Went here on a very low key date night just to pop in for a drink and some jukebox tunes. It's totally a Locals dive spot but that's exactly what I was looking for. They've got 2 pool tables and the place is super cute with little Christmas decorations right now. Makes the place feel lived in. I think on a busy night it might be tight because it's an open room floor plan with just the main floor so seating could get tough. But on a slow night it's a great place for a chill night cap! Me and my lady were on our way to the redondo beach pier when the Uber passed by the bounty room and my lady checked out pictures and reviews and we decided to check it out after we were done enjoying the strip of bars by the pier. The time came and we decided to walk (as we always do with certain spots no matter the distance lol). After. 2hr ish walk we made it, the bartender was cool he was playing pool with a few regulars nothing crazy, he came up to us at the bar and was straightforward and asked us what we'd like, we ordered two vodka cranberries, the lemon was kinda mushy and not ripe at all, the vodka was a little off, we only lasted 25 min in there I'd say. When we got home my girl got really sick and we kept blaming the vodka cran haha. Overall it was OKAY. Not coming back but it was OKAY. read more

I had a really disappointing experience here. If you're looking for a fun night out, this is definitely not the place. It felt like the whole vibe was taken over by overly serious pool players who kept coming up to us, asking us to hurry up. One lady, very rudely, even said, "I know you're trying to have fun, but just know people are waiting for you to finish your game." We weren't even goofing off--we were actually playing pool, and yet it felt like we were being rushed the entire time. Toward the end of our game, with just a few balls left, they said, "You have two minutes left on the table." The entire place was full of rude regulars who just stared at us like we didn't belong. The only positive note was the bartenders, who were friendly. But honestly, if you're not a regular, I wouldn't recommend coming here for a fun pool night. It was a horrible experience, and I won't be coming back. Also, there was a dog at the bar. I love dogs, but this one kept walking around, jumping on the bench, and the owner just let it roam freely. First impressions can be misleading or lack full insight. When someone refers to a pub or bar as a dive, that word generates several connotations. The Bounty Room does just that when you enter for the first time. No ambience, no plush seating, nor elegant restrooms. My first instinct was to turn around and walk out. Instead I took a seat at the only seating available, at a short section of bench seats with 13 backless bar stools. At the bar were 22 customers sharing 16 backless bar stools. There were 4 additional customers using the two billiard tables. They were located in front of the entrance door, and the row of bench seats where I was seated. Two television screens are mounted on the wall behind me, and a single arcade game is at the end of my seat. The manager, Jennifer, was also the bartender. She did an excellent job working the bar and extremely attentive to her customers. There are 4 wide screen televisions mounted on the wall behind the bar, with a very large fish tank. Each screen was showing something different with volume off or on low. There are no foot rails at the bar or bench seats. I introduced myself to two of the billiard players, and three customers seated at the bar. I discovered the dive, in this bar means friendly neighborhood bar. The ladies I spoke with stated they felt safe day or night, and enjoyed the attention of the men. This was after becoming acquainted with the various customers, and developing a bond or friendship over a period of five years or months for another. I was told, when there is only standing room, or action at the pool tables, it can be hard to have a normal conversation. The prices of beer, and mixed drinks are much lower than some of the more popular pubs or bars in this area. I discovered the customer base is mainly friends and neighbors. The wooden bar top was knife etched with initials and various street art designs. This bar recently had new flooring installed. Several customers are retired or semi, and this is their hangout or get away from home hideaway. If you want wine, this is not your place. They have only 1 single serving bottle of Sutter wine available. Also the only food, is a variety chip rack. You may bring food in. If you are looking for a friendly bar with bargain prices, a long happy hour, and may be near home, this is it. A game of billiards is only a dollar. Jennifer the manager, would be honored to attend to your beer or mixed drink needs. There are ten popular draft beers on tap. I went back a few days later and took a few photos. It's only for SUPER serious pool players which stinks since there's not a lot of dive bars left since the branch and zebra room closed. There's not a lot of seats at the bar so it fills up really fast. Basically, if you aren't here to play pool or stand outside don't bother. Bartenders are nice though and the drinks are good. This is a great locals watering hole. Happy hour is from three to 6 o'clock. Gives you a great opportunity to try some higher end, whiskey, or tequila's at very reasonable prices. Staff is extremely friendly and social. If you're looking for a fun casual locals bar to shoot some pool and have some cocktails this is a hard spot to beat. Cool spot! Sometimes I think I'm too bougie for dive bars, and then I find a place like this. Small parking lot but I had no problem finding a spot. Walked in a Dre the bartender greeted me. Shout out to him cause he was awesome all night. He was playing pool with patrons. Everybody was having a good time. He made my Moscow mules great. Horrible experience. It's a dive bar with two pool tables where you sign your name on a board and the winner keeps playing. My friend wanted to play doubles and the winner was cool with it, but the other players in the bar got upset and refused. My friends were next in the list and they were gonna pay for the game, yet they said in that bar they don't do doubles. They explained they went there for fun and they were inexperienced players, for which they said that this is not a bar for amateurs and to go somewhere else. We told the bartender and he apologized and asked who said that. When we told him, the only thing he had to say is that those players are douchey. Came here with a buddy who lives in Torrance and he's never been here. I found it as he was coming to visit me while I stayed at the Marriott nearby. I thought we should find a spot where the beers weren't $12 ea. Found this place on yelp. Thanks to all of the great posts! One thing I didn't know and you should too, is that as of the time of this post, and I'm told it's going to change soon, but they are only beer and wine at this point. The owners also run the Sly Fox so if you want to booze, check them out. The bartender, Beto was great. Very welcoming and remembered our names, as well as our beers. They have a couple pool tables which are popular. We played a few games, which I slayed, and the tables are only 75 cents a game. Awesome! I just found my new favorite local dive bar! Don't let the unassuming signage out front deter you. The place is cozy yet somehow spacious, with two pool tables and a couple of dart boards. When I walked in on a Sunday afternoon, two older dudes at the bar turned around, smiled, and said hello. The bartender was quick and friendly, and they have a dedicated restroom for people with disabilities. The whole place is authentic old-school--the furniture, decor and bar being old but polished, not like a shiny, wood-laminate new spot trying to start a trend. I can't think of a more welcoming local bar than the Bounty Room. I had read one of the negative reviews here about the new owners and struck up a conversation with a group of regulars to ask about it. Well, it turns out the new owners did NOT increase any prices. From what they said, the new owners upgraded a few things like letting them accept CCs and might be adding some more upgrades for their customers. All in all, this place is a friendly, low-key, authentic neighborhood spot to grab a few drinks with friends. read more

I came here with a friend at 12 am on a Tuesday night after work. First time for both of us and we didn't know what to expect, Mr.Lucky's was closing early and so we came to The Bounty Room instead. It was probably one of the best decisions I've made. The bartender Will was phenomenal. We orders a couple IPA's and the gentlemen next to us at the bar struck up a conversation and ended up buying us a couple shots and we reciprocated buy putting his beer on our tab. The atmosphere was great, a rough around the edges dive bar with a genuine atmosphere and we felt right at home. The bartender Will was the best, always made sure our drinks were full and even gave us water without us asking. Obviously there were the regulars and they were friendly and everyone gave off good vibes. If your looking for a fun place to drink with a good ambiance and quality drink selection with real no bull shit people, this is the place for you. Check your ego at the door and enter with a good vibe and open heart, and you'll have a great time. We will definitely be back, and we plan on making this our home bar here I. The South Bay. I been to this bar plenty of times I have been served alcohol every single time that I'm gone I'm 21 years old have a vertical ID today October 20, 2023. This older blonde lady I believe is the manager and her name is possibly Corey from all the people at the bar have told me I've never had a problem with having a vertical id at bars today I walked in asked for a corona. She asked to see my ID I showed her and she did not want to serve me because my ID was not a result but I am 21 years old. I have two months left to change it to horizontal. I am disgusted of her service and I love the Bounty Room. I'm here every Friday night and then disgusted how she treated I'm Mexican I was the only brown person in there, so maybe it's a racial thing I'm not too sure but I'm not very happy and because of this, I would never recommend the Bounty Room Dre who is usually bartending when I go should be a manager he does a awesome job makes everyone feel very well and it's just very good at his job overall. NEW OWNER AS OF JUNE 2019. BEWARE. STAY AWAY. What an incredible change... What a profound disappointment. My buddies and I have been coming here for literally twenty years (my original Yelp review was five stars). Since 1998 when I got a job in Torrance, we've been coming here for happy hour. Today we walk in and all the beers are crap wanna-be imports with a smattering of lame domestics, and I get charged almost twenty bucks for a pitcher. When I respond in surprise, the bartender tells me that they just changed owners last week, but even before the owners changed, she says, pitchers were $17.50. False. They were not. I explain that we used to buy pitchers here for ten bucks. (Actually, that was for GOOD beer like Newcastle. We could buy domestics for eight or nine.) Additionally, the music was headache level-loud. I left in forty-five minutes. It's the fastest I've ever been in and out of the Bounty Room. We used to spend HOURS here. Left and went to another bar with my friends. What an incredible disappointment. This place used to be the pinnacle of blue collar, kicked-back drinking establishments. I will NEVER come back. I am so excited to have discovered this little gem in Torrance. Now, when I'm in the area, I have a bar for nearly every occasion: The Zebra Room - for when I get my oil changed at Scott Robinson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram The Thirsty Club - for Filipino class The Sportsman - for when I want emphysema. The bartender is sweet as a peach and upon us learning that it's a beer and wine only establishment, offers me wine options - because I'm a classy lady, clearly - and I select white zinfandel - because classy ladies drink pink wine. The majority of the patrons appear to be locals, drinking beer (and Mountain Dew!? Yeah, I saw you drinking one, red shirt guy) and shooting pool. I particularly like the motif - 70s-style fake rock wall, sexy beer posters, and a bunny calendar!!! Drinks are very affordable, and FYI, it's cash only. Terrible. One of the worst bars I've ever gone to. We came because we wanted a casual place to drink and play some fun games of pool. Instead, we waited 45 min after signing up our name, just for the previously signed up player to commandeer the table and impose his own rules. We wanted to play doubles, and despite our name being up for the table, the previous player refused our request for our friend to play even though it was his name on the board. Even though my name was next on the list after my friend's, we didn't even get to play because the table was taken over by another person on the basis that her name was simply circled. We didn't even have the opportunity to play a game amongst ourselves to redeem our previous terrible experience. When we asked the bartender about it, he gave us ambiguous answers about how the tables are "owned" by the previous winner and that it's just "local" rules since it's a dive bar. These so-called "rules" were not even stipulated anywhere. We are locals, and it was our first time going. You can bet we will never go again. The people here are stiff, rude, unhelpful, and far from friendly. You'll have a better time at any other bar. read more
