So I saw a review, that said it's a five star location, but you have to be a local to understand why. We were there a couple hours and I get it. The locals that were there could definitely tell that we were not locals. However, they greeted us friendly and made us feel welcome. Two people sitting at the bar when we walked in said, "Welcome.Come on in." Another gentleman named Dave struck up a conversation as I was ordering my drink. Speaking of drinks they were mostly the heaviest pours you're gonna find, with just a splash of your mixers. As far as selection, you're not gonna find anything above mid shelf level liquors. Beer is cold and drinks are stiff though you can't ask for more than that. Add another point I ended up giving another lady a hug who was looking for a little reassurance from her friends. Other locals were chanting Molly for the bartender behind the bar. There was a charcuterie board set up that anyone could walk up to just in the middle of the bar. There's a small hotdog carousel going in another corner. Our drinks walking out the door were less than $20. All the things you'd want in a dive bar exist here. Molly, the bartender even came around the bar at one point she was finishing up a bottle of Malibu from a drink that my wife had ordered and poured the last little bit into her drink for her at no charge. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Me and my friends were chillin' here, and 15 mins before close, the bartender tells us we gotta leave. We were totally cool about it! paid, tipped, and went to kick it in the parking lot. Then we noticed no one else got kicked out early, and we overheard him say he just booted us so he could go home. We didn't even trip. But at 1:55 AM, my homegirl tries to run to the restroom and he completely snaps on her. I stepped in to tell him to show some basic respect, and the dude lost his mind. He got crazy aggressive, yelling and squaring up like he wanted to fight. We walked away to avoid drama, but even on his way out, he tried to start with us again. The guy was mad disrespectful, aggressive, and gave off major racist vibes. We actually liked the bar itself, but we are NEVER coming back as long as he works there. Trash energy. read more

Hubbers was curious to check this place out and since we were (literally) around the corner, eh... why not. Found parking right up front so that was convenient. (FYI: They have a parking lot at the back.) It was a mid-afternoon Sunday so it wasn't busy. Plenty of open seats at the bar where we seated. Just fair warning: some seats were reupholstered, some weren't. I wore shorts so I only noticed I sat at the older stools when I started feeling lines on my skin. But this is a dive bar, so there's absolutely nothing fancy schmansie about this place. There were a few locals who knew the staff well. It really is just a place to chill. Think "Cheers" (the TV show) only smaller and darker. They had neon signs for Blue Moon but bartender said they haven't had that for a couple of months now. Settled for the Modelo. Hubbers got a pale ale. We really just hangout and watched games they had on TV. The pool table was open, but we didn't plan on hanging out that long, so we'll save those games for a future visit. I've been walking to The Thirsty Club since 2018--this place is practically part of my DNA at this point. I was even here on March 17, 2020 when the cops came in and shut it down mid-pandemic (iconic, chaotic, unforgettable ). And guess what? It's STILL my favorite dive. The drinks? Strong, cheap, and unapologetically generous--exactly how I like my men and my pours. No food menu, but bar staples hold it down: nuts, chips, and when the Dodgers play? Hot dogs. Shoutout to Kat, the best bartender/enabler in the South Bay--she'll pour you right into a good time. Dimly lit perfect for day drinking. Every now and then you gotta check out your local bar. Thirsty I cool chill neighborhood bar where you'll find plenty of locals. I'm talking their own stools locals lol. Free hot dogs for dodgers games (not left out for a week like in a previous review ha) Cool they give free st Patrick's meals and do other things for their patrons during the year. Ambience - normal bar, plenty of space. Normal loudness for a bar. *They do not serve food normally* I think they only keep one draft on tap which is different. What an awesome dive bar! We walked in around 9pm and grabbed a couple of seats at the bar. Our bartender, Chris, greeted us right away with a big smile and took our drink order. Within just a couple of minutes, our drinks were in front of us--this guy knows how to pour! My wife loved her Lemon Drop martini, and the whole vibe was friendly and fun. We ended up staying for a few rounds and had a great time. When it came time to check out, Chris surprised us by covering our first round. When we asked why, he said it was because it was our first visit. That gesture really stood out--Chris is not only professional but also a genuinely fun bartender. Came here on a Friday after work with a friend just for some drinks. It was definitely a dive bar. No frills, no thrills. The bartender was super nice, the clientele were...interesting lol. Theres a pool table and a jukebox, but be ready to battle other patrons over the music. Its really dark and the parking is scarce. They sell snacks (i just saw small bags of chips) and the prices are reasonable. Might try it out again if I can get more friends to come with me. read more

Walked in on a sat night 9:28pm and found the last open seat. I'm not a regular so I waited patiently for the bartender to serve the familiar faces. I'm new to the neighborhood and wanted to check it out with my friends. The bar tender with the shoulder length dark hair with short bangs was rude and ignored our attempts to order a drink. She would look at us we smiled and gave a little wave when she wasn't busy and she would walk to the opposite side to talk to other people not even serving them. When pulling a graveyard shift nothing is more important than the drink afterwards. Here's how I did.... Got off work at 8:30 and met up with a couple of my peers. Thirsty Club seems to be the meeting grounds that works for all of us. Good thing that they open at 6am although I've never been that early. Isabelle (picture) is the bartender on Monday morning as is always friendly. She remembers that I'm getting married soon and always asks about the wedding which is good for an extra star. With a couple TV's you can watch news or sportcenter, whatever you like. I've only been here 3x and it's mostly guys so if you're looking to pick up women you're going to the wrong dive. Although Isabelle has said she's looking for a man, i think she wanted one of my friends. All in all The Thirsty is a great bar.
