A South Bay institution! Been hearing great things about their pizza and I'm glad I stopped in recently to check out some World Cup games. The service is outstanding and the neighborhood bar vibes are peak when you want to get a "locals only" experience. Some things to note: * They love their UFC here, so if you're into that def come on over. There were more screens dedicated to UFC than WC semi-finals when I visited and the packed restaurant ROARED when the UFC action was happening. * They do line dancing lessons and trivia nights and other fun entertainment here (check the schedule). * The pizza is NY-style, very legit, love the crust, and you can get a whole pie or (I love that you can get it) by the slice. * I also tried the wings. I usually go for bbq or buffalo to keep it safe but tried their tequila miso since it sounded unique. Def delicious and loved the ranch it came with. Would get it again. * They have a separate arcade room with pinball machines and TV screens tucked in the back. There are multiple tables and it's great for a private party. Came in for a Taco Tuesday with $6 smash burgers and ordered both, some garlic knots, and pizza at the bar. The service wasn't great and the food came out very staggered. Really wasn't impressed with the tacos or burger - but the pizza really saved the entire trip. The vodka sauce was also excellent, but that crust was otherworldly. Karaoke night was very fun and the Pokemon pinball machine in the back was super cool! If the manager is reading this please consider hooking it up to the Stern Pinball Insider network! My family and I went out of our way to get here because we wanted best pizza with a high rating. It's a casual restaurant with fun vibes with an arcade and live table games. We thought the service was great! Prompt and attentive staff there. Our server was friendly and engaging. He even broke the yolk and spread it around the pizza for us. Our pizza was very tasty with a good crust, but we felt for the price of the Grounded For Life, we'd get a bit more of each topping. I've been coming to Mom Said Yes regularly, and it has quickly become one of my favorite happy hour and lunch spots! The ice-cold beer glasses are such a nice touch, the New York-style pizza is absolutely delicious, and I love that they always have every game on. Went in for the first time for $1 taco Tuesday-need I say more? They have karaoke in the front. Quite loud, my friends and I had to shout at each other to hear ourselves. Food: Beef, chicken and $3 birria. Beef was the majority vote, a little oily so if you don't eat it quickly, the taco will fall apart. They all tasted good tho! $6 burger, thought it was going to be bigger. It has the option of fries (additional cost). You can also join in trivia and play against other guests! They have an arcade and pool table in the back! $1 to play, so bring your quarters! Star Wars and Godzilla fans are going to be happy. Kid friendly in the back even around 8PM. Staff are nice, kind of hard to tell who's who because everyone looks like a guest and having a good time. We were craving pizza and wanted to try something other than our usual haunts ... something more 'homemade'. We never stopped at the previous owners but were intrigued by this one called Mom Said Yes. Service was very good and not rushed. This is a great neighborhood restaurant and bar with friendly service and great (bar) food. It is much nicer inside then you would imagine looking at the outside. Everyone I have spoken with agrees - the 'new' name is utterly stupid and should be changed. What the name Does seem to reflect is that the place has been taken over by a contingent of 17-20 year old patrons. On some nights, it looks like a teen dance party. We stopped by on a Saturday evening with our toddler and we felt at home with all of the families and kids. Place used to be dive bar, still kind if is... but guess they redid it a bit..? Any way, nice hole in the wall neighborhood spot. Surprisingly kid friendly because I saw including us and two other tables with little ones. They are known for their pizza had a bite pretty good. Definitely not New York style but decent for around here. They're Smashburger. We'll have to say it's pretty damn good and they're sweet potato fries. I have been to this bar/restaurant about 10 times, so I think it is time for a review. I will begin by saying that the only reason that I am not giving it 5 stars is that I believe their drink prices are rather high - especially for their tequila choices. If drinks were $1 - $2 lower I would stop going to the other Torrance and Redondo Beach choices. Their food is another story. Generally, their prices are competitive, and the food is good! I came here for lunch with my kids and I am so happy I did. It's family friendly and they have a little semi private area you can sit in to order food and play arcade games or pool. If you prefer to sit in the main dining area, there's a TV with a camera set up so you can watch your kids while they're inside. Genius! We ordered a full pizza (half pepperoni and half "bad influence") + mozzarella sticks. They have a variety of drinks, plus breakfast, burgers, wings, salads, and more. They ship their ingredients from NY and Italy making them a true NY style pizza place. It was delicious! They do $1 Taco Tuesdays so I'm already planning to come back with a group! I LOVE coming here!! My friend recommended us to come here for pizza, and everything we had was so delicious. The location used to be a bar, but now it's like a pizza parlor where families can bring their kids (there is a pinball machine/arcade the kids can hang out in), and the parents can watch the game (there are SOOO many TVs). There is plenty of seating, but this place is so popular in our neighborhood, it is constantly lively. Stopped by to watch World Cup game. They have been advertising all month to watch games there, so I decided to try it. I wanted to see the Mexico game. Just to preface, I have always loved Mom Said Yes, and my friends and family have been coming here since it was The End. The food and service have consistently been great, and we always find ourselves coming back for trivia night. That is why this experience was so disappointing. My partner and I came in last night to celebrate our anniversary and had a 7:00pm reservation. I arrived a few minutes early, but there was no host at the front. After waiting for several minutes, the bartender let me know they were overbooked and asked us to wait at the bar until a table opened up. I agreed, assuming it would be a quick wait. It was not. We ended up waiting about 35 minutes despite having a reservation and were not seated until around 7:35pm. We ordered drinks at the bar to hold us over, but by the time we were finally seated we were honestly starving. It then took about 15 minutes for a server to come by, another 20 minutes for our appetizer, and about 5 more minutes for our smashburgers. We were never given water despite asking twice. At that point, the whole experience already felt off. I completely understand that busy nights happen and that this was likely not the fault of the staff we interacted with. Still, it was hard not to feel overlooked when a nearby birthday table was given a pitcher of complimentary shots, while our 35 minute wait for a reservation was not even comped or acknowledged in any way. And honestly, regardless of how busy things are, a reservation is a reservation and should be honored. It makes you wonder what the point of making one is if you still end up waiting that long. The whole reason I made a reservation was to avoid exactly that. By the time we finished eating, we were exhausted and disappointed and ended up leaving in the middle of trivia. It was not at all the anniversary night we had planned. I really do love this place, which is why this was so frustrating. I hope this was just an off night, but experiences like this make it hard to want to come back anytime soon. I truly hope things improve moving forward. read more

I went to this place last night to see a wonderful band. It was the Michael Grange band and they hadn't played together for 25 years. This is an easy to find venue in beautiful Torrance. Parking is not too bad, but the liquor store will have your car towed if you park in front of one of their signs. Heads up. The service was really good for a busy night and the place was packed. Shout out to Noemi, as busy as it was, she was pleasant and attentive. I had an IPA and tater tots. The tots were hot and crunchy. They didn't need any ketchup in my opinion. My friends had the spicy permission slip pizza. The crust was very good and chewy. I didn't taste the pizza because I don't do spicy too much. My friend had the chicken Caesar salad and she said it was delicious. She took half of it home. All of the sauces and dressings are homemade except for the ketchup.
