTW, yes, she has had a couple little marks that might have come from there, but when we asked our vet he said they are nothing, (which we thought, we were seeing him for something else) and it's the equivalent of a child getting a scrape from the local playground. We want her to play and realize like kids, dogs can get a scuff or scrape here and there. :) We most like - they care, they watch them all the time, (and we can too), a lot of the play is outdoors, they have a little pool, and we were willing to buy a package which makes us be able to afford it. She comes home happy and tired as long as we go in the afternoon. (She's not ready to get worn out in the AM we found out, lol.) read more

What a great find. Pools made perfectly for all dogs. The dogs are free to roam and play all day. They are not cooped up all day in a "cell". My dog is a German Shepard mix and she is completely exhausted each day I pick her up. She meets new friends each day and loves it here. Only wish, is that they feed my dog at the time each day. Many times I pick her up get 2nd meal is not given. They should notify the parents, if this happens. Other than that, I wish I could stay for the day. GREAT JOB!!! read more

This is one of those places that you don't want to review because you don't want people to find out about it!!!! We LOVE Bone Adventure! It is pretty expensive, but that expense is totally worth it! I love how my dog is totally knocked out when he gets home after staying at TBA! I also love the report cards he gets from the staff. They don't do them every day, but enough to know they were interacting with him! Beware: they temperament test each dog, so if your dog is aggressive it may not be a good fit. My 3 year old lab, Mickey, and I love this place! The reception, play area, and grooming staff are very attentive, professional and thoughtful in handling both dogs and owners. They always greet my dog by name and seem genuinely excited to see him. They demonstrate a true interest in the dogs and often go above and beyond in providing safe and flexible dog daycare. Several times they've pointed out scratches or sensitive areas they noticed-- once even pointing out that my dog chewed one paw consistently for a couple weeks with no visible thorns or rocks causing the irritation. As for flexibility they're more than accommodating when it comes to staying a few minutes late or adjusting grooming routines when your plans change or work runs later than expected. Pros: - Daily report card at pickup detailing my dog's favorite toys, activities, and fellow playmates for the day - Webcams so you can watch your dog online instead of working... - Indoor and large outdoor facilities with underground tunnels and a large in ground wading pool - Onsite grooming - Open later/earlier/more often than most if not all other daycares in the area - Pup is dog tired the whole next day - Socializing with dogs and people has made him calmer, less barking, less hyper, absolutely fearless and beyond friendly yet appropriately passive with other dogs (and even my cat) Cons: - Price is justified but too expensive for me (young professional) to do everyday or for more than one dog. - Aliso Viejo / Laguna Niguel not included in home pickup and dropoff service area read more

The staff here are INCREDIBLE!!! They are very sweet about my dog, Ginny--she can be a handful and quite the trouble-maker, but the staff are nothing but kind to her! They love her spunky attitude and that is much appreciated-by me and by her! Ginny is a lab so she has a ton of energy-the greatest part about this daycare is that by the end of the day she's actually tired!! Dog Nirvana! This place has been life changing. I can go to work and know that my pup is having a great time and well cared for. The staff is wonderful and pick-up and drop-off are very fast. They pretty much know the regulars on sight. The facility is very large, almost exclusively outdoors and has a lot of great features. My dogs fav is the bone shaped pond. He always comes home wet so I know he goes in a lot. My dog is a small/medium size terrier, and after my initial interview it was mutually decided that he belongs with the large dogs as he can be too rambunctious (I think a polite way of saying annoying) for the little dogs. Its been a great fit. Prices are very fair-especially when you consider that a full day is anything between 6:30 am - 8 p.m. I generally do half day. I buy a package which helps keep the cost down. They have a ton of staff there and the dogs are well supervised. Staff walks around the play areas and constantly monitors behavior, cleaning and giving the dogs attention. If a dog is too wild, they put them on lead for a short time and walk around with them. I haven't done an overnight yet (working my way up to it) but I love the concept of the dogs all sleeping together in one big room. I spend too much time at work watching the webcam. Even if I can't spot my pup I get a smile when viewing all the dogs happily wandering around with wagging tails. My vet is across the street, Airport/Irvine Animal Hospital, and they say that Bone Adventure staff frequently calls with health related issues so I know they are very attentive.The staff at my vet have nothing but great things to say about the facility. read more
