Kitchen closes around 11 every night bar at 2am. Oldest bar in the town, good decor, nice staff, local folk, great spot if you are going from Houston to Louisiana. Some would consider it a dive others would consider it a watering hole, it's a community spot and a good one.

Love this place!!! Local dive that serves up great food cheap all while listening to some good tunes and live music. I hear this place has been around for quite some time and I can see why. This is the local watering hole. There is definitely no denying I'm back in SETX when I come here. Folks are friendly, the beer is cheap and ice cold and the dance floor is jammed packed as the local band plays Zydeco music. This place does get packed and smokey so beware if that's not your thing. As for the food, I definitely recommend the: Hogshead cheese, Boudain balls and it's one of the few places I have seen actually serve Chicken O's (straight out of my childhood!) Super friendly bartenders, James is great. P.S. Cash Only bar so make sure you bring it. But don't worry, if you forget, they have an ATM inside

I only come here for the food, Boudain Balls specifically some of the BEST Boudain Balls in the area. The Boudain Hut has been here as a long time establishment for people to come hang out, drink, and spend time with friends. They have been known for their crawfish boils, BBQ's, fundraisers, and things of that nature.. but I come here for the Boudain Balls. Your not from around here and don't know about Boudain? Well, Boudain is a traditional Cajun styled meat sausage that is filled with rice, grains, seasonings, meats, and other flavors from the cook's pantry that is placed in a "Sausage styled" casing. Everyone does it differently... so that is NOT the debate here, just the explanation for the non-boudain folk. You ask: "well if that is Boudain.. where are the balls?"... I answer simply that the Boudain link has NO BALLS.. [grinning] But what you can do is get that fine mixture of boudain that the cook has created, shape it using an ice cream scoop, batter/bread it and deep fry it for a delectable taste of a now Fried "Boudain Ball".. that is what you get. Simply put, you need to go there to taste them. They are worth the visit, you may need to wait a bit and have a local drink while they cook them up fresh... but you will not be discouraged and your time waiting will be well invested. Spend some time, go down the highway, and visit the Boudain Hut for some great fried Boudain Balls. You will leave happy, filled, and probably ready for a nap... oh yeah, order enough to take some home for later; your friends and family will love you for it.

So not saying I'll never go back but this visit was not the best. Don't expect good/any service if you aren't a "regular" once I finally was noticed the first 3 things I wanted were not available. So I left and went to Larry's for gumbo and MAN it was amazing!

Cool place to go. Live music all the time.. Good Boudain and cheap cold beer!

A local establishment with low grade, but decent Cajun food. I've never been here at night, but I do compliment the place on early hours. The bartenders that I've seen are "okay" yet not quite attentive. The gumbo is, for a New Orleanean, BAD. The boudin balls are, well, decent. I still come here though. It's a bar. I can drink at 7am. They have music playing on the jukebox. You can smoke here. It's a local place. I've met local people. And the place is okay.

When they used to make the boudin balls fresh on site it was great. Now they are pre-made from a bag.

Don't expect an H Mart-level of variety because this is not the same scale; it is a small business. It keeps me from having to order some items from Amazon or drive to Houston, and I'd rather support small business and buy it from here even if they sell it at WalMart. The service is good. There are complaints on other reviews about "unfriendliness", but those reviews are ethnocentric and don't account for the Vietnamese culture. People aren't going to smile, greet you, and ask how you are at Saigon Market. That is not a typical interaction to have with strangers in most places throughout the world, even if they provide customer service, and no one is entitled to that level of interaction and familiarity. Another reviewer stated that the clerk was rude and lazy when she asked where something was. I cannot help but wonder if the customer even attempted to look because there are few aisles and the aisles are organized by type of good. A quick 2 minute stroll up and down the aisles will give you a layout of where different items will be--that's how small the store is. If you cannot find it where similar items are, they do not have it. Most products are imported and you might need a translator app for some if you don't know what it is or need to avoid specific ingredients. The grocery store takes credit, debit, and EBT cards. There is a separate takeout restaurant--a bánh mì deli--inside the store where you can buy fresh sandwiches and drinks. Other reviewers complained about it being cash only, but many food stands and trucks in Port Arthur were cash only and some still are.
